It's Ombre week at BR and on Monday we asked if you would ombre at home. Lots of you are keen to give it a go, but some of you seemed a little wary of playing around with different shades on your own hair.
We know many of you are regular at-home hair colourers, and we can see from some of your BR profile pictures, some of you have the skills to pay the bills. But how many of you are game enough to attempt more than a regrowth touch up, or an all over simple colour change?
We love multi-shade styles, it's probably why we love ombre so much - gone are the days of wishing you were blonde, or wishing your were brunette - you can be both! And of course, you don't have to stick to traditional ombre - how about graduating from say, a deep maroon to a bright and light red? Or shading from your natural colour down to something crazy like bright blue?
L'Oreal Preferences Wild Ombre is a great way to Ombre at home, putting you in charge of the look you want to create! The key feature is the unique application technique, by way of a patented brush. Seriously, you literally brush it in! Find out more about the process in our article DIY Ombre. It's easier than you think!
Now if you're tempted to put your hand up for this one, you might be thinking - "Will it work on my hair?". We're going to ask all interested members take fill out this survey, but before you do here's some points to consider!
- Ombre generally looks best on shoulder length to long hair.
- Wild Ombre kits work best on light brown to medium blonde hair.
- Wild Ombre kits work best on virgin (uncoloured) hair or hair that is not highly coloured. So if you're a regular at home colourer with layers of colour on your hair, you risk not achieving the desired result.
- DO NOT use Wild Ombre on very fine, fragile, sensitised or straightened hair, or just after a permanent wave. Do not use on hair that is coloured with Henna.
Ok - so are you interested in joining the L'Oreal Wild Ombre trial team?
Remember you need to take this survey to be considered!
Over to you - do you colour you hair at home? How ambitious do you get? Would you attempt a two tone (or even a three, four or five tone) style by yourself or do you think it's best left to the professionals? Are you particular about where and how you place your highlights/colour changes or do you just wing it?
