I was pretty excited to get to trial this mascara as I love a full lash look. Thanks to lash serum I now have quite long lashes but I love the extra oomph a good mascara can bring and the mention of both lengthening and volumising had me intrigued.
The soft rose gold packaging is beautiful and gives it a luxe look. The mascara wand itself was just as impressive looking, the long brush boasting hundreds of bristles shaped to a soft curve. The formula is jet black and quite thick. All these were quite promising features.
I actually found this mascara quite hard to apply in that one application doesn't deposit that much product. I found to really get full coverage of all my lashes and both volume and length promised it takes me several coats. The Paradise mascara does get points for not clumping or flaking through the coats and it does eventually product a dramatic, full lash look.
Personally I wouldn't use the Paradise mascara again myself or recommend it. When it comes to mascara I want to be able to apply one or two coats and be good to go, not have to fuss and layer mascara and get in close to the corner lashes. While it does manage to do what is advertised the time taken to achieve it isn't worth it for me when there are so many other successful competing products on the market.
I love the packaging for this product its a smooth copper coloured tube making it feel a bit more high-end than the standard drug store tubes. The wand is quite big and reminds me of the 'Better than Sex' mascara wand, it applies easily and catches every lash ensuring they are coated evenly.
The formula of the mascara is quite smooth, not too thick or runny - it will be interesting to see how the formula ages and how quickly it can thicken once opened. The mascara does separate and lengthen my lashes but I didn't find that it did much for volume - it was lightweight on my lashes and didn't go brittle and flake off throughout the day. Even with a few coats being applied in the morning.
After a day of wear it didn't smudge or give me a panda-eye look at the end of the day. Would definitely recommend for a drug-store mascara but prefer my Benefit mascara a little bit more for volume.
Tips: Rotate your wand slightly when applying to ensure the lashes are fully coated.
