Smooth Dreamy Creamy

I was lucky enough to pick this up in the last vault, and it fast became a favorite.

This color is pastel brownish nude tone. I feel that it looks surprisingly glamorous on the lips, I love it and I reach for it a lot when i’m wearing a full face of makeup. It looks really bizzare however, if you’re wearing a very minimal amount of makeup, you gotta go heavy to pull it off.

The packaging is simple, practical and stylish, with a sturdy plastic tube and a traditional, ‘regular’ sized doe-foot applicator.

The consistency is quite creamy, glides on smoothly and dries quickly. It’s not quite opaque, but nearly after a couple of coats. It feels really light on my lips and is non-drying.

Wear wise, touch ups are required after eating, but it seems to cling on reasonably well.

I love this lip paint, this color, and i’m setting my sights on a few more colors from the range.

Yeah I think the brand originated in NZ but I thought they were produced in the US... Where in NZ can you get them? Would rather get them here if I can!

On their website you can change it to NZ$ and you get free shipping for over NZ$40, so I think it's shipped from NZ.

Matte Magic

After learning about Mellow from BR, I decided to purchase one of their liquid lipsticks from their site. The colour I have is New York, which is a rich, dark, bold, plum shade.

The lipsticks come in a clear, glass tube, with a gold lid, and Mellow written in gold on the glass. The applicator is a doe foot, and it makes the lipstick really easy to apply, and really easy to draw on your lips with.

The formula is nice and thick, and not streaky (unlike some other liquid formulas), and lasts pretty well. After wearing it for a while I only noticed it had warn off in the corners of my mouth through drinking.

The formula also feels nice and light on the lips. It is not sticky, or very drying for a matte lipstick. I am proud that such lipsticks have been created in New Zealand and I cannot wait to own more shades!

Budapest

I have been delving in the liquid lipstick range for a little while now. I'm glad to have my hands on this brand. It comes in a sleek tube that has the logo branding in gold writing down the tube with a gold lid which has the doe foot applicator inside it. The shade is a deep brown nude which is nice but more a fall shade since we are now meant to be in spring however I'd still wear it. The application is quite simple & easy ti glides onto the lips not streakh ir sticky at all nor is it pathy. Such a good quality of application. As it sits on the lips it again doesn't have a sticky or slick feeling & having a matte finsih it doesn't seem to suck they hydration from my lips at all. Doesn't feel or show any sign of cracking in the lips. Has very good pigmentation & has a good length of longevity does need to be topped up after greasy meals but would uphold a few drinks of coffee. I'd happily repurchase from this brand again. It isn't a creamy lipstick such as Ofra but definitely a goody.

Amazing colour

I should confess, I fell in love with these before I even tried them - the colours are just so incredible!

But I have now got two different shades - a pale pink (Rome) and a dark purple (Tokyo). I was really surprised to find the formula was a lot creamier than any lip paints I've tried before, but this is great for my dry lips. The colours were really intense and it seems like with a little patience to allow layers to dry, you could build them up to an amazing intensity.

On the downside I did find the lip paint didn't stay put particularly well, instead wiping off on things even when I expected it would be well and truly dry. Also because of the intensity of colour it is going to take a very steady hand to apply it properly (instead of just the quick job I did today as soon as the package arrived in the mail!), as I had darker bits where more product had come off the brush.

But patience and practice pay off with beauty products (I'm looking at you, liquid eyeliner!), so I'm sure with a bit of practise I'll find these the most amazing product in my arsenal!

Tips: I've been told about something called invisible lip liner that can really help keep your lip paint in place. I'm off to find one for myself now!

In love with london

I haven't tried these lip pains before and picked it up in the vault.

It comes in a box with gold writing. Which I don't think is needed really if the put a decent seel over the lid.

I love this colour. I found it a bit tricky with the sponge applicator I would have preferred a brush in it.

It goes on well and lasted a decent amount of time given eating and drinking was still pretty good.

Definitely make sure you have exfoliated your lips first as I noticed dry patches stood out a bit.

Going to check out the other colours

Gorgeous!

I am not a lippie wearer but when I saw this in the Beauty Vault I decided to give this a go. I am so glad I did as it is fantastic. I got the shade Milan which is a pretty pink colour.

It comes in a clear tube with a gold lid. Simple but attractive. It has a doe foot applicator which makes applying so easy especially for beginners like myself.

I found it was quite creamy and applied to my lips like a dream. I have dry lips so was a bit worried at how it would look. There was no patchiness at all and it was very nourishing on my lips. There was no sticky feeling and it dried quite quick.

I found it lasted quite long on me and did not have much transfer at all. I did not have to reapply and the only wear I could see was in the corners of my mouth at the end of the night.

I love that Mellow is made in NZ and is cruelty free. I would love to try more colours from this range.

Mellow Lip Paint in London

I was fortunate enough to grab this baby from the latest vault. I have wanted at least one of these for such a long time!

I have not really used a lot of lip paints but I am happy I got this as it is one of my favourite lip colours.

It comes in a very classy clear glass tube with a stunning gold lid. You can see how much you have which is a bonus, so you can see when you need a new one.

It has a sponge applicator which holds a good amount of product. It goes on very well and dries to a fabulous matte finish.

The lasting power I found was to be amazing. I didnt have to re-apply as often as I usually would wearing a lipstick. I always use a make up remover to take off my make up and I do need it for this lip paint.

I am very happy with this lip paint and will be purchasing more colours to add to my collection.

Tips: It is always good to use a lip scrub a couple of times a week.

Highly Surprised

I don't own pink lipsticks or liquid lipsticks so when this came up in the vault I knew I had to give it ago and step out of my comfort zone.

London is a very rich pink and is quite bright on myself, I don't know how much wear I'll get out of it for myself but have put it aside for when I feel like being a little bold! I however purchased it again for my kit as well for other reasons.

The formula is lightweight, it's not a thick lip paint and apply beautifully to the lip. Drying almost matte but not completely. I find there is some transfer.

It's long wearing! Other than having to re apply it after eating it really lasts the whole day without having to do to much to it at all.

The packaging is beautiful. Simple but elegant. Clear tube so you can see what's in the tube and a gold lid. Standard for foot although I use a brush to apply it.

Other than this just not being my colour I can't fault it. Mellow have done a great job with this shade.

Tips: Applying with a brush makes the application easier

Worth It

Received this in the last BR vault haul. By reputation and a couple of other products that I have tried from Mellow, I had relatively high expectations for this product.

Packaging has a gold top and a see through barrel so you can see the shade of lip product. The shade name is on the bottom. Doe foot applicator. No scent, not that I can smell anyway.

Application: Smooth, easy and even. Not patchy, or sticky at all, no need for second application. Dries down in a couple of minutes. Finished look is flawless. A firm top 5 of my lip products. I would repurchase and would like to try other shades in the range.

Beautiful soft matte lips!

I was lucky enough to get the shade "london" from the beauty vault - I actually had no idea what colour it was but it's a lovely rose pink!

I actually am not a fan usually of liquid lipsticks as I find them too drying and usually by the end of it want to rip my lips off. This was NOT the case here.

Mellow lippies are soft and hydrating. Their still a tiny bit drying but nothing like others i've tried.

Good prep is still needed with a lip scrub and a nice balm but overall I really enjoyed these. The lippy lasted 8+ hours through meetings WITH me drinking coffee. So A+ for staying power.
