The Australis Metallix range is my current eyeshadow obsession. The Metallix Eyeshadow in Gold Gaga has been on my lids everyday for months, and I currently don't have a single eyeshadow or palette on my wish list. If you are after something stunning, high quality, and have been thinking about placing a Colourpop order, READ ON.
After swatching the Australis Metallix Eyeshadow in Gold Gaga, it was love at first sight. I purchased both Gold Gaga and Guns and Rose Petals. Both shades are stunning - with an amazing, high quality formula. They are thick and creamy, yet blend easily. These shadows are so, so highly pigmented, I am in disbelief that it could be achieved for $9.95. The shadows are very versatile, a little goes a very long way and I apply them with my fingers. A tiny amount of product results in a slight shimmer, which can be build up to full on glam. I personally use an average amount of product, blended over a neutral eyeshadow to create a lovely, bright shimmer that I personally choose to wear for an everyday look.
Of the two shades, I reach for Gold Gaga far more often. It is a warmer, bronze shade, whereas Guns and Rose Petals is a cooler, more silver shade. This is purely personal preference.
These shadows last all day, with no eye primer. Please note, I don't have oily lids and I have no trouble with products lasting in this area.
These shadows are very similar to the Colourpop shadows, but are more pigmented. If you are thinking about placing a Colourpop order, I suggest swatching these first. I personally rarely reach for my Colourpop shadows, in favour of Gold Gaga.
The Australis Metallix Eyeshadows are my favourite eyeshadows, and quite possibly one of the highest quality products I own, even though the price tag is tiny. This is a must have for any makeup lovers collection.
I have one of these eyeshadow in the shade plum diddy. Seriously love the names of These! This shade is a beautiful dark eggplant with red glitters in it. It's very intense on the eyes but absolutely gorgeous.
The packaging is very similar to color pop. It's in a screw top container with a clear lid to see the colour. I much prefer the black container compared to colour pops white one. The texture of the shadow is quite similar too. I think these are slightly creamier though.
I've tried to wear this in a few ways, with different eye primers, powder shadow underneath and even powder shadow in a very similar colour on top. Unfortunately, no matter what I try, it creases really quickly and just looks so messy. I can't even get a full hour before this starts transferring and creasing on me. I do have slightly hooded eyes that are oily but generally eye primer makes shades behave on me.
I love this colour so much but I can't recommend it at all. I do have to say that the balmsai palette by the balm has a very similar shade in it. It's just a little darker and without the pretty red glitters but still a bit shimmery.
