This is our family favourite - particularly being water resistant for 2hrs. The whole family can use this, including my son who has minor eczema issues from time-to-time (mostly from fragranced products). SPF40 is a good level of protection, and while we use this (and any) sunscreen in conjunction with hats and making sure skin isn't exposed too much in the sun, our pale skin hasn't been burnt while using this sunscreen.
It's a non-greasy formula, so I don't find it overly transfers to clothing or leaves an oily mess or stains. It absorbs well, though the kids look great rocking a more 'zinc' look while it absorbs. For a less 'shiny' look, and if I'm also wearing makeup, I tend to use their primer over top of this sunscreen, so foundation sits nicely on the skin.
Being natural and vegan, and none of the nasty chemicals it's also safe for the holidays at the beach as there's no polluting the water with the sunscreen. Great for Fiji etc.
I really like all the Oasis products, especially their sunscreens - this Sports version is the favourite though with its water and sweat resistance.
Another great product from Oasis. I’m a firm believer in their fantastic Rhino Repair cream being an all-rounder for any lump, bump or rash. Oasis products were actually recommended to me by other BR reviewers in a forum one day. I’ve never looked back.
I have incredibly sensitive skin so I have to be very cautious with the products I use. After researching Oasis there were some key stand-out points that leapt at me through my computer screen. Firstly, and most appealing for me was that they support the Eczema Association New Zealand. Secondly, their ingredients. Where possible their ingredients are all natural. Obviously sunscreens need certain additional products in them to be effective, however they’re still all organic ingredients. A perfect example of the quality of the natural products used in their formulas is within the Oasis Sun SPF 40 Sport – “South Island artesian NZ water”. Not just standard aqua, pure NZ artesian water. Thirdly, Oasis products are not tested on animals and are New Zealand made.
Leading up to summer I was searching for sunscreens and that’s when I spotted that Oasis has a vast range of sunscreen products. After having such success with the Rhino Repair, I went into the pharmacy and purchased the Oasis Sun SPF 40 Sport and the SPF 30 original formula. Both products have been fabulous over the hot, sticky summer months. The SPF 40 sport really steps up to its sweat resistance and the 2 hour waterproof ability. The best thing is it dries quickly, and, its non-oily formula meant that once the kids got wet they didn’t rub sunscreen in their eyes. There is nothing worse than sweating on a hot day and your sunscreen runs into your eyes, it’s so painful and awful to remove. I’m really loving the sun smart tips on the back of the tube; cover up, stay in the shade where possible and peak burn times. Fabulous. It’s also almost completely odourless, just a slight zinc-like smell. There is only one downside I came across with the SPF 40 sport, it leaves your skin quite white. This will be a part of the protection it offers – waterproof and dry-touch, however it’s not exactly attractive on the face. You’re left looking very ghostly and pale. Small price to pay in my books though for a really effective product that protects and is gentle on skin. A definite must-have product for anyone venturing outdoors this summer.
Skin is something we only have one of in our lifetime, so finding safe, effective products to protect it is so important. A product like the Oasis Sun SPF 40 Sport doesn’t come along every day. Make the investment for your skin today. “Sensitive skin saviours” – Oasis.
Tips: If applying to the face, do so in a mirror to ensure you've rubbed as much in as possible to avoid looking too 'ghostly'.
