This week at Beauty Review, we're all about getting clean with Simple!  Our aim is to convince everyone that finding the right cleanser is essential for their skincare routine.

Yesterday we featured the Simple Micellar Water and today we're showcasing something completely different. A Cleansing Oil.

Those that have already discovered, and fallen in love with cleansing oils, will no doubt think of them as the superhero of facial cleansers.  They not only cleanse the skin, they do what many other gentle cleansers can't - they thoroughly remove make up.  You might be wondering how on earth slathering oil on your face can clean it right?  We know it seems backwards but read on!

Your skin is always producing and secreting sebum, even when it feels dry and flaky it's still producing natural oils.  If your cleanser is too harsh, it will not only clean your face, but strip it of natural oils - your skin then thinks it's not making enough and begins to overproduce oil.  Now if you have oily or acne prone skin you're probably thinking the last thing you would want to do is add more oil.  This is where a little scientific premise comes in.  Like dissolves like.  So when you use a cleansing oil, the oils in the product dissolve and remove all the built up dirty oil and replace it with fresh, nourishing oil.

It's important to use cleansing oils correctly - you use them differently from foaming cleansers.  You apply the product to dry skin using your hands, massaging in nice upwards motions.  Leave the oil for a minute or so before adding a little water, then rinse with warm water.  Voila, clean, balanced and healthy skin!

We're putting Simple Kind to Skin Hydrating Cleansing Oil to the test. Made of 100% pure grape-seed oil this product gives a deep cleanse without leaving a greasy feel.  Like all Simple products it's perfect for sensitive skin with no harsh chemicals, no artificial fragrances or colours.

Sounds pretty good right?  So if you fancy a place on this trial team, why not tell us if you've ever tried a cleansing oil before?  If you haven't, why not?  Does the whole concept seem too strange for you?  How effective is your current cleansing routine and do you think switching to an oil would prove more beneficial?

I am really curious about oil cleansers as I have never tried one myself but have heard mixed reviews on them. I love the Simple brand, so I would love to have a try

I LOVE oil based products. I feel they leave my skin feeling clean and hydrated. So far I've used products from Lush and Antipodes that are oil based and I loved them. I'm always keen to try out new products, and this one sounds like something I'd love!

i have never used an oil cleanser as I think they would leave a greasy feeling on your face. I have tried baby oil as an emergency makeup remover and it left my face feeling greasy so I think that has put me off but I would definately like to try a different product. Im sure an oil cleanser would be good for your face as it would be very nourishing on the skin

Have never used an oil cleanser but it sounds very interesting. Would love to give this product a go. Would be a tad worried about weather or not it would cause breakouts, but wouldnt know till i tried it.

I used the Lipidol oil cleanser but reacted to it due to my sensitive skin. Would like to try one again. I used to use almond oil to remove my makeup but today's make-up formulations simply don't clean off using it anymore.

I have to admit, a cleansing oil really scares me. I have quite oily skin and putting more oil onto it gives the the heebie jeebies. Very interesting however. Would like to give it a try and see if it can control my skins oiliness! Currently I use an exfoliating cleanser at night and it works okay for me but by the end of the day I am nice and shiny! Always open to trying new things, so would love to give this a go!

This was really interesting to me, I've got dry skin and have always gone for a cream cleanser but my fave brand is no more, I'd like to see if an oil cleanser would be as good as a creamy cleaner and maybe good for my skin

I have never used an oil cleanser because my t zone is a bit oily, but now that I am older my skin is drying out so this one looks promising.

Hmmmm never tried a cleansing oil before - sounds counter-productive as I have naturally oily skin so haven't tried or wouldn't have thought it would work...a little strange but willing to try for sure! If it works I would be a converter to a oil cleansing routine :-)

I've never tried a cleansing oil before. My skin can get quite oily so I guess the idea of using an oil has put me off. I would be quite keen to use a good oil cleanser to see what all the fuss is about and whether it improves my skin.

Never heard of an oil cleanser, my cleanser tends to strip my skin, and I definitely have to moisturise shortly after cleansing. Love to try this
