Not a fan

I bought one of these online expecting it to be a nice peachy colour. It was almost beige and I can't imagine the colour being flattering on any skin tone. I also didn't like the sticky consistency and find that it does not last evenly. Quite a disappointment.

Not really me

I have this in shade 101 Celestial. I'm not sure about this. The finish was not at all what I was expecting. You get a very high sheen lipstick finish but I prefer a more lip glossy look I think. I found this comes off extremely easily and I feel like I am forever reapplying it which is a major downside. The colour is quite nice and you can see it through the bottom half of the packaging. This lip lacquer has a really weird scent and it majorly puts me off. I find after wearing it for a whole day it makes my tummy feel funny and I feel a bit sick from smelling it and having it on my lips all day. I won't be buying anymore of these and don't think I will use this one very often mainly because of the scent.

Amazing colour but just doesn't last.

I'd heard vague murmurs about these, and picked one up in a Farmers Clearance for about $5.

The shade I have is 300: Out of This World. This is a really unique, pretty, soft rose pink with a metallic sheen (much nicer on the lips than it sounds) and a glossy finish.

The tube is pretty as well, with a gradient in the part that holds the product, that starts out the colour of the lippy and finishes in a black, then a black, jewel-cut plastic screw top housing a standard angled applicator wand which is easy and pleasant enough to use.

At 5.5 ml, the product is a reasonable size for the price - a little goes a long way on the lips.

I love the way this looks and feels on my lips. Despite the metallicy finish it feels smooth and doesn't taste or smell unpleasant. (Pretty much a 'normal' lippy smell/taste). The light hits it beautifully and it looks really effective and pretty.

Where I fall out of love with it is that it just doesn't last. I can put this on and drive to the shops, and by the time I'm there it's not really that evident any more. By the time you eat, drink etc...forget about it. There is virtually no stain component as well, meaning that once it's gone, it's like you hadn't bothered.

This is a 'for the effect' lippy for me, and I'll continue to use it, but won't be repurchasing due to the issues with lack of staying power. Disappointing when it's so pretty, and I hope Rimmel are able to come up with a formula that addresses this in future as I do adore the effect :)

Not the best but not the worst

I ought the bright pink gloss lacquer on sale at Kmart for $5 (yep I am a bargain hunter for sure!) It gives great covereage and the colour is vibrant but WARNING: If you are not a superwoman make up applier (like me) be very carefull not to get this on your face! It stains your skin - due to the bright colour.

Tips: Be vry carefull when applying as it does stain skin - also maybe wear your hair up to avoid it going onto your mouth - the texture is VERY sticky

Not the best

I bought 2 of these when they were on sale in Farmers. I was really excited because their colour range is so pretty and I've become kind of addicted to liquid lipsticks. I ended up getting "303 Apocaliptic" and "307 Meteoric Matte".

Apocaliptic is a beautiful bright fuchsia pink. I'm such a sucker for fuchsia lippies so I immediately fell in love with this. It's not super neon, but it is bright. Meteoric Matte is more vampy, but not too dark. So kind of like a maroon fuchsia? I feel like the colour is very similar to 60 in Rimmel's Kate Moss Lasting Lipstick. It's just that Meteoric is the liquid version.

Although the colours are really nice, their lasting power is not great at all. Easily transferable. I remember drinking a can of fanta and it's like I'd just made out with it because of all the product that transferred. I'm actually quite disappointed with the result. Definitely would not buy it again unless they improve on their lasting power because the colours really are fantastic.

Tips: Always use lip liner under, and bring it along with you if you're using it because you definitely need to reapply especially after eating.

Reviewing the Matte edition of Apocaliips

I purchased 2 of these new Matte editions of the Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer in the shades: Meterotic Matte and Burning Lava. Having seen so many people rave about how good these were, and at the point of sale they were in Farmers for $10 each I grabbed a couple to see if the fuss was worth it.

The design of these lip lacquer is rather cute with the top half and lid of the container being a black colour that fades into the colour of the lip product on the inside as it goes down towards the bottom. The lid is quite firmly secured so it won't wriggle free in your bag. Inside the applicator is ok, nothing flash but it gets the product from the tube and onto your lips.

Formula wise for a Matte lipstick this is far too liquid, it doesn't really set either but creates more of a muted gloss effect to your lips. Not as slippery as a gloss or sticky but no where near what I would call a liquid lipstick matte. It applies nice and even with the colour being rather intense that one coat gets a nice even coverage. After applying I left my lips slightly apart like any other liquid lipstick that dries to a matte but after a good 2-3 minutes it still wasn't set on my lips, and it never did with it smudge almost immediately as I placed my tea cup to my lips. So very unimpressed but I tried the other colour in hopes that it would fair better, but nope still had the same effect. If you are looking for a matte lipstick in comparison to other liquid lipsticks that dry to a non moving matte lip then this is not what you want.

Colours: Meteoric Matte - A deep pink, magenta shade Burning Lava - An orange shade of red

disappointing formula

I bought "Orange-ology" on a whim and totally regretted it, due to the garish colour and streaky application.

Unimpressed! Am I the only one?

So..Everyone and their Grandmother raves about these. NO wonder I bought them. The great shopaholic that I am!! But I should have practiced a bit more self restraint this time. This is why.

Firstly lets talk about the good. Great colour pigmentation. Not drying. Great range of colours. I have mine in Eclipse and Comet. Glossy. Goes on like a lipgloss, looks like a lipstick blah blah blah. I'm sure everyone's got the pros down flat.

But..on my lips, its bleeds like no ones business. Had it on for a day. Went out shopping etc, got home and it was like 5 million red spider legs on my lips. Not cute to say the least. And I have never with any lip products experienced bleeding!! Grrr!! Had high hopes for this product. Didn't agree with me. :(

Will not buy again.

Wouldn't last the apocalypse

I bought two of these when farmers was having a deal all Rimmel lip products for $10, unable to decide I purchased a matte one and the regular shine one.

I this review is on the shiny apocalips I purchased in the shade atomic rose.

The opacity is good, it goes on looking very nice, scent isn't the best but it's not horrible. As for their claim neither a "lip gloss or lipstick" i'd say this is like a lip gloss but the formula is not quite as sticky as a lip gloss which results in the staying power being very poor.

I hate sticky lip glosses so I prefer this over other lip glosses, however I was pretty disappointed with the product based on the expectation they built up for it.

Tips: If you're looking for a colourful lipgloss but don't mind reapplying this is for you!

Bigger than both? Hardly.

On my mission to find the perfect nudes for my chocolate skintone I decided to give Nude Eclipse amongst other shades a go. I wanted to love these, the packaging is stellar in my opinion but the product? Not so much.

I think Rimmel outdid themselves with the packaging - a glossy black plastic tube with a galactic looking lid? 10/10. The product is amazingly creamy and opaque but if you're not careful with application it can have too much slip, very similar to Chi Chi's Lip Lacquers except Rimmel has a thicker consistency.

It has a thin doe-foot applicator which does the job well in terms of precision. What I like about this product is you can tell if it has been tampered with. If you unscrew the lid slowly, it'll reveal a clear plastic; if it's covered in colour then you know that your product has been opened before. Obviously they come sealed but incase you find one that is unsealed and thinking of buying this maybe something you may want to check. I bought mine from Kmart for $16.00.

This is not a product you can mattify which didn't stop me from trying! Unfortunately you either go hard or go home with this product. I feel the nudes would look gorgeous on those with a lighter complexion to mine; this is not to say it would't suit those of a darker complexion but I found Nude Eclipse to be too white based to look natural on me. For such a creamy product it leaves my lips dry! I'm not surprised that it's not long lasting but to leave my lips dry is not the business especially after only 4 hours of wear.

Another thing I detest is the smell! How can a product look so good but smell so awful? It's as if it's fresh off of the manufacturing line, it smells quite vulgar however once dried you don't really smell it. I thought it was just one but nope the rest of mine smelled that way. Needless to say after a year of trying to like these I threw them out.
