Brow trends and I have never been besties. I didn't prescribe to the over-plucked brows of the 90s. Heavily made up Instagram brows of the mid 2010s seemed like too much work. And apart from trying "feather brows" for funsies, the rest of the brow trends passed me by without me raising an eyebrow, let alone drawing one in, or getting on my grooming over and above brushing my brows with a tinted gel. Until now.
So what's changed my mind? What brow trend has me going "yes, this is the trend I've been waiting for. The trend that was made for me"? Introducing barely-done brows.
So what are barely-done brows? The clue is in the name. Brows that are super low maintenance. They're also my brows. I have been doing the barely-done brow trend my entire life. Which, on the whole, has entailed reaching for tweezers, plucking two above and three below on one side. Then plucking three above and one below on the other side. Saying to myself, "yeah, that's better". Then going on with life.
And you know what? I think that's all we need to do. Yes, we could spend hours tweezing away to create perfect brows, coaxing our distant cousins into identical twins, but who has the time? And all that effort could be put into something else... like watching my new favourite TV Show, The Bear.
Speaking of The Bear. That's where you'll find perhaps the most beautiful example of barely-done brows:

Claire, played by Molly Gordon, sports brows that look like, well, mine. They're not perfect. They've not seen a beauty therapist's bed, or tweezers, or waxing implements, or thread. They're the brows of a busy woman who's doing what she has to do to get by and no more. And they look fab.
Does that mean you can skip all the brow products? If you want to, sure. Although I still prefer my tinted brow gel for when I'm heading out or heading into work - mainly because it takes a gentle breeze or a quick, thoughtless swipe of hand to give me brows that Oscar The Grouch would be proud to call his. There is a difference between barely-done and completely undone, after all.
So my browed-up beauties... are you a fan of the barely-done brow trend? Is it one you've rocked before it was a "thing"? Or do you prefer to keep your face framers in perfect condition? Chat below!
I do love a natural brow look. I now have to add colour to mine because they seem to be fading!
