Maybelline Volum' Express Mega Plush Review

It does make my lashes very soft, but not very long. I don't particularly like the way the stick bends, it makes it so i don't have much control when applying it. I don't think i would buy this again. But my lashes were so soft i could even feel like i had mascara on.

I really wanted to love this product, couldn't resist the promise of soft full lashes - and it did deliver on the promise of softness, just not the fullness. The brush I found awkward, and if I do buy it again I'll go for the non-waterproof option - I found the waterproof one a little flaky. It's a lovely mascara for a natural look though, another maybelline goodie :)

I really liked the dramatic effect of this mascara, my lashes looked fuller and that made my eyes stand out more. However I found that my lashes became brittle after long use, however to be fair this may not have been this mascara but years or constant use and I do tend to use different mascaras at the same time for different effects night and day..

I was super excited to try this mascara as it would of been my first Maybelline mascara and had pretty good reviews on you tube. Intitially after my first coat that I had applied I was a little dissapointemy lashes weren't very voluminous but I let it dried and after applying a 2nd and 3rd coat my lashes were fabulous and clump free. I did have the waterproof formula so my results may be different to other but overall a pretty good drugstore mascara.

It definitely did what it said for me on the packaging. I naturally have medium to long lashes and they are not thick or sparse but this mascara (I used the non waterproof one) does not have a brittle feeling on your lashes, it is quite soft and plush-like as it states. It lengthened them very well and did offer some volume but it is more or less a lengthening mascara and does a wonderful job doing so. You can apply more mascara to the roots of your lashes to create volume but i would use the Falsies Volum' express over this one to create a lovely look :)

It wasnt a wow product for me, maybelline mascaras tend to be a little thick and I found it a little cakey. Its a good over coat but I try to avoid using too much.

I found that it need what it said it would, gave my lashes volume and actually did thicken to make them appear to be false lashes. There was also no irritation, no smudging or flaking. Downfalls include drying out, it doesn't last very long once initially opened and also it took a few attempts to remove, even though it doesn't state that it is waterproof, needed some eye makeup remover and a couple of pads to remove successfully.

I love this mascara as I have long lashes and it makes me longer but I am not a fan of the wand the bristles are to long and it bends to much when trying to apply. I have cleaned one of my define a lash wands and I use that to apply it and I get the same result and is much easier to apply using that wand instead.

I've found these Maybelline mascaras to be fair for the price. It does have good coverage and I definitely notice it lengthening my lashes. Would I use it again, yes. Is it the best mascara I've had, no. Does it live up to the tv ads, of course not! I do notice that I can't do 'touch ups' throughout the day of it as it just clumps together, but starting fresh faced definitely helps the coverage and quality.

I got this in brown and at first I wasn't fussed, but I realised that a couple of coats are required to really get something close to plush lashes. I use this on my bottom lashes when my black mascaras are too much. My lashes don't feel as stiff as they do when I've used something like Too Faced Better Than Sex.

The brush is a bit odd and takes some getting used to.

Not sure I'd pay full price for this again, or if I just like it because it looks quite natural in the brown on me.
