Maybelline Define-a-lash Mascara Review

I was lucky to receive this as a freebie from " I Love Beauty ". My lashes stayed soft & there was no irritation or flakiness. Which is an issue I usually have with mascaras. It does separate & define as promised, but there isn't much volume added. One swipe was enough for me, as it is inclined to become clumpy & lashes stick together if you apply any more.So perhaps a lash comb is a good idea if you like a thicker look.

This mascara does what it says! Never get any clumping, while still getting a nice level of volume and length. It is more of a liquid formula than other Maybelline mascaras but it does dry after a minute or two and no smudging throughout the day (unless you come into contact with water). It has a good staying power, and doesn't seem to flake off. Best of all IMO as a contact wearer this is mascara doesn't irritate my eyes! Woo!

This one is funny! Simetimes when I use it, my lashes look lengthened, separated and defined, but other times it comes out spidery and I have to comb it out! I think I need to spend some time perfecting my application technique, because when I do it right, they look gorgeous. The formula is smooth and doesn't flake or clump, it stays put, but cleanses off easily, no dragging on the lashes which is great. I would tend to use this one more for a day time "no make-up" look, as I prefer a little more volume usually, but that's personal preference. For what the mascara is designed to do, it's great.

I got this a free gift from I Love Beauty and it's actually really good. It says it's non clumping and it sure is. I was amazed at the definition and length it gave while still feeling soft. And at the end of the day it didn't feel all dry and flakey. Overall a great everyday mascara.

First I curled my lashes and then added this mascara, the wand is very fragile, so you dont want to be too rough when putting back into the tube, gave coverage, but after a few more applications, it became clumpy. Gave me length and was easy to take off.

Not very pleased with this mascara as I've got short and fine lashes and it didn't work for me, I didn't get the length and volume I needed.It will be good as a back up in case I run out of my everyday mascara. For someone else with longer lashes it might be ok as it does a good job defining the eyelashes. But I would not use it for that special occasion or night out as this doesn't give the dramatic look you could be after. I wouldn't purchase this again.

love this mascara. gives a lot of length and no clumping but not a lot of volume! so good to use with fake eyelashes but not if youre going to have a smokey eye because you might want more volume. for that i would use maybelline the falsies mascara

I am fully loving this mascara! It is amazing! I'm using it daily. My eyelashes look so much longer and actually defined unlike my old mascara. I'm wanting to buy another one for my handbag "just in case supply".

I was a little disappointed with this mascara as I thought that because it was called 'define-a-lash' it would have defined my lashes more than it does. It is clump-free which is a good thing as clumps are the worse thing you want while applying mascara. I didn't like the applicator as it wasn't a brush as such and I felt like it made my eyelashes still together rather than separate them. When in Farmers, I brought some disposable mascara wands by Manicare and used these to apply the mascara and it gave better definition of my lashes and lengthened them a lot more. One thing I do like about the formula is that it is very easy to remove with a bit of face wash or soap.
