Maybelline Colossal Up To 36H Waterproof Mascara

I went into this review with a history of using their mascaras, and all being super clumpy and staining.

Maybelline have upped their game on this one. This mascara is definitely clumpless as they claim. You can youse a few coats to build up. When used on my lower lashes the brush is a big for them. This means that doesnt coat the ends of my lower lashes that well. It’s okay with me though because that helps prevent smudging.

It definitely lasts all day and appears to be pretty waterproof! Yes I have cry l-tested this.

I use a rosehip makeup wipe to remove my makeup and it took most of it off, and then in the morning there are remains. Thats why they recommend using an oil based makeup remover.

Overall I thtink this is a great dupe for Benefit’s Better Than Wet Mascara.

On applying this mascara I found I had to apply multiple times just to get the product onto my lashes. Following this I found the volume wasn’t that great. It also states waterproof however I noticed throughout the day the mascara smudged onto my eye lids which I wouldn’t expect from waterproof mascara. Overall I don’t think it’s great, and wouldn’t recommend.

Mascara is a staple in my make up routine so I was extremely lucky to be able to try this!! Packaging is standard for a Maybelline mascara. The wand is great and what you would expect for a volumising mascara as well. I love that the bristles of the wand are longer in the middle and shorter at the top. This makes coating the inner lashes with the tip of the wand a lot easier! The formula itself isn’t too “wet” and slippery. It seemed to be a bit thicker and I feel that’s what made it easier to apply on my lashes without it going everywhere. I normally coat my lashes twice with any mascara so I did the same with this one. I found that this product goes on quite easily and doesn’t clump on the second coat! It dries quite quickly too. It lasted really well for my liking. I unfortunately was not able to trial it for the full 36 hours it claims to go on for but can definitely say it’s flake proof and smudge proof for sure. I would definitely be purchasing this again!

Love the bottle in black and yellow and it has a lovely thick fluffy brush. This mascara certainly has great very long lasting staying power, no smudging, or flaking and easy to remove with makeup remover. It gave great thickness but not length which is a shame as length would be a bonus. A nice rich thick black which dries quickly. Overall I really liked it.

I'm not one to wear too much make up but with my blonde eye lashes Mascara is something I always wear. Maybelline Colossal Mascara, in my opinion, is everything you want in a Mascara! The lovely big brush provides even product to leave your lashes enhanced and elongated and, even after a few applications, doesn't make the lashes stick together or create clumps of product. I sit at a computer all day and have a bad habit of rubbing my tired eyes and after doing this I wouldn't be left with smudges of Mascara around my eyes or my hands. In regards to its waterproof-ness, it withstood spectating a game of football in torrential rain, without an umbrella, and no running or smudging.

This mascara definitely lives up to its claims - it's smudgeproof and waterproof and does last up to 36 hours. The design of the brush is great at lengthening lashes, but I think the formula needed to be a little thicker to really allow for volume as well as length. I felt as though because the product was so thin, I needed to apply several coats before I really got the effect I'm after with mascara. It was waterproof and smudgeproof but it wasn't as difficult to remove as I thought it would be, which is a good thing because no one wants to be literally pulling their lashes out trying to remove their mascara! Overall I think it's a really great product, I just would have loved for the formula to be a bit thicker.

I tried this Mascara over the course of a few days. I put it on my bottom lashes as it said it was waterproof so I thought it wouldn't smudge, but I was wrong. Put it on at 8am and by the time I got home and looked in the mirror at 3.30pm I had smudges under my eyes. So for this reason I haven't rated it 5 stars. I dont normally wear a waterproof mascara as I find them a pain to get off. I used my Glow Lab cleansing balm to get it off, which seemed to work well. It seemed to stay quite well on my lashes with no smudging on my eyelids only the bottom(dont normally wear any on the bottom) It was definitely black and lengthened my lashes quite well. Was just the 36h waterproof part that let it down.

Love the bright color on the bottle, When I put it on I loved the fact it went on smoothly, didnt clump and didnt end up all over my eyes. At first I thought gosh no as it really felt like my eyelids were sticking together even tho they looked great. But after 5 min I completely forgot I was wearing it and only when I saw my reflection was reminded by my fab looking lashes. Waterproof most definitely, multiple showers, random downpours and the cry test all passed with no smudging or running at all. was it 36hrs hmm not sure they were as bright and defined by then but atleast 24. Overall I'm a fan and would definitely buy it again. Loved that it didnt make my eyes water from being sensitive to it, no panda eyes and some great complements

If you're looking for an extremely long lasting mascara or one that doesn't run from water, this is definitely the mascara for you. Even when using an oil based makeup remover and having a warm shower, this mascara was still wasn't completely removed from my lashes. I didn't wear makeup for three days at one point and still could see it on my lashes, even after multiple showers!

The brush on this mascara wasn't my favourite. I had to use a lot of pressure to get the product through my lashes. Once the product was on I did like the appearance. The product is very black and pigmented. It didn't clump or streak and did coat every part of my lashes.

I didn't get the length that I get from some other mascaras with this product, however I did get volume. Overall, I did enjoy this mascara and would purchase it again. If you're looking for a long lasting mascara definitely give this one a try.

The packaging was basic, and the wording clear and bold. The tube is a nice size and the wand basic compared to other mascaras that I have used. The “product” itself is a great consistency, nice and thick. When I applied it did not smudge and applied smoothly on my lashes. The colour is an intense black. The mascara is VERY waterproof, as I went to tje gym a couple of times after work and it did not run or anything, was very impressed with that. It also so waterproof that washing it off is a mission that is how waterproof it is and definitely long wearing. Compared to for example the Better then Sex mascara it does not give that effect of longer lashes. A great mascara either way for maybe a cheaper alternative to the more expensive mascaras put there. For a more intense look I apply 2 coats.

Will definitely get again.
