MAC Pro Longwear Foundation Review

One of my favourite foundations from Mac! Amazing coverage and super easy to use, personally I found it quite drying for my skin but with a couple of sprays of fix+ it looked perfect! DEFINITLEY a medium coverage but some would consider it full coverage, I'd recommend a buffing brush of some kind for this foundation as I've found using a sponge isn't that effective really.

Stoked. I got this foundation a couple days ago as I have been using Studio Sculpt as it's recommended for dry skin but I just couldn't get any longevity out of the product and it would move on my face especially around my forehead and mouth so I thought I'd give this one a try and so far so good. The finish is flawless and it's not too heavy but gives a great full coverage which I need.

I love Mac Pro Longwear Foundation. A friend recommended it after I had previously used Studio Fix Fluid but it wasn't available where I was, and I'm glad she did. I apply it using a brush or sponge and set it using a shine control powder as I have quite oily skin. It gives flawless coverage and really lasts awhile. I also like mixing it with my BB cream cream to give a lighter coverage for daytime, leaving full coverage for night or special occasions.

This is a good foundation, It gives good coverage and is long wearing. It does have a very obvious matte finish but if you like that look then it is great, very similar to studio fix foundation just with slightly lighter coverage - which I prefer as it can be built up easily.

This is a medium to full coverage foundation and is the foundation I currently wear everyday. My shade being NC25. Ive used nearly half my bottle in about 4 months. I find it drys fast so make sure you have a good brush application and technique. I apply mine with a pointed foundation brush and brush it out with a stripling brush. I personally love this foundation as it covers my red spots and my uneven skin tone but dosent leve my face looking like it been covered in a plastic coating of falseness haha.

Here I was thinking for sure I was going to be a NC shade when I sat waiting for my colour match but the NC ran too orange on me and the NW was perfect! Ah the joys of being shade neutral and translucent in colour.

Packaging this is a pretty foundation coming in a glass bottle with a black acrylic lid that doesn't come with a pump as standard but I purchased one at an additional cost as it is easier to use and more economical with less waste from over spilling the contents when applying.

Formula wise this is a full coverage foundation and the consistency is perfect not runny but not to stiff either. What I mean is I pump out the liquid onto the back of my hand and then apply it from there with a brush or sponge however I am feeling that given day. Applying it to the back of my hand the pump of foundation sat still and didn't run from side to side off the back of my hand as some cheaper alternatives do and my poorly stained beauty area is victim from them.

Being longwear in their pro line of makeup I wasn;t surprised that the foundation not only stayed put and lived longer than my energy for the day but also wasn't drying or tightening like some other high end professional foundation so it feels like a mask on your face. This offer full coverage, with no streaking, it sits nicely on my combination skin without cakey on the dry areas or letting the shine spill on through from the oily areas. It also did all of this whilst feeling lightweight and covering all blemishes and darkness. Very impressive! and well worth the price tag if you ask me.

I have twice now had a bad colour match by MAC staff so perhaps that's why I feel a bit mixed about this product, I found the coverage is excellent and I don't need concealer when I use it which is great. I did struggle to blend it to my neck, perhaps this is because the colour match was not correct so I have to be careful with my tan and can only wear it when I'm on day 3-5 of my tan cycle!. It did remain tacky for some time after application which I found slightly irritating when it came to applying contour and blush but did dry a bit after 10 min. I have oily skin and this product reduced shine all day and stayed put like no other makeup I've tried. Generous bottle size also is a plus and I'm a sucker for a good pump application. Going to try and get a match one more time before I give up and try another brand.

It works well, says what it says it will do and will stay on with the right primer. But I always felt like I could never get the exact shade I needed no matter what I did. I also felt like it wasn't that light weight and it didn't blend well. I'm onto the DW now.
