Maybelline Colossal Up To 36H Waterproof Mascara

If you're after for a hard-working mascara, look now further than Colossal Up To 36HR Mascara. This beauty stick like the proverbial to a blanket. I have naturally long eyelashes, and pretty much every mascara will leave little blink marks on my cheeks. Not this though. It applies easily, with no clumps and dries quite quickly. It doesn't curl, but it definitely made my eyelashes look fuller. I found I did need a few layers to get the full effect, but I didn't mind that. I'd rather than than a thick, lumpy fluid. I did a trial to see how long it really lasted, and two showers, two sleeps later it was still hanging on. No flaking. No smudging. I'm 99% sure it'd last you through a marathon if you so desired! It came off easily with an oil-based cleaner. I liked the size of the product too - slightly smaller than my other mascaras, it'd be great to chuck in a handbag etc. Although, you don't really need to as you won't need to reapply it. I have quite sensitive eyes, often with eczema on my eyelids, and this product didn't irritate me at all. I'll definitely be looking to purchase again (I was part of the trial team). With masks now putting the emphasis on eyes, rather than lipsticks, a good mascara is a must. This ticked the boxes for me.

I went into this review with a history of using their mascaras, and all being super clumpy and staining.

Maybelline have upped their game on this one. This mascara is definitely clumpless as they claim. You can youse a few coats to build up. When used on my lower lashes the brush is a big for them. This means that doesnt coat the ends of my lower lashes that well. It’s okay with me though because that helps prevent smudging.

It definitely lasts all day and appears to be pretty waterproof! Yes I have cry l-tested this.

I use a rosehip makeup wipe to remove my makeup and it took most of it off, and then in the morning there are remains. Thats why they recommend using an oil based makeup remover.

Overall I thtink this is a great dupe for Benefit’s Better Than Wet Mascara.

Love the bottle in black and yellow and it has a lovely thick fluffy brush. This mascara certainly has great very long lasting staying power, no smudging, or flaking and easy to remove with makeup remover. It gave great thickness but not length which is a shame as length would be a bonus. A nice rich thick black which dries quickly. Overall I really liked it.

If you're looking for an extremely long lasting mascara or one that doesn't run from water, this is definitely the mascara for you. Even when using an oil based makeup remover and having a warm shower, this mascara was still wasn't completely removed from my lashes. I didn't wear makeup for three days at one point and still could see it on my lashes, even after multiple showers!

The brush on this mascara wasn't my favourite. I had to use a lot of pressure to get the product through my lashes. Once the product was on I did like the appearance. The product is very black and pigmented. It didn't clump or streak and did coat every part of my lashes.

I didn't get the length that I get from some other mascaras with this product, however I did get volume. Overall, I did enjoy this mascara and would purchase it again. If you're looking for a long lasting mascara definitely give this one a try.

This mascara genuinely surprised me, I have gone through so many high end mascaras ranging from too faced, Dior and benefit and in my opinion this has preformed just as well if not better then most of them.

Brush- the brush is super large but unlike most large brushed mascaras it goes on without clumping your lashes together, you get really good separation. The only downside is it does make it hard to get the corner lashes me as there on the curlier side

How it wears- This mascara absolutely stands up to its long wearing name, and will stay on all day including when the wearing decides to switch up on you. In terms of transfer I did get a little on the lower lash line however this was after wearing it for about 8 hours.

The mascara drys down quickly and does not have any strong smell, it’s comfortable to wear and doesn’t feel chunky.

The Maybelline Colossal waterproof mascara definitely did what it claimed to do. The mascara lasted a long time - so much so that I found it difficult to remove at the end of the night. Like most mascaras it was really easy to apply. The wand made it easy to apply to both the upper and lower lashes to get that really long thick look. I only had to apply once on top lashes before the effects were seen - they were much darker, thicker and longer and there wasn't any clumping. At the time of writing this review, the mascara is around the $25 mark. I would buy this again purely as it did what it said it was going to and the price point is good.

Another great mascara from maybelline, it’s pretty standard in performance, nothing outstanding in my opinion. Performs like any other maybelline mascara on the market, I don’t think this brought anything new to the playground for us. I like the brush, it’s thick and fluffy, tube is cute too. It has nice black colour, but I felt like it was already a tad dry and I just got it out of the packet. I had to go through my lashes a few times for them to be coated properly, it doesn’t lengthen or makes my lashes fuller, it just colours them black, which for me is the bare minimum from a mascara. I will update this review after continued use, especially after I could wear this at work to see how it holds up, but just hanging around at home it stayed on great the whole day, no transferring onto the skin or under my eyes, so far it’s looking promising. Even though it’s waterproof I had no trouble removing this mascara at all, came off easy with a micellar water and a quick face wash in the shower.

I’m always trying different mascaras so I was really happy to get the chance to trial the Maybelline Colossal 36H Waterproof Mascara. Maybelline promises up to 36H wear time and claims it to be flake-proof, water-proof and smudge-resistant. The brush has soft natural bristles and is quite big and thick. The bristles are long and evenly spaced but not too close together so it gives a precise application and an even distribution of the product. The formula of the mascara itself is slightly on the dry side which makes it easier to work with and harder to smudge. It’s quite lightweight and builds easily without clumping. The pigmentation is great, a very deep dense black. One coat of the mascara gives a very natural look but additional coats add intense volume. It’s essential that if you want more than one coat that you apply the second coat before the first one dries. Fortunately, it dries quite quickly. I really like this mascara. It creates volume, without feeling heavy. It doesn’t make my lashes stiff or weigh them down. My lashes look more vivid with extra volume and more length. I’ve had no smudging or flaking. I’ve worn it all day and trialled wearing it when swimming, peeling onions and napping. No transfer. Being waterproof, I needed a good makeup remover to take off all the product. Garnier Waterproof Micellar Water or the Nivea MicellAir Gel did the job without harsh rubbing. At my age my eyelashes are becoming more sparse. I’m really enjoying my lashes looking fuller with extra length and definition. I think this is going to be just what I need in the humid, sticky Auckland summer. I would definitely buy this mascara again and would recommend it to my friends.

I haven’t used Maybelline products in 10 years and first of all price is amazing!! Excellent product in this price range.

First it’s packaging makes it simple to use, but there is an overwhelming smell of chemicals with this product that I haven’t smelt with any other mascara before.

Did it do as it said? Well it didn’t last 36hours (yes I left it on while I slept one night to see) but it was definitely still there when I washed it off before bed at night.

It didn’t give me volume as such but made the lashes more defined, didn’t flake at all, but definitely made them pop!

Would I use again? Yeah I think I would as like the effect it had on my lashes.

While I didn't intentionally wear this mascara for 36 hours, it definitely stayed on my lashes for a day or two! I usually use a makeup removing cloth to remove my makeup, and it didn't fully come off with that.

This product is a classic black colour, which is my preference for mascara. One thing I noticed immediately was that it clumped my lashes up very quickly, with only two swipes after I'd taken the excess product off the brush. I was able to tidy it up a bit with a lash comb, but it was annoying to have to do. I know that this is a volumizing mascara, however I don't consider clumping multiple eyelashes together as 'volumizing.'

I didn't notice much mascara rubbing off during the day, which was better than other mascaras I've tried - especially as I overheat easily and tend to have oily skin around my eyes. It also held up pretty well to a sweaty 2 hour contortion training session. One of the reasons I choose not to wear mascara as often as I'd like to is that it rubs off onto my skin whenever I wear it, but this mascara may actually change this for me.

I did have a lot of trouble getting this product off my eyelashes completely, but I do kind of like the residual mascara effect. This is probably due to me using a product-free makeup removal facecloth rather than a dedicated eye makeup remover, but is something to keep in mind with this product.

Pros: Sticks well to lashes!! Wand is a good length and flexibility for application.

Cons: Clumped my eyelashes together. Hard to get the excess off the brush.
