Garnier Micellar Water Fan!

I purchased my bottle from a local supermarket and have since encouraged my 17 yr old daughter who has sensitive skin to use it as well. The bottle was easy to open and use straight away. I applied a few drops to a cotton make up pad to remove my make up and also used it when my skin needed a freshen up. After applying my skin felt refreshed and soft especially after a long day being exposed to the elements and my daughter's skin (sensitive skin) has not had any reactions! Win win for all!!!

Tips: Apply using cotton wool or cotton make up pad.

My go to

I’ve been using this product ever since it was released. Great for sensitive skin, affordable and lasts a long time. Not the best at removing eye makeup however it still does the job.

Might be Holy water for some, but not for me

After hearing the mostly amazing reviews of the Garnier Miceller water, its no wonder this product has been on my radar and my wish list for almost a year. I was always tempted to purchase it online, but never did so when this product became readily available in New Zealand; of course I had to try it.

First impressions? Well it comes in a massive bottle which is made from a clear plastic, and has a pretty pink lid on top. The packaging is simplistic and understated, but I actually quite like it. The see through bottle lets you see the liquid inside that some are referring to as ‘holy water’, and I suppose I get the reference because it does just look like water in regards to colour and consistency. On first look, it seems like mine had fine particles floating through it which looked like dust of something. Not sure what it actually was though. I thought I would also mention just how foamy this cleanser is, and the reason I found that out was because I dropped it, and the whole air space of the bottle filled up with a bubbly solution.

The first time I used this; I just applied it to a cotton pad and then wipes the pad over my face and oh.my.gosh. I was shocked to see how much makeup came off. In fact, I actually ended up using 3 or 4 wipes to get all the makeup off, but I was so impressed. I do follow this with cleaning my face just with warm water because the thought of leaving cleanser on my face doesn’t make sense to me. This quickly became the product I reached for at night, until about 3 days after when my skin started breaking out like crazy. A bit of background about my skin, about from being sensitive, its pretty well behaved with blemishes mostly being confined to my t-zone. Or so it was until I stated using this product and my skin became bumpy everywhere. Not great. This product is great at removing makeup, but my skin just doesn’t like it. I will finish the bottle off because now I used it with a cotton bud to remove mascara and makeup mistakes when I get ready and it work really well for that purpose without my skin getting upset. Definitely worth a try, because if your skin agrees with this, I think you’ve just found a new favourite product.

Does The Job

I haven't really jumped on the Micellar water band wagon in the past, however this one came in one of the BRBB so I guess it was time to jump on and try it.

I use only BB/CC Cream on my face and quite thick black eyeliner under my eyes and this seems to do a good job at removing them. It does take a couple of applications (mainly on the eye area) but it removes the majority of it. I use a cotton pad first and then I go in with a cotton bud to remove the remaining stubborn liner.

It doesn't irritate which is great, so no stinging or burning, and I have sensitive skin especially under my eye area.

It doesn't really have a smell to me, maybe slightly fragranced but not enough to pick out a scent. It is very watery (which is why it is called micellar water I guess lol), so be careful when squeezing the bottle.

Overall, quite happy with it and it is at an affordable price and easy to find in your local supermarket or warehouse etc.

Garner Micellar Cleansing Water

After hearing all the hype over the past year about micellar water I finally caved and gave this one a try. This was different to my usual cleansing routine (I usually use a cleansing oil to remove my makeup). On a simple makeup day it removed the surface layer of my makeup quite well, which after a double cleanse did leave my skin feeling clean. On a heavy makeup day this form of cleansing made removing my makeup quite a long process, having to use several small cotton rounds to remove my foundation and heavy mascara meant a lot of time pulling at my eyes to still have traces of both left over. I did find this product was great at refreshing my clean face in the morning or to get off lipstick and eye shadow with ease.

It doesn't leave an oily residue which is great and it is fragrance free which is great for sensitive skin. The smaller size bottle makes for easy travel and perfect for smaller makeup removing jobs. It does an effective job at refreshing a fresh face, removing small amounts/a light face of makeup but I will be sticking to a cleansing oil as it takes half the time with a better result.

Tips: I would only use this as a first step makeup remover, still cleansing with a face wash afterwards to make sure your skin is fully cleansed and all traces of makeup is removed.

Micellar Cleansing Water

When I first received the bottle I must say I was a little disappointed in the bottle, it looked a little cheap. Straight away I tried a bit of the water on a tissue and my face instantly felt so soft, I used it again before bed and likewise my face featl very soft. Now baring in mind I do not use makeup, I can not comment on the removal but as a cleaner I was happy. I used the product every night and was very happy with the cleaning it did. Howv er when I used it in the morning before my shower while my skin did feel cleaner I still felt the need to use my regular cleaner and give my face a good scrub with the face cloth. I do suffer from a bit of hormonal acne even at the age of 41, so would like to try the product a little longer to report on how it reacts with my hormones. In short I would give it an 80% as I did love the way my skin felt after use, and the ease of cleaning :)

Tips: Not owning cotton swabs I just used tissues and it worked well

Removes makeup wonderfully

I have been using this for about a year now, and really like it. It works so well at removing eye makeup and face makeup in general. It usually takes 2-3 cotton pads to get everything off my skin, but it does such a good job. A lot of other products leave some eye makeup behind but this leaves my face totally without makeup. It's also so cheap, you get so many uses out of the huge bottle!

Tips: I always use a gentle cleanser like Cetaphil afterwards, since I don't like leaving it on my skin.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

I have been using this everyday for the last 2 weeks and I am pretty impressed. I usually wear a pretty full on face of makeup and I use a wipe to get a lot off then I will wash/cleanse my face and use a eye makeup remover to remove mascara eye liner etc then moisturise and go to bed but I have started to use this instead and I am super surprised with how well this product removes my makeup I soak a cotton pad in the cleansing water and gently rub it over my face and it feels so nice, refreshing and takes no effort at the no scrubbing just light swipes and my foundation, concealer, brows, lipstick liner, mascara & eye shadow are gone and my skin feels super fresh & clean.

It really does remove they're real mascara!!

I enjoy that I don't have to rinse my face after and that my face feels fresh and clean and super hydrated unlike my normal wash which leaves me dry and tight.I still like to wash my face first and use this after to get off excess product the my wash missed.

400ml bottle says 200 uses for $9 from feelunique.com great value for money.

The packaging is super cute a large clear plastic bottle and a cute wee pink cap which is very sturdy/secure snaps up and down. It has the lightest baby oil scent and you can tell it is slightly heavier than water but it feels like water on the face. It is lovely.

Love it

I really loved the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. It got rid of all my make up very easily, including mascara and left my skin feeling very fresh and soft. Often after removing my make up I feel like there is still some left on my skin and I have to wash it again but not with this product, it's great and I would highly recommend, in fact, it will be a permanent fixture in my bathroom!

Tips: Use cotton pads for best results!

I really wanted to love this

I was so determined to get my hands on this after all the hype about it on the makeup obsessives page. But It hadn't been released in Nz (it was due to release about a week after I purchased it). I found it on the hikosencara website and without any hesitation I put it in my cart. It was roughly $20, it could have been a wee bit more but I didn't know any better and didn't think any thing of it untill I told my friends about it. They then went on to tell me that when it releases in Nz it would roughly be $13 so understandably I was a little disappointed. Anyway....

I had been using it to remove my makeup (as you do) and I was loving how quick and easy it was. It removed all of my makeup with ease, I even used an oil cleanser afterwards to see if there was still any makeup that the micellar water had missed but the cotton pad was clear. No yucky left over makeup, just clean skin and a white cotton pad. I had used it roughly 6 times and it had barely used any product. I was so impressed that I actually went out and bought another one (never hurts to have a backup right).

Well a couple of days later, I noticed my skin had broken out, really badly. My forehead was the worst. I had huge red bumps all over it :( It was the worst breakout I had ever had. They slowly started to appear on my cheeks and onto my chin aswell. I carried on using my micellar water and they just continued to get worse. I immediately stopped using it and tried to let my skin breathe for the next few days so I didn't make my breakouts worse.

It took weeks for them to heal and settle down. I haven't touched the micellar water since and have just started using my skinfood cleans all again and it has made a huge difference.

I'm really sad that my skin didn't agree with this product. I loved how easy it was to remove my makeup at the end of the day. I will definitely give the micellar water another go, it just wont be the garnier one.
