Silky and Smooth

Have never worn a better primer. I have had this bottle nearly a year now, wearing it almost every Saturday or Friday night. And I still have half a tube left! Makes my skin feel amazing and makes my foundation last so much longer.

Tips: Don't use too much, a little goes a long way!

Shade Original, and my original love

I have gone through a few of these in my time! I love the formula. I even had one of the old packaging when it was in a tube. This is my fav product for making sure that my eyeshadow doesn't budge all day.

The packaging is really good. A small squeezy tube with a funky lid. Once you take the lid off there is a small opening which is great so that you don't push out too much product at a time.

The product itself is a cream, it is a bit thicker than other primers that I have used which I like, it makes it feel more substantial when you are putting it on. It has a bit of a light skin colour to it. I think that is silly as it probably limits the amount of people that can use it. When you smooth it on your eyelid it doesn't show up too much of a shade but I can definitely see that it is there, I imagine that it shows up a lot more if you aren't quite light skinned. When it dries down you can tell that it makes a much smoother surface on your skin. You also only need a tiny amount which is great, it means it lasts a long time. Also because it is in a squeezy tube it doesn't get too much air in there so it doesn't dry out.

Do make sure when you are using this that you use a small amount as I have found when I use too much it creases itself then it is of no use to anyone.

I think that this product does exactly what I expect it to. It says it makes eyeshadow last 24hrs which I don't believe for a second. But it does make my shadows last my working day which is all I expect.

Best Eyeshadow Primer!

I've always had quite oily eyelids and could never find any type of eyeshadow that would last the day. I was then given a sample of this wonderful product....

I had the shade Eden, which is a nice creamy pale beige. This product makes made my eyeshadow look freshly applied all day. I just apply it with my finger to my eyelid and it sets quickly so there is no waiting around to put your eyeshadow on. I feel like the eyeshadow colours really pop with this as the base.

Tips: You only need to use the smallest amount.

Good product

I read the hype and had to get my hands on this . I wear eye shadow daily to work so I need a good base. Finally I made my first Mecca order . I got the sample size just in case it’s not good. I’m glad I did .

Packaging beautiful aesthetically looking at it . But the applicator doe for it shaped weirdly not like most applicators .

Consistency is creamy ivory coloured beige . Seems quite thin compared to my other eye shadow primers .

Application seems annoying with this applicator .I seem to push the product back in to the container leaving me with a sparse amount of product to apply . I’d rather use my finger instead . Goes on thinly .

Results can hold my eye shadow for a good twelve hours wear time . Doesn’t seem to crease at all .

I was underwhelmed by this product . I would rather use my concealer I got from the beauty vault the l’oréal one . Way better at holding my eye shadow. Holds for more than 12 hours. I’d rather repurchase that than this. I wouldn’t buy it again . I know it’s a loved product but it just didn’t live up to what I’d hoped for .

Cult favourite worth its price

I have this in the purple tube, the original one I think. I had been wanting this for the longest time so when I saw it on sale at Macys for only 8USD (like 15nzd?) I put it in my shopping basket without a second thought.

I've tried two or three other primers before but never really saw a significant improvement in the appearance of the shadow on top. Sure, they made it a little smoother and less wrinkly but that was it. This is different! This was like a whole new world and now I see why it's got so many raving reviews.

The tube has a little nozzle which makes it easy to control how much I squeeze out. And a tiny tiny little bit is enough. I apply it with my fingers because the warmth actually helps it sink in more and it glides on so smoothly. This is more of a gel/foundation kind of texture, whereas the ones I've tried before were definitely more liquid.

This seriously makes the eyeshadow look 2x more pigmented. You know those shadows that look gorgeous in the pan but when you apply it the payoff is 0? This is the savior ya'll! This is especially good on colourful or bright colours because it makes them pop.

And of course, this also helped my shadow stay put for longer during the day, and I noticed despite me getting a little sweaty (I was at an event with lots of lights and people), the eyeshadow didn't budge at all.

Love this so much I'll be buying it again when it runs out, hopefully I can find it cheap here!

It's ok - I have had better

I have oily lids. Before primer I never wore eyeshadow as by midday any trace of effort would have disappeared. This is the first eye primer I have ever tried and boy was I happy. Not only did it make the eyeshadow colour appear better, everything stayed put! It goes on like a sticky concealer and dries to clear. Eyeshadow and liner stays put all day long, expect some colour fading it's not bullet proof. Why I say it's ok... I found a cheaper alternative which performs just as well but maybe the packaging is not as pretty. Etude House Proof 10 eye primer, you can get it off eBay for about $10nzd.

Tips: For oily lids eye primer is your BFF. I never go without now!

I'll never look back

I brought this in sephora in Las Vegas. Previously would use foundation as a primer for my eyelids. However, as I have oily lids also, I found it wouldn't stay on for that long.

I wanted to try this after hearing all the hype and let me tell you, it was worth it!

Packaging is so eye catching, it just looks like quality. I had absolutely no trouble applying this with my fingers. The trick is to use only a very, very small amount as the payoff the great. Once it has settled on the lids you immediately feel like whatever you put on next will stay in place. Its not sticky though, its very... dry? Like a chalkboard (well, that's how I felt anyway)

My makeup stayed on the entire day without budging. I recommend to everyone!

Tips: A little goes a long way with this product!

It does the job

A sample of this was included when I bought the original naked palette and I've been using it since. I find it works best when I apply a little bit at a time and pat it onto my eyelid until it starts feeling a little tacky. I have super oily eyelids (and deep-set eyes) and my eyeshadow lasts all day without fading or creasing.

Tips: Concealer contains ingredients that will cause powder products to break down over the course of the day. An eye base or good cream shadow are specifically formulated to prevent oil breaking through.

Lives Up To The Hype

On the original primer: There is no doubt that this primer lives up to the hype. Don't be disillusioned though, it's not 100% perfect, having experienced small amounts of creasing while using this. But it does hugely increase the wear time of your eyeshadows, protecting them from fading, and probably my favourite feature is that this primer make your eyeshadow colours apply more opaque and true to the colour they are in the pot. I don't think I would repurchase the original primer, finding that E.L.F's Eyelid Primer in 'Sheer' to be just as good and much more affordable! Though I would really love to try this in 'Sin' as I think it's such a beautiful colour and would compliment a number of my eye looks really well.

Tips: Try E.L.F's Essential Eyelid Primer in 'Sheer' as a fantastic dupe for the UD 'Original' primer.

LOVE LOVE LOVE

I LOVE this product! My aunty brought it for me for my birthday and it is the best eye primer I have ever used! I went swimming, rubbed my eyes and my eyeshadow was still going strong :D LOVE IT! The first time I used it, it came out very watery so I recommend each time using it to give it a squeeze and shake around to get the product ready. Also a little goes a long way in this case and using too much will mean the excessive product needs to be wiped off. If I was to describe the consistency it is quite watery at first then it comes out as creamy. I found this didn't have a fragrance to it which is nice! This prodct, although in a small tube, goes a very long way! My sample lasted around 10 usages. I would recommend this to all my friends and when it finally finishes I will rebuy :)

Tips: Dont use too much on each eyelid as a little goes a lonnnnng way :)
