Do you regularly use body butter?

When you hear the term 'body butter' you probably think of words like - Rich.  Creamy.  Treat.  Yummy.

There's no denying there is a certain expectation (and excitement) that comes when you bring home a new body butter. Firstly - the smell.  Whether it be a deep cocoa or shea smell, or a fresh and fruity smell, when it comes to a body butter it better smell good enough to eat!  Then comes consistency.  We want it to be thick, creamy and light.  Think the meringue test - if you can hold a body butter upside down and it doesn't fall out the tub the consistency is probably spot on.  And then the most important bit - the results.  Body butters should make us feel like we're cocooned in moisturising goodness.  Our skin should be left intensly hydrated, dry patches should be magically smoothed and we shouldn't be left feeling greasy.

Body butters are generally based with a nut oil and are essentially whipped like, well, whipped cream, to give a rich and intense moisturising product.  You can make them at home from as few as two ingredients.

Butters are best used on the body, as they can be too rich and clog facial pores.  And not only are they good for general body moisturising - they are great as an emergency lip balm or even in lieu of a massage oil.

We're putting the dual purpose Tui Balms Coconut and Aloe Body Butter to the test.  This gorgeous product works equally well as body moisturiser or massage butter. The semi-solid consistency provides ideal friction for massage, eliminates spillage and improves the flow of the massage.

It's the hypoallergenic formula contains olive oil, cerified organic coconut oil and NZ beeswax, aloe vera, shea butter and vitamin E.

Sounds fab right?!  Well we need members to put it to the test - does it sound like the trial team for you?

So let's hear your thoughts on body butters - what do you love about them?  What makes a 'good' butter for you?  What areas do you use them on?  Most of all - do you use them regularly or are they a luxury treat?

I love using body butter after a nice hot shower or a soak in the bath and especially if you can then go an sit in front of a fire or curl up under a snuggle rug. It is the best when you can cover yourself in refreshing body butter not only to moisturize and replenish your skin with nutrients but also to give it some gorgeous feel and smell. For me that means alot and is an ongoing never ending challenge with ongoing hospital visits and heavy medications affecting my skin. I always back up the body butter with a moisturizer as sometimes they can get heavy but the main thing is refreshing but not overloading as i have sensitive skin and even though I have had people say they are to heavy for my skin I have only found one that was and that had like a wax in it but I have used Tui balm and Body Shop and a couple of others and they have been fine.

Sounds fab! My poor dry skin hates winter :(

I love a good quality body butter, one that can be massaged in and not go all bitty if over massaged in. Some of the cheaper ones tend to be OK for moisture but not good for massaging for this reason. I love the BodyShop ones, they have such amazing scents and are great for massaging out knots and kinks after a long day. This out sounds like it would smell amazing and give great moisturising benefits at the same time. I would love to give this one a go.

I use Vaseline lotion which I have found to be a great moisturizer. I have a balm from Tui and I know they do have quality products.

I've never used body butters before. I have been someone who does the minimum for my body but now find that products like this is a necessary thing to make my skin feel soft and moisturised. Please can I try it to assist me with my skin rebirth.

I just love body butters and have quite a few in my bathroom that I use every day. They make my skin feel so soft and smooth. Love all the different smells. I have never heard of this brand before so yes would love to try it and see how it compares to others.

I'd like to try this ;0

Love body butters. Initially it is the scent that entices me but the feel on my skin is also satisfying. I use body butters mainly in my feet to prevent dry skin on my heels however also use on my legs which get very dry. I would love to be considered for the trial and think the ingredients sound very user friendly with those with sensitive skin such as I have.

I used lotions for all over but body butters when my skin feels extra dry and for those areas that need a little bit more love - elbows, legs, feet. But I hate greasy creams so the Tui products sounds perfect

I love body butters. I don't use them as often as I'd like to but this one sounds like just what my skin needs. Will be keen to see the reviews

I LOVE body butters except I am hesitant to purchase them because for some reason companies always make them overly scented. I love the feel of them on my dry skin, they are such a relief, but am yet to find one that isn't too overpowering.

I love body butters! My skin is generally quite dry especially after shaving and they help so much with the itching on my legs. I would love to try this as I'm currently out of buttery goodness.

I love using body butters in Winter when my skin needs a bit of extra hydration. I've never thought of using them as an emergency lip balm, would love to try that! They definitely have to smell divine and be super creamy, the bonus is when the absorb super fast as well. I don't think I've ever tried a coconut one - sounds divine and like the perfect Winter pick me up.

I'm a lazy girl so I mostly use body conditioners in the shower. They're great on a daily basis but I do like to use something a bit more intensive on a weekly basis, usually after a bath.

I get such dry skin so I love body butters! Have not found one that I would repurchase yet and I have tried a lot. I do love Tui products so would love to try this especially over winter when my skin suffers badly
