I had a colour done prior to using the product so it was good to see how my colour reacted. Happy to say I still have the gloss! Conditioner is good - I generally need a lot as my hair tangles easily - and this detangled and smoothed out my hair no worries. Only thing I would say is that both the shampoo and conditioner could be a little more fragrant. A slight chemical smell could put you off but the results are pretty good for keeping your colour fresh!

This is a pleasant smelling shampoo and conditioner combo. Both products were light and left my hair clean, so much even that I could extend having to wash my hair by another day. The shampoo goes a long way, so it is good value for money. I wish it did protect my hair a little better in terms of retaining colour though.
I always use L'Oreal Elvive when i cant afford my usual salon goodies. Its awesome!! Such a good price for a decent product.
Tips: Best buy for beauty on a budget :)
Hair felt clean but didn't leave it soft. It was quite frizzy afterwards. It certainly wasn't shiny
I used this product when I dyed my hair vibrant red. It did make the colour last longer and brighter than a normal shampoo/conditioner duo but it still faded and had to re-colour fairly quickly.
Tips: I say this for all conditioners - leave on for as long as possible for best results!
To be totally honest, l would never have bought this, myself. My Mum gave it to me so I used it, but never again. The conditioner is relatively good, in that your hair is detangled, but the organics i use feel far better and do a better job. The shampoo contains sls (sodium laureth/lauryl sulphate) which us a cheap foaming agent which dehydrates your scalp and hair. It left my hair frizzy and annoying, and the roots greasy. I didn't find the colouur lasted any longer, but to be fair, I only used the one lot before I went back to organic, simply because it leaves my hair softer, shinier, less tangled and generally looking better while not dehydrating my hair and scalp.
Tips: While I would not say these products are fabulous they are, better than your average, cheaper shampoos and conditioners, but I do prefer my sls free products. If you're after something better quality than most supermarket products, but don't want to shell out for salon products, these could be a step up. Be aware though, if you're prone to oily scalp/greasy hair, sls in your hair products may be the culprit!
Found the shampoo to be quite drying on my fine hair. The conditioner made up for it though and they both smelled lovely. Hair was left feeling healthy and shiny.
I'll admit it, upfront...I'm a cheapskate. I'll buy the cheapest brand that promises the results I want and expect them to deliver....and they usually don't. I remember an older version of Elvive from when it was a 'salon only' product and I used to use it when I stayed at my mum and dad's place...and used to steal it off my mum :)
I wouldn't usually fork out to buy Elvive so I was pleasantly surprised when I tried it. It smelt amazing and left my hair silky and smooth- and really glossy. I usually use a protein product to add a bit of moisture to my hair but I actually didn't need it after using this product. I colour my hair myself and definately need an extra boost for my ageing hair! I would buy this (maybe on special?!) again for sure!
Tips: Don't give it to you 11 yr old to use...it's too precious!
I have to admit when my redken runs out this is the first shampoo and conditioner I get. It really conditions my hair and keeps the colour vibrant. Makes my hair feel really clean after but doesnt help with my frizzness though
Tips: the mask conditioner is good for leaving on the hair overnight.
I find the L'Oreal Paris Elvive brand overall to be the best supermarket shampoo I've used. The Colour-Protect made my hair super shiny and healthy looking! I would say, however, that it didn't tame the frizzies that much so for me it's a toss up between keeping my colour healthy or keeping my hair smooth and slick!! I chose slick hair! I would however recommend that if you are looking for a shampoo and conditioner for colour treated hair it's worth a try!
