NYX Professional Makeup Butter Lipstick Review

I have the shade 'Hot Tamale' which I just had to get after seeing a member wearing this on Instagram. It is a beautiful, bright, in your face Orange/red. Definitely more orange than red but so much fun to wear.

What I love about these lipsticks is now nice they feel on the lips. The colour glides on easily, and it feels so smooth to rub your lips together. And it has a great colour pay off. With this bright shade especially I didn't need to put on much more than a swipe, but of course you can layer it up.

I did find that the colour stuck around for quite sometime. I wouldn't stay it was smudge proof, but it did leave me with a fair bit of colour for most of my day. It would need a touch up after eating.

I also really love how the packaging of these lip sticks are very true to the colour of the lipstick it's self, as there is a clear middle section that allows you to see the true colour.

Im really impressed with the price point on these too. I plan to add more to my collection soon.

I purchased a selection of these off of NYX directly recently during their huge 4th of July sale and was awesomely impressed! Firstly I ordered them as I loved how cute they looked with the barrel and lid of the lipstick container matching its colour to the lipstick inside and have heard nothing but good things about them.

As mentioned above they have the cutest packaging for lipsticks in this price range, with their branding embossed in white and the easy to use twist up motion and a lid that snaps shut rather than sort of closes and then pops off in your bag kind of lid, this means that I can safely carry my lipstick with me throughout the day should I need a top up.

Lasting power shown by the butter range is great, I applied the 2 coats in the morning, blotted and only needed to top up after lunch for a full day coverage, this was mainly the case for the darker shades but found that a couple of the pink/salmon tones tend to wash away on my face during the day, regardless if I have eaten or drunk anything.

The lipstick itself is very luxurious to put on, it does feel like butter but not in the gross way, it’s smooth and almost melts onto your lips for a plump full look with even coverage of its highly pigmented colour. I have 8 of these that range from light beige, reds, pink, coral and deep plums, out of all of them my favourite is Liquorice it’s the most perfect purple plum I own without being over the top.

I had been wanting to try these since they came out and managed to grab some when NYX had a 40% off sale. I got the shades Hubba Bubba, Big Cherry, Little Susie, Sweet Tart and Licorice.

As their name suggests, these lipsticks are supremely buttery. In fact, these are the most comfortable lipsticks I have ever worn. They feel extremely creamy applying them and once applied. They have a slight gloss finish and are really pigmented as well as hydrating.

I found that the lighter colours aren't as pigmented as the darker colours and need at least two coats if you want them opaque. The darker colours, however, are extremely pigmented and require only one coat.

Because they are so creamy, their lasting power isn't that great. After about an hour - two hours I found I need to reapply them. I don't mind this though because they feel so good on your lips.

I love the packaging of these - the fact that the tube is the colour of your lipstick is really helpful when they are in your lipstick collection as you can immediately see which colour you are after.

These are something I would definitely recommend and I want to try out other shades from the range.

I recently purchased my first ever NYX Butter Lipstick, and I have to say, I am impressed!

I have the shade Big Cherry; a really pigmented, vibrant red.

The formula is silky smooth and glides on really easily, it has a gloss finish to it. It leaves a nice, hydrated feeling to my lips. I wore this all day and into the late evening, and not once did my lips feel dry, chapped or start 'cracking'. This is a huge, huge plus for me, as i work in air conditioning and my lips are forever dry!

I had minimal bleeding, (I didn't use a liner), although due to the creaminess of the formula, it does smear easily.

The staying power is quite good, I found I only needed to re-apply a top up after lunch and dinner.

I can't wait to try out some of the other colours in this range.

The formula of these lipsticks is so perfect for everyday where, it's super smooth and creamy so they moisturise your lips while having great pigmentation. They have a really pretty colour range. The only thing I don't like about them is that they aren't really available in NZ unless you buy them online, and even then the shipping is quite pricey. I also really like the packaging because you can see the colour of the product just by looking at it,unlike mac lipstick where you need to read the name on the bottom

This lipstick actually feels like butter on your lips! They are super creamy and moisturising and come in a great colour range! Some shades last longer than others, I find little Suzie lasts up to 4 hours. They also have great packaging - I love coloured packaging makes it so much easier to find the lippy you're looking for! These lippys are definitely a bargain!

I bought this lipstick in Taffy.

The consistency is nice and creamy and the pigmentation is really good and the colour lasts quite a while.

I didn't find it to bleed at all either which is good.

I am a package junkie and will fall for a product because of its packaging. I know soo bad ;).

Pretty much the only downfall to this lipstick is its cheap looking packaging, and I'm always worried I'm going to break the lipstick as the gap between the lipstick and the tube is quite big!

This was something that I wanted for a long time and the reason I finally caved and made an order directly from NYXcosmetics.com using my YouShop account. I purchased this from them for USD$6. I bought the colour Sweet Tart which is a bright-ish reddened pink.

I really like the packaging of this. It doesn't feel expensive but it is incredibly practical. The casing is the shade of the lipstick and in the middle is a clear section where you can see the lipstick itself so you know the exact shade. It feels quite sturdy and I am in no way worried about it breaking at all.

The product itself glides onto the lips effortlessly. I really like the formula as you put it on the lips. Like the name suggests it is buttery! It feels creamy and glossy with no tacky-ness or sticky-ness at all. It doesn't dry my lips out at all. Unfortunately as to be expected with a product like this it does where off as soon as I eat or drink something. To me that isn't particularly a big deal, and is to be expected with this sort of formula.

I'm really glad that I purchased this and can't believe the quality of the NYX products that I have tried so far.

I had heard some good things about these lipsticks, so thought I would pick one up from makeup.co.nz. First of all they are a great price (only $13.50) - I don't like spending a lot on lipsticks (especially if I am new to the brand). My initial impression was that the formula is so smooth and buttery, that its like putting on lipbalm. I love it! I go the colour 'lollies' which is a nice pinky colour. It stayed on well which is great, and I only needed to put on 1-2 coats at a time.
