This week at Beauty Review we're sharing some of the Beauty Crew's favourite products with you.

Yesterday our Chief of Bright Ideas Merilyn shared her pick - the gorgeous Glasshouse Fragrances Tahaa Vanilla Caramel Candle.  (Not quite a beauty product, but one does not disagree with the Queen!)  Later on in the week BR's Moderator and Resident Beauty Therapist Zoe is bringing you her secret to perfect brows and our in-house Beauty Writer Tabatha has chosen a powerful multi-tasker for your face.

Which leaves me, the First Lady of Beauty Review, Natalie.  (Move over Michelle O...) I've chosen my ultimate mascara which also just so happens to be second place in our Top Ten Mascaras as rated by you - the Eye of Horus Goddess Mascara.

Somethings in life are hard to find.  U2 still haven't found what they're looking for.  Maybe they're on the hunt for the perfect pair of jeans.  I don't know a woman alive who doesn't struggle with that.  So when you find a pair that flatters your curves, fits both your short legs and dis-proportionally skinny ankles and are as comfortable as trackpants; you do what any sane gal would do.  You buy at least three pairs and stash one pair at the very back of the drawer in case you find yourself in a post-apocolyptic world and in need of a new pair of jeans.  (Jeans shopping is bad enough without having to fight off Zombies).

For me, finding the ultimate mascara is right up there with finding the perfect pair of jeans.  I want something that will lengthen and thicken my lashes, that stays on through all situations but comes off when I take it off.  I want something that is kind to my lashes and will help them grow as I use it.  How hard can that be to find?  Turns out quite hard.

This is what they say about the Eye of Horus Goddess Mascara. "It's naturally formulated in the style of the ancient Egyptians.  It's designed to accentuate and enhance the natural beauty of your lashes, our Goddess Mascara wont irritate eyes or sting and coats lashes evenly. It conditions, nourishes and strengthens lash structure to assist with lash growth".

And for once EVERY WORD of the marketing blurb is the truth.  Ok so you might think $44 is a bit pricy for a mascara, but when you use it everyday and it ticks every box and then some, it's a steal.  I'd pay more for it and other than a few things like Christian Dior Dolce Vita and a pack of Jammie Dodgers this is not a statement I make lightly.

So after 14 years of searching I have found the can't-live-without-it mascara I've been looking for.  Eye of Horus Goddess Mascara is the bump to my grind.  The hip to my jive.  The Edge to my Bono. And by Dior I would fight off a hoard of zombies and mummies for it. Or at least ask the Hubby to.

And because we're sharing - we're looking for a trial team to give us their verdict on the Eye of Horus Goddess Mascara.  Want to put your hand up for this team?  (Trust me you do!) Tell us your thoughts!

Have you tried Eye of Horus Goddess Mascara yet? Do you agree with Natalie and rate it as one of the best, if not the best mascara you've used?  Or maybe you don't believe any other brand can top your ultimate mascara?  What is your favourite mascara and are you loyal to it, or are you always keeping a sneaky eye out for the next best thing?

When I finally run out of subscription box mascara's I'm going to get this one as I've heard such good things about it.

Omgosh it's so hard to find a mascara that makes my eyelashes stand out and at the same time not make my eyes itchy. Would love to see if this stands up to the test though.

I've not tried this mascara before. I'm currently using Avon SuperShock Max. I can honestly say its pretty good! Makes my mini lashes look pretty impressive. The wand is also pretty cool and does a good job. Would love to try a good quality mascara to see the difference.

This article really rang true with me! I've been searching for yeeeeeears for my perfect mascara.. and still havn't found it. To me, mascara is probably THE most important make-up item, if I had to pick only one thing to chuck on my face before I left the house it would have to be mascara. My favourite to date is the Lancome Hypnose Drama, however its still not completely perfect! Would love to find out if this Eye of Horus mascara is 'the one' I've been searching for all these years!

I'm always on the look out for new mascaras - I have quite long and fine lashes so something that doesn't clump or irritate is always high on my wish list.

This sounds amazing i have naturally long eyelashes and im yet to find 1 that works well with a natural long curly look would love to try

No wonder I haven't heard of it, I wouldn't consider paying $44 for a mascara unless I was absolutely 100% sure (well ok maybe 98%..) it was going to do everything it said, because I have been sorely disappointed before! I still haven't found a fave, I change each time because I haven't been entirely happy with it, but maybe that's because I'm being stingey! Would love to try this one to see if it lives up to the hype :)

Sounds amazing and the bottle looks very classy! I'm a fan of the revlon beauty tubes just love the look they give my little lashes :)

5th August, 2014

I would love to try this!! I have basically given up on mascara (the ones I've tried tend to clump and make my eyelashes look all stiff). Would really love to see if the higher end stuff like eye of Horus is more to my liking!

5th August, 2014

i am always curious as to whether these are any good with short lashes would love to know, am sick of buying mascara that promises it will work but doesn't i have so many mascaras :(
