Lime Crime Eye Liner

I picked up a couple of these on a whim in Dunedin, of all places.

I have two blue shades - Lazuli (a bright royal blue) and Milk Blue (pretty much a neon sky blue).

Like the majority of Lime Crime products, these come in cute packaging - in this case, slim clear tubes with white caps, emblazoned with black dots, and the brand name scrawled inside a thought bubble. The very top of the tube features the unicorn logo, while the base has the shade details. The shades are very visible through the base part of the tube.

Colours are very vivid on - though the Milk Blue needs an extra layer for max impact. They set and dry without bleeding, wear reasonably well, and come off easily with the addition of a little moisture.

Where they fail, for me, is the brushes. They have lovely, easy to hold handles, and a sturdy long wand, but the wee tuft of non-tapered bristles is unwieldy - a tapered or pen-style point would have made these a thousand times easier to work with.

I wouldn't repurchase simply because of that - I'd go the Sephora ones instead

I was so excited to purchased this liner as I am a big fan of Lime Crime products and the crazy shades that they come in. I picked this one up in a light blue shade, Im not too experienced with liquid liners but I thought why not?!

The tube was small and I had a hard time holding the small wand. The liner itself is very pigmented in colour and long lasting. I put this on in the morning and it was still perfect when I went to take it off at the end of the day. The liner smelt pretty rank though, sort of smelt like paint which I thought was a bit weird as the lipsticks by Lime Crime smell so divine. I also didnt like the brush on this liner. It was quite messy to use.

Overall these are a good idea and they come out in a wide range of shades but I do believe that the formula and brush needs a few tweaks for my liking.

I have this eyeliner in the shade orchid. It is a vibrant purple shade. Definitely not something to wear if you don't want your eyes to stand out.

The packaging of this is adorable. It's quite small, more like a deluxe sample size really but you wouldn't use a lot of product at one time so it will last a while. The tube is clear so you can easily see the color and the lid is polka dotted with a cute little unicorn print on the very top.

This has a small brush tip which is quite easy to use. I can't manage a super skinny line with it but i can do a reasonably thin line. The color is very intense so you don't need to keep going over it to get the color bright.

The finish of this one is matte and it dries down quite quickly. It doesn't transfer on any other part of my lid which is great because I have oily, slightly hooded lids and a lot of liners transfer on me. It lasts well on me all day, if I rub my eyes, it can slightly come off but otherwise it lasts well.

Although I do enjoy this liner, I can't really recommend this brand at all. I have no respect for the companies owner and while I'll happily use this, I would never repurchase it.

Pros: This eyeliner is true to its guarantee of being extremely black. You need only one maybe two strokes to get a strong, jet black. Which is good when you are trying to do bold cat eye liner. Really good.

Cons: It isn't water proof (which isn't great when using eyeliner in my opinion). You sorta need that water proof factor around eye moisture.

The bottle is tiny and there is not much product

The brush is TERRIBLE. I have been doing immaculate eye liner every day for years and years (over 10 now) and the first day i used this flimsy piece of crap brush my lines were wonky and awful. You cant get a firm grip on this brush. Again, the brush is terrible.

So all in all, formula is ok/good but the application and quantity is lacking. Probably wont buy again for that reason

The pro: I brought the color Quill (the black one) The packaging is simple cute, feels sturdy, doesnt feel or look cheap. The product is opaque, goes on smoothly, dries quickly and to a matte finish, last all day. my only con is the company not the actual product, so i dont want to continue buying limecrime products.

I remember the first time I heard about Lime Crime, it wasn't the lipsticks that appealed to me, it was the liquid liners! But what put me off buying the liquid liners is how only advanced makeup artists would use these, I held off for a long time before taking the plunge, I purchased one to try incase I didn't like them from beautybliss.co.nz. I brought Lunar Sea which is the white liquid liner.

With all the liquid liners I own I was shocked at the size, it is about 1-2 inches shorter than my regular liquid liners but the packaging is so creative and artsy. The lids are covered in polka dots and they are so adorable to look at.

The formula is thin but you only need a small amount. The brush reminds me of a thin detailing brush and the smallness of the liquid liner actually makes it easier to control. I find using small strokes made is easier to use and you can go back and fill more in before it sets. Once the liquid sets it wont budge until you use makeup remover, it does not crease and it stays there all day. I like how the tip of the brush is a perfect circle so you can use the tip to create polka dots anywhere, it is also great for small detailed work which is what I mainly use it for.

I am excited to order more of these in the future, Lunar Sea is the brightest, pure white liquid liner I have ever seen. The formula, the quality and the packaging is incredible.

I have heard so much about Lime Crime lipsticks and eyeliners and have been very close to buying but could never had courage to buy one thinking dark and bright lipsticks may not suit me. However eyeliners did sound like a safe product to try and I immediately jumped into the wagon of owning one. I bought mine from a Lime Crime store in Bangkok. The packaging is very attractive and slim. The clear bottle indicates the true color of the one I bought in Quill a perfect black. And polka dots cap is very appealing and vibrant.

The brush is very slim and glides easily on the eye lid, for the first time I could get winged line without having to apply number of times. I was so impressed with it, I normally use gel eyeliner where I have to be very careful of attaining precision on the lines I draw but with the Lime Crime liquid eyeliner I could glide the brush to the right shape and thickness easily.

It doesn't smudge, however after applying the eyeliner I was curling my lashes and some eyeliner got stuck to the curler. This was a bit disappointing as I had to reapply that section. Despite this I love the formula and consistency of this LC liquid eyeliner and definitely impressed with the brush. I won't shy away from buying more colors now.

I was lucky enough to receive this as a gift from a friend. But you are able to get it from the Lime Crime website directly for USD$14. I have the colour Quill which is a dark black.

The packaging of this is great. A clear bottom section so you can see the colour through it. The lid is white with black polka dots which is very cute. This eyeliner has a fantastic brush to apply it. The brush is very thin and long so it is nice and bendy to be able to attempt the infamous cat flick (although I still can't master it). I love being able to get an extremely thin line on my top lash line.

The product itself is fantastic. Deep deep black, and once dried it still manages to have a reasonably glossy finish. Once this has dried it is on. Although it isn't waterproof it manages to stay on all day without cracking or running, or transferring onto the top of my eye. Although it has great staying power it is still very easy to remove which is great, just a swipe of a makeup remover and your done.

Can't wait to pick up another one of these, might be the gold for me next.

This eyeliner is incredible. I got the colour quill. I was very tempted to buy the gold as well though. It is very easy to apply and stays on all day. The line looks sort of wet all day, when it is completely dry too which is exciting as I have not yet found another eyeliner which does so. It really makes your eyes stand out, whether you are aiming for an out there look, or a more casual look. I love love love this eyeliner and would definitely recommend it.
