It's Hair Removal week at BR and we're on a mission to banish unwanted body hair. We've got some amazing trials as well as a very cool competition coming this week so stay tuned! First up we're putting the original handheld epilation device to the test.
When it comes to wanting a longer lasting result, your at-home hair removal choices are waxing or epilation.
We break down the pros and cons of the four popular at-home hair removal methods here. Both waxing and epilating boast up to 4 weeks of smoothness in exchange for a little pain. They are also both the more time efficient way to remove hair. Where they differ is that epilation doesn't affect the skin in the same way as waxing (which requires a wax to be applied directly to the surface of the skin) so epilation is considered best for sensitive skin.
The Epilady Jewel (RRP:$210) features an innovative circular spiral. The rotating coil vibrates at a high spead and quickly removes hair with precision and efficiency. It has two speeds and is rechargable - meaning you can get down to business without pesky cords getting in the way!
We're looking for 10 great reviewers to put The Epilady Jewel to the test and to report back to us with their verdict.
If you're lucky enough to nab a spot on this trial team, here's some tips:
- Skin should be clean and dry, free from body lotions and potions.
- Stretch the skin taut in the area you're focusing on.
- Use circular motions and focus on one small area at a time.
To put your hand up for this trial you'll need to take a really quick survey for us, so we can pick the best candidates for the job.

So, what is your preference when it comes to semi-permanent hair removal? Have you tried epilation before and if so did you like the results?

I really want to try epilation. I usually shave because I can do it in the shower etc but i really want something that will keep the hair away for longer because when shaving it only lasts a day or two in my case. So hopefully if I tried epilation it would mean I could go longer without having to maintain.
