Bold. Opaque. Recklessly loaded with pigment. For lips that speak louder than words.

yum

Super smooth, buttery, conditioning lipsticks with intense colour payoff. I particularly love Glamor101, Poisonberry and Airborne Unicorn. I love how blendable and mixable they are with each other, too. Packaging is adorable and some of the darker tones have built-in stains so they last well. Love them.

Tips: Apply with a brush after gently exfoliating your lips. I use a brown sugar scrub, otherwise the more pastel tones can make lips look a little flaky.

My fav ever!!

I've always loved red lipstick, but I have a problem. I'm a natural redhead.

What this means is that I've had a life long quest for a red lipstick that doesn't look awful on me. I can look at a shade I think will be ok, and as soon as I put it on it looks orange or pink and just plain terrible!

I bought this on a whim online when I ordered my lime crime velvetine (which was also a blind buy due to the fantastic reviews on br I couldn't help myself), and on the website I fell in love with the colour Glamour 101.

When it arrived, I felt like I'd just received a present! Not only was it in gift wrapped style packaging from the retailer, but the box it came in was so pretty! Upon opening the box, I pulled out what resembled the most attractive tampon ever.. :-/ I stood there for a while staring and giggling at the oversight of the designers, and then proceeded to apply it. Omg! My quest has finally come to an end!! What I was holding was the holy grail of red lipsticks!!!!!!

Not only was it the colour I've been searching for, but the texture, shine, feel.. just everything was perfect!!!!

Now back to the shape of the lipstick.. its not just me, I showed him the lipstick and he started laughing and said the same thing. Its in the shape of a tampon. A very lovely pink tampon with a silver unicorn on it..but none the less - a tampon.

I shall forgive this oversight, because everything else about it is so perfect.

Unfortunately, it was so good, it overshadowed my principal purchase the velveteen - which while I like, I may have even loved if it wasn't for the opaque being everything and more.

The colour is a very vintage burgundy red, whenever I wear it, it makes me feel very vintage bombshell.. in fact I tend to dress to my lippy when I'm wearing it.. in fact its the shade I'm wearing in my profile picture!

Tips: I have a very vintage red colour, and I enjoy blotting with a tissue old school style - just to add to the feeling I get when I put it on.

I've just gotten Poisonberry as well. I love it! I'm stepping out of my comfort zone buying these, I couldn't rock serpentine. I'm scared lol It can look great though. Being rural means you can wear and feel happy with out the neighbours ;)

Cheers! :) I just bought a LC set with alchemy eyeshadow and 2 lippies, the poisonberry (yay!) and the serpentine (cool but wtf?).. I live rurally so goodness knows when I'm going to get away with wearing green lippy, but fun to have I guess?

Geradium

I'm not blown away by the quality of this product, especially for this price. I've bought this lipstick in Geradium as on pictures it looks like a beautiful medium pink, in real life it's still beautiful, but so so much darker, I was disappointed as it doesn't suit me this dark. It's not hydrating enough and no matter how I exfoliate and hydrate my lips beforehand it still highlights some cracks and dry parts, which I didn't even know they were there until applying this lipstick. Also, I must admit I hate the packaging, it looks so childish, I love cute things and I also love unicorns, but this funnily shaped lilac container with shiny silver unicorn on it is something I would expect in a 4 years old hands... Money not well spent in my case, will not try any other color, as I have much cheaper but better quality lipsticks and after reading more about the company and its founder it really did put me off lime crime products in general.

Tips: Expect different colors than on pictures online, very deceiving. Try look up swatches on blogs.

I AM IN LOVE

I absolutely love this lipstick range, the colours are gorgeous! I have pink planet (a bright pink), coquette (a gorgeous cappuccino nude), no she didn't (bright aqua blue) and mint to be (a nice pastel green). My next purchases will be D'lilac & Chinchilla!

These lipsticks are ultra creamy, and super pigmented. They go a long way, and will last a long time. All of them smell delicious (like vanilla cream) & come in super cute pink, sparkly packaging with an outline of a unicorn on them, they are so adorable! They are easy to wind up, and have a good amount of product in them.

They are true to their name, and being opaque, offer full coverage with a few swipes. They do wear away with eating and drinking, however do have some resistance to that.

These are my all time favorite lipstick, I even prefer these over MAC :)... If you have not tried these yet, I recommend you go out and buy one asap, it will change your life :)

Tips: You can even mix the colours, just pop one colour straight on top of another to achieve a new colour/shade :)

Higher hopes

Writing this review is one of the hardest reviews Ive had to write, a while ago I had never owned a Lime Crime product and I had lusted over their glorious collection of makeup until I saw they were releasing Utopia, I just had to buy it! Along with the velvetine I also brought the Opaque lipstick in Geradium. It took about 2 weeks to arrive and I was constantly checking my mail box every day until it arrived.

The box it came in was amazing, I have never seen makeup so beautifully packaged before. The packaging for the Opaque lipstick is absolutely incredible, you see that they have put alot of time and effort in making the packaging.

Geradium is a pinky coral color lipstick, they are absolutely right, it is very opaque, the pigment in this lipstick is insane! I have honestly never seen a lipstick so solid with color, it glides on the lips so easy, its thick, creamy and gives a full coverage of color.

This is where I feel terrible, the presentation and the color is outstanding but for me the wear time was horrible, once on my lips it moves around and leaves alot of lip stick residue on cups, glasses, bottles. I have had this lipstick for 2 months or maybe more and I have tried to keep this gorgeous color on my lips with no difference. Because of this I dont wear this lip stick very often, I am so sad because the color is gorgeous.

There are some other colors I would like to try, I am just hoping for my sake it was a bad batch, it hasnt put me off buying more Lime Crime.

Pure Poison

Lime Crime is a brand I've always associated with boldness - Bold packaging, bold colours, bold names. Despite all this shouting about Lime Crime in the beautysphere I had never been tempted to purchase until I spotted a recent sale on Beauty Bliss.

I picked up the very funky Poisonberry for a very affordable $20 and it was well worth the impulse buy! Let's start with how adorable the packaging is - shiny plastic purple tube, adorned with the characteristic silver stars and unicorns. The design stands out amongst my makeup and fits this whimsical product.

The smell - slightly sweet with a hint of vanilla, but no taste to speak of. The product itself glides on effortlessly. Poisonberry is definately a bold choice, superpigmented and one slick creates perfectly opague colour. It felt slightly creamy and had an almost amplified finish.

In terms of longevity, I was super impressed by how long-lasting this intense colour was, lasting through eating, drinking and even a couple of smooches! Yes I did get a bit of wearing across the lips but instead of bleeding or feathering the colour looked more like a lip stain. I like the look of this but if desired you can always top up!

I haven't been tempted by any of the other Lime Crime colours and am not a fan of the brands creator so wouldn't repurchase another shade, but the product itself is a high quality and I'm very happy with my purchase.

Centrifuschia: obsessed

I'm pretty much the opposite of a bandwagon jumper. If anything gets hyped I'm more likely to stubbornly avoid it. But when I've heard such great things about these lipsticks from so many people, and they were available for $20 in a shade I loved (Centrifuschia) I decided to go for it - and whoaaaaaaah. Crazy in love.

For a start, these come in a purple and silver tube, with a holographic unicorn, stars, and the Lime Crime logo. There is no mistaking the brand or product. On first glance I actually thought the packaging was OTT but I now realise that was crazy talk as I'm falling more and more in love with it all the time.

You open the tube to reveal the lipstick finger, which is nestled in a silver interior tube. The scent jumps out first - to me it smells a little like vanilla, raspberry and cherry blossom: sweet, with a little bit of fruit and flower. It's a sexy, happy scent. When you twist the lipstick finger up it literally screams colour. Centrifuschia is a bold, sassy bright pink with just a hint of purple in the undertone.

One layer on your lips is bright and pretty, two is out of this world bold, gorgeous and sexy. Because these are opaque they're designed to be built, and you can add other colours under or on top to alter the tone and colour to your hearts content.

The curious thing about these lipsticks - that I love - is that the colour transfers to whatever you're using your mouth for - yet your mouth still stays looking made up. It's like the first layer stains your lips with an indelible base coat that hangs around until forcibly removed. That alone makes these lipsticks invaluable, and I'll definitely be buying more while I can (not to mention a spare of this shade!), as I believe they are leaving the NZ market soon.

I'm relatively new to bright lipstick and this was a little confronting for the first few minutes, but I am so in love with the sassy, sexy, bold statement it makes.

Lime Crime lover here!

Tips: If you can't handle the bright, overlay it with a sheer purple or paler pink for a gorgeous, toned down shade

I've since picked up Countessa Flourescent, which is a bright neon pink, and just as stand-out as Centrifuschia. Countessa doesn't stain the same way, but is a super girls, pretty shade which jazzes up a black dress instantly. Just as gorgeous x

Amazing colours

Firstly I'm very sad that these lipsticks are being discontinued but if you can get your hands on them I definitely recommend them! Their colour range is amazing and I own around 8 or 9 of their more 'different' shades myself. Most of the colours stay on very well as long as you don't eat oily foods but I've noticed my shade 'serpentina' a metallic green which is my favourite of the colours has a lesser staying power and is also quite easily smudged. But overall I love these and definitely recommend!

Tips: You may need a lip liner for some shades to stop feathering, in my experience serpentina needs something.

Lime Crime Centrifuschia Opaque Lipstick

This is the first lime crime lipstick I bought. I did buy it second hand because I didn't really want to order off the site at that time and a friend of mine didn't want to keep it as they had only used it a couple times. First off I think the case is nice pink toned lavender which stands out from my other lipsticks that come in black tubes. The silver stars and the unicorn on the tube are a really nice touch. Centrifuschia is as you probably guessed is a vibrant pink fuschia. It does have a creme to satin sheen and goes on smoothly and very opaque. The lipstick has a sort of fake vanilla scent to it. Not the worst vanilla scent, it just doesn't smell like vanilla pods. This Lime Crime lipstick lasts on my lips a long time. I find that I can eat and drink and I'll still have a lot of color on my lips. Even after six hours and two meals later, I find that the color is faded a bit at the sides and worn out in the middle but my lips are still vibrant fuschia. The cons of this product would be that it's more of a dry feeling when I use this lipstick once the lipstick has gone on it feels pretty dry on my lips. Another is that it transfers onto anything that touches my lips - food, cups, loved ones, etc. I once was eating an apple while wearing this and ended up with lip marks of vibrant fuschia on my nose and around my nose and chin. Luckily I was near a ladies room so was able to wipe it off, but it did get a few people looking at me awkwardly before a lady kindly pointed it out. That being said most lipsticks will transfer on to cups, water bottles and love ones (if you like to kiss them). As a lipstick this is a good lipstick. It's not my favorite or the one I reach for the most, but at the time of writing this I think that's because of the color and how it will show up on anything my lips touch. However, it is the only fuschia lipstick I own at the moment and I do like to wear the shade from time to time. I'm not sure if I would repurchase this brand though but that's mainly because of the price, shipping and the security issues with the site and as far as their lipsticks go I definitely prefer their Velvetines to their regular lipsticks.

Tips: Exfoliate your lips before applying this. If you are going to wear this lipstick please avoid spherical, remotely spherical shaped foods like apples for example. This lipstick will still be able to transfer even when it feels dry to touch. After eating if you can’t touch up your lipstick, rub your top and bottom lips together to make the fade less noticeable. I didn't buy this lipstick off the site but I did an order when my credit card was about to expire, I didn't have any issues with security.

Love them!

I was lucky enough to get my hands on few shades of the Lime Crime Opaque lipsticks before they stopped selling them in New Zealand. I've got countessa fluorescent, retrofuturist, glamour 101 and centrifushia – each of those colours are beautiful. The lipsticks came in very cute, sparkly, purple unicorn packaging and the lipsticks cases were the same.

Lime Crime Opaque lipsticks had a smooth texture and glided on nicely to the lips. The shades appeared opaque and highly pigmented with a light shine – one application was enough. Unlike many other lipsticks, these kept my lips moisturised and supple. I had to reapply the lipstick after eating or drinking, otherwise I found it to be long lasting.

It’s unfortunate they stopped selling them in New Zealand, but if you get the chance to get your hands on them, definitely go for it! It’s a unique lipstick that’s worth a try.

Tips: Exfoliate the lips before applying the lipsticks
