Do you set your foundation with powder?

Face powder used to be a staple beauty product - no lady would be caught without her compact - what would she do in the powder room?!

But a few years ago powder seemed to become a bit of a forgotten item, lumped in with other 'nanna' products like Rose Water and Cold Cream.  But like all good things, they seem to have a way of coming back in style.  Watch any YouTube tutorial and chances are they'll 'set' their foundation with a powder.

We're going to be putting the Moisture Mist Translucent Pressed Powder to the test.  This product is perfect for keeping your makeup fresh and reducing oil sheen. It's so handy and compact and has a built-in mirror, meaning it's perfect for on-the-go touch ups.

So if you'd like to put your hand up for this trial team, why not tell us your thoughts on powder - who uses face powder these days?  Does this product still have a solid place in your make up routine?  And if you do use it, what format do you prefer? Does the compact still rule? Or has loose powder taken over?

Face powder - neccessity or nanna?

My foundation lasts a lot longer with a powder - plus I get oily so it's a necessity for me! Being shiny sucks!

Yes I find that powder helps to keep everything looking much better for longer - also makes it easier to touch up if needed

This is a must for, simply to keep the oily t zone under control and help hide my broken veins.

I always set with powder, my face feels less sticky and i can spread and blend my contour alot nicer

Powder was something i never knew would add such value to my make up routine! I always thought it was a waste of time and felt cakey on my skin 99% of the time, i was totally using it in the wrong way of course! I then started to use powder to set my foundation and concealer and then moved to applying it over a BB cream which in turn gave such a beautiful effect! I still love the compact, as it is the perfect thing to carry in your bag and of course, it has a mirror 75% of the time which is indeed handy. However you break the product you get a messy handbag, which is a downfall of loose powder!

I always set my foundation with loose powder to help absorb some of my natural oily shine and make my make-up stay on for longer. Pressed powder is great for emergency touch-ups.

I find that if I don't set my foundation with powder my face becomes oily.

23rd April, 2015

I always set my powder with foundation, mostly because I prefer a matte finish and powder gives me the best results. I also find it gives my foundation extra staying power.

I HAVE to use powder to set my makeup as I have really oily skin. I only use compact powder.

Ooh this looks good! Would love to try it to see if it lasts, the compact powders I've tried only keep the shine away for a couple of hours. I always use compact powder now as I prefer a matte finish.

Ive only recently started using a powder again. It sets foundation perfectly

Setting my makeup with powder is a MUST-DO every single day. I am often out at work and other things for a long time between touch-ups so the more I can get out of my makeup wear the better. Powder helps my foundation to last as well as combating and absorbing excess oil on my T-zone. I would love to put this product to the test.

I sometimes set with powder if my foundation is quite dewy, but definitely use it more often for touch ups throughout the day. I am trucking my way through a loose powder atm, but hate the mess it makes when used with a big fluffy brush

I actually didn't know you're supposed to do that...learned something new today. I'd love to give this a try!
