Is This The CUTEST Trend EVER!?

I go gaga for dimples. I love them. I think they're cute. Sexy. Sweet. Fun. Flirty. Adorable. All the best adjectives, dimples are it. As a youngster I would stick my fingers into my cheeks hoping that with enough time and pressure dimples would make their way to my stubbornly rounded cheeks. Alas, I was out of luck. Thanks to the power of genetics I was destined to be dimple-less.

Apparently I'm not the only lass obsessed with dimples, with a dimple challenge taking over Tiktok, resulting in 1.2 million views of #dimpletrend, as beauty-loving TikTok lovers take up the trend of creating fake dimples. Naturally, in the name of 'research' aka eternal dimple envy, I gave it a go...

What you need

We love a trend that's easy to do (gym lips, I'm looking at you!), and this one falls into that category. Basically the key to creating the look of a dimple is to contour it in, so for that all you need is a concealer, contour crayon, brow pencil or even eyeshadow that's a few shades darker than your natural skin tone.

How to

According to the TikTokkers the trick is to draw a super small semi circle on either side of your mouth where your dimples would be, then take a brush or sponge and gently blend it out.

The result

As directed, I used my NYX Wonderstick Contour Crayon and applied it using a fine tipped makeup brush (since the crayon's super thick and no good for micro-contouring), then gently dabbed it out with my makeup sponge. And here's the results:

Before                                                    After

Did it work? Well, yeah, kinda. I definitely think you see a deepening of the very right cheek, the left cheek barely changed, and the contouring did something unexpected in that it emphasised my pigmentation in the area below where I created the illusion of a dimple. Something I don't need to be emphasising, thank you very much. However, despite it's con (for me) I think it's a super cute and easy to achieve look. One I shall continue to envy from a far.

So, do you think dimples are to die for? Are you tempted to try this trend? Or is this not for you? Get chatting below!

I think dimple are cute but also only cute because they are kind of unique and not everyone has them. So i'll leave them for the OGs to enjoy.

I have dimples and when I was younger I hated them but I now think they make me look a little more youthful (I hope).
