Essie have a great selection of colours. One of my favourite light pink polishes is from Essie and although a light colour, i only ever need to apply one or two coats. Always applies super smooth and lasts a pretty long time on the nail. Doesn't chip often'either which is always a bonus.

Fave nail polish brand

I love my Essie polishes and would recommend them to anyone.

I find the shade range to be good but no better than other brands (OPI etc). I don't really notice any difference between chippage with different brands. The areas that Essie does way better than other brands is the brush and the consistency of the polish. For these reasons alone I'll continue to buy Essie over other similarly priced brands.

I think Essie brushes are a tiny bit smaller than other brushes which allows me way more control when I paint my nails. If I'm using a red or a dark colour, I'll only use Essie otherwise I spent more time cleaning up around my nail than actually painting.

I find that all of my other polish brands get "gluggy" far earlier than my Essie polishes do. I've some Essie polishes for years and the consistency in the bottle is still the same as when I first got the bottle.

One of the best nail polishes

I have several Essie nail polishes in a variety of finishes. Most of them are iridescent or glittery finishes, as that is what I prefer, but I do have a couple in a gel-like, shiny finish.

Most Essie polishes come in clear, square glass bottles with white lids, although I do have one in a twisted glass bottle that looks really cool. The older Essie polishes that I own have quite small brushes that take a while to apply the polish. The newer bottles I own have wider, flat brushes that can cover my nails in 3 strokes, which I really like.

These polishes dry very fast. This is especially good for the gel-like finish ones which can look streaky with only one coat. The polishes layer well. I can apply up to three coats without the polishes looking heavy.

The other great thing about Essie polishes is that they take longer than other polishes to chip. They tend to last for several days before any signs of wear start to show, and that is without taking any special care and just performing day to day activities. They have a paint smell, like all polishes do, but it is not overpoweringly strong.

Altogether I think these are very good nail polishes and some of the best that you can buy from department stores.

My favourite brand of polish

I love Essie polish! The formula is creamy, it's very easy to apply and it doesn't chip easily, especially if you put on a base and top coat. It can be a week before I see any signs of wear. I prefer the shade range of Essie over their main competitor, even though the range available here is smaller. I also love the the brush applicator, I find it much easier to apply using Essie's brush shape. I usually apply two to three coats of a colour. These polishes also dry pretty quick which means I can get on with my day. I usually wait for a sale to purchase some, as there can be some really good offers on. Chemist Warehouse often has a really good discount on Essie, and Farmers generally has 'buy 2 get 1 free' or a free gift with purchase. I would highly recommend this brand of nail polish!

One of my Top Nail Polish Brands

This was my first Essie Nail Polish to try, and I love it, and ever since I bought a few more after. Essie Nail Polish is one of the top brands for Nail Polishes for me! They come at a great price point and they are always affordable, and I love the bottles they are super cute and fancy looking.

If you are planning to buy this to do at home French Nails, I wouldn't personally recommend this for French Nail Polish style, but I would recommend it as a full nail colour! It's beautiful and super easy to apply it on, and the actual nail polish liquid lasts so many years and doesn't go off at all and doesn't start looking weird. it's very much worth giving Essie Nail Polish a go.

Longlasting

Fun range of colours at a good price. This is sych a good quality product, and compares well to competitors such as OPI. Darker shades chip more easily, so maybe use minimum of 2 coats and consider a clear top coat.

Hands down the best nail polish

I have used a lot of nail polishes for years and always chip after a day or so. This polish dries fast and lasts a couple of days!! Glossy shine, large range, fast drying, I prefer it to all those 2 step hybrids. I am keen to try the Essie ones of those. I have quite a few Essie colours since they became a bit more affordable.

Tips: I always file my nails and wipe them with isopropyl alcohol before painting. I also always use base coat, 2x (sometimes 3) colour coats and a top coat. Occasionally, I push back my cuticles for the best results. Also, apply cuticle oil daily - this care helps polish stay on longer in the long run

Essie Nail Polish Review!!

Love is an underestimation of how much I love this nail polish! Perfect consistency, such a pretty colour range from neutral to bright I love every single colour! May come pricey, may come cheap but perfect for its amazing quality!

White is the New Black

I've loved the white nail trend I've been seeing all over the red carpets lately, and this nail-polish lets me achieve my own sophisticated look from the comfort of my own home!! The polish is quite sheer in texture, requiring two to three coats to really build to an opaque (almost twink-like) white. I'd avoid going much over this, because it does get awfully thick (and very stubborn about drying) when you apply too much. The brush is a lovely paddle-shape, which spreads to cover a lot of area very easily. Altogether, a really lovely polish with a lovely smooth finish, and a great way to stay on-trend, right down to the colour of your nails!!

Tips: Use a base and top coat for a smooth, shiny finish. Apply 2-3 coats to get an opaque white, but avoid going over this as the polish becomes thick and difficult to set!

The perfect neutral pink!

I have a few of Essie's bright colours in my polish collection but after trying this I can see why people rave about this neutral colour. It is a 'your nails, but better' colour. It makes your nails look really healthy and polished due to the slightly glossy finish. It would be perfect for job interviews, weddings or any time a neutral nail colour is needed.

Like all Essie polishes it is DBP, Toluene and Formaldehyde free and goes on like a dream. With this particular colour you do need a few coats to get the perfect colour as it is a light formula and can look a bit streaky. I also found that it can take awhile to dry completely so just allow a bit of time or use a fast dry top coat.

I have found that it stayed on my nails well (with a top coat) and didn't chip easily, I was very impressed with this polish and will continue to have this staple colour in my collection for many years to come.

Tips: Use three coats to get the best colour and make sure it is streak free.
