Thin Lizzy

I personally don't like this as an all over powder foundation, It applies quite heavily making you look like you've just slapped a whole heap of nutella of your face =/ BUT, I love this to even out the complexion (of my foundation) down my neck. It's amazing for that purpose, and that purpose alone. It's a terrible bronzer, terrible eye shadow and a terrible lip colour. But amazing for evening out your complexion :)

Tips: Go halves with a friend or a relative (that's what I have done in the past) so it's not so expensive.

Thin Lizzy

Like others have said I found this went orange way too easily (I have the light shade) but worse than that it seemed to accentuate my wrinkles! I feel like it made me look ten+ years older. I wouldn't recommend at all, especially for the price.

Tips: Do not buy it!

Perfect for the pale feet!

This has been around for years, in one incarnation or another. As most of the reviews say, it doesn't do what the infomercials say it will - no surprise there! However, if you have pale skin, this is absolutely brilliant for brushing over the tops of your feet - you can make a light colour, or build it up to a darker colour.

Tips: I buy a tin when I spot it on special - give the eyeliners & lip glosses to my 15 year old niece, and the tin to the eight year old. Voila! everyone's happy.

Gotta have Thin Lizzies

I have been using this product for 6 years now, I am not sure how long it's been around but I wouldn't go anywhere without my thin lizzies on! for real I love how the bronzer makes my skin glow and looks like I have a tan.. I have used light and dark and they pretty much seem the same to me and I am quite pale for a polynesian.. But in saying that, Im not really too keen on the eyeliner and lippy, because the lippy is too sticky, and the eyeliner keeps smudging.. but that;s just my opinion.. Overall I would give it a 8/10 because I love the foundation so much xo

Tips: You do need to use concealer before applying thin lizzies to get that cover finish, I do use concealer most times but the times I don't it doesn't really matter. But yeah I still gotta have my Thin Lizzies, regardless xo

Made me look like an oompa loompa

I got this years when I was being bombarded by advertising for it. I was so disappointed as it was way too orange for me and did not do what it said it would. I gave it to my Mum (who has darker skin than me) and she quite liked it as a bronzer on top of her foundation. Would not recommend. I agree about it being very expensive for what it is as well!

Tips: Beware if you have pale skin!!

not worth it

im quite pale so i welcomed the chance to see if it would really work as ive had so much trouble finding makeup shades that fit, but it was way too dark and found the only difference in my skin was the colour and it just made me look ridiculous

Love it or Hate it.

Ahh Thin Lizzy... this product is definitely a love or hate one. I first used this when I was about 16 yrs old (8yrs ago) and absolutely hated it. It was very orangey and very tricky to use. I too looked like an ompa-loompa so it went to the bottom of my makeup bag and was forgotten about.Years later I was given a Thin Lizzy set and decided to give it another go. This time I had a friend who happened to be a makeup artist who showed me how to use it correctly. First, less is more. You dont need very much of the product at all. I start with the apples of my cheeks and light dust them, then blend upwards along my cheek bones. Then I lightly dust my nose, forehead and chin, and blend in using little circular motions. Finally I put a little bit on my eyelids using my finger. I think this product is better as a bronzer like others have said and you definitely need to practice a bit to get the hang of it and not turn out looking like an ompa-loompa.

Tips: Less is best!

Not worth the price

Like many reviewers below, this was one of the first makeup products I started out with, recommended by the beauty lady at the pharmacy. I used it for about a year, before I discovered better products and moved on, but I do occasionally use this when I feel the need for a bit of nostalgia.

If you're in any way fair, this is WAY too orangey and dark to use all over your face, even just as a light dusting of bronzer. I used this (lightly) around the edges of my face (doing the whole '3-E' routine) in an attempt to look a bit more defined. If I used it lightly enough I could kind of get away with it, but it is very orange-toned, plus it's slightly shimmery, so it's really not the best for any kind of contouring.

If you have a darker skintone, you could probably use this as a general bronzer/warm blush, but it just doesn't work for that on fairer skin.

You can do the whole "use as eyeshadow" thing, but to be honest, the colour isn't flattering on my eyes, and it just looked muddy and unappealing.

As for the things that come with the powder: the lipgloss is extremely thick and sticky (which does mean that it stays on forever), and has a strawberry scent. Not really my thing. The double-ended eyeliners are actually not bad - nothing out of the ordinary, or particularly long-lasting, but they're nice staples to have around. The sturdy metal tin is probably the best thing about the whole deal - I have a special edition one which is really handy for keeping bits and bobs in. :)

Overall: if you're willing to pay the rather large price, then I don't see any problem with trying it out, but I do think it's more likely to work for you if you don't have really fair skin.

Tips: Buy it with a friend so that you can split the price and the products. :)

Used it for years

I have used Thin Lizzy 6 in 1 for approximately 6 years instead of foundation as part of my day to day makeup regime. I tend to still use a foundation when going out for special ocassions but find Thin Lizzy meets all my requirements for everyday use. My skin tends to get dry when I use foundation and I have found using Thin Lizzy as a powder gives my complexion and even all over finish without drying it out. I also use the black eye pencil for my eyes as an added bonus and give the lip glosses to younger members of the family.

Wouldn't purchase again

I started out using this years and years ago before I really knew anything about makeup and what else was out there. It was ok to use a young girl who didn't know better, but it is not something I would every repurchase now and I think the price is pretty hefty for what it is. I also think the 6 in 1 advertising is a bit ridiculous. It is a bronzer. Full stop. Also (on me) tends to be quite orangey looking. It isn't very easy to blend out either and can look quite patchy. Not for me! (anymore hehe).
