Who doesn't love an online list?  World's Weirdest... Top Ten Most Expensive... Things You Didn't Know About...

Well we thought we'd bring you, our list-loving members, a list that's not only relevant - it's been dictated by you!  Here's our list of the Top Ten Cleansers in NZ* as rated by Beauty Review members!

1. Olay Regenerist Advanced Cleansing System - 4.8/5

They Say: Olay Regenerist Advanced Cleansing System is a revolutionary cleansing device from Olay. The two speed rotating brush delivers up to 4 times better cleansing than manual cleansing*, clearing away dirt and makeup to deliver an advanced cleansing experience that’s gentle on skin.

You Say: This product has completely changed my skin from acne ridden and scarred, to clear, smooth and even.

I put this product to the test by cleansing my face with both a cleansing oil and foaming cleanser, and then rinsed it as if I was about to tone and moisturise. Instead, I applied more cleanser with the Olay system and the white head was tainted brown with make up! This is incredibly gross to me as I would previously have slept with this make up still on my face.

After using the Olay cleansing system for over two months, my skin is now completely clear. The results are amazing and I will continue to use this amazing product.

2. Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm - 4.7/5

They Say:   Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm a lightweight makeup remover that quickly dissolves tenacious eye and face makeups, sunscreens. Transforms from a solid balm into a silky oil upon application. Cleans thoroughly, rinses off completely. Non-greasy. Non-drying. For all skin types.

You Say:  This product is my all-time favourite holy grail makeup remover! Like they say, its a balm consistency which transforms into an oil when you put it on your face. I like to massage it into my face, dry or slightly damp and then rinse off.

This product is fairly pricey for a makeup remover but i think it is WELL worth it! I use it on full face makeup days to remove every trace of makeup which it does perfectly. It is smooth, doesn't have an offensive scent and is non-irritating. It also leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth unlike some makeup removers which leave my face feeling quite dry and 'stripped'.

I have just repurchased my 3rd pot of this stuff and will continue to buy it for a long time yet!

3.  Trilogy Age Proof Active Enzyme - 4.6/5

They Say: TRILOGY Age Proof Active Enzyme Cleansing Cream contains a unique blend of natural fruit enzymes from papaya and pineapple which gently break down and remove the build up of older skin cells and impurities. Licorice and mulberry brighten and refine skin tone while pure plant oils nourish and soothe.

You Say: This product doesn't disappoint.

The smell and texture is lovely, it goes on smoothly. What I love about this product is that it not only cleanses, but it contains fruit acids which work to remove the dead skin cells. The active ingredients are active fruit enzymes, jojoba esters, and vitamin E.

I have definitely noticed that my complexion is smoother and brighter since using this product.  I think this product beautifully compliments my anti-aging skin regime.

4.  Trilogy Sensitive Very Gentle Cleansing Cream - 4.5/5

They Say: Thoroughly removes impurities and makeup (including eye makeup), it leaves skin soft, soothed and beautifully refreshed.  Combines natural spring water, chamomile and camellia oil, rich in essential fatty acids, with pure plant oils to gently and thoroughly cleanse your complexion without irritation.

You Say: I adore Trilogy and have yet to find a product they make I don't like. So I was pleasantly surprised that this did not disappoint.

It's a cream rather than liquid solution. Does that make any sense? I am used to almost soap like textures from cleansers so was unsure how this almost moisturiser would work. But work it did!!

Like most trilogy products it smells amazing and is now part of my night time (10 mins for me) get ready for bed wind down.

5.  Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser 4.4/5

They Say:  Independent clinical tests using CETAPHIL  Gentle Skin Cleanser undiluted has shown it to be one of the gentlest non-soap cleansers. Its special formulation won’t sting your eyes and can remove light make-up without clogging pores.  Developed to be used with or without water, CETAPHIL Gentle Skin Cleanser is pH balanced and lanolin and fragrance free.

You Say:  I have been using this for around a year and since first use I have been in love. I once had very oily and dry skin, it was very irritating as some products would help some areas but never others. After using this I had lovely soft and very clear skin.

This can be used for all over acne and as a whole body cleanser. Very good for people who suffer from acne or oily skin on their back or chest area.  I would 100% recommend this to anyone who has any kind of skin issues or acne.

I spent years looking for a product like this and I want people to know about it so they can share the benefits too.

6.  Clearasil Daily Clear Superfruits Refreshing Wash - 4.4/5

They Say:  Clearasil Superfruits Refreshing Wash a kind-to-skin cleanser that helps keep skin clearer. It contains a blend of raspberry and cranberry extracts, known for their antioxidant properties, and Vitamin B3. This foaming cleanser is infused with a refreshing fragrance you will enjoy using every day.

You Say:  Firstly, the smell is divine. Couldn't wait to have a shower and wash my face. I have been using this morning and night since I first got it.

The wash lathers fantastically and this is the first face wash I swear I can feel removing the days make-up and grime while using it. My face felt so fresh and clean afterwards I didn't want to apply make up for the day.

After just a few days I have visibly noticed a reduction in pimples (yes, I still get them!), and my skin had a lovely glow to it.

7.  Trilogy Cream Cleanser - 4.3/5

They Say: TRILOGY Cream Cleanser is a simple one-step cleanser to thoroughly remove makeup and impurities from face and eyes without drying.  Contains evening primrose and certified organic rosehip oils and aloe vera for skin that is smoother, softer and beautifully refreshed.

You Say: It has a soft creamy texture and emulsifies really well and smells quite pleasant, you can definitely smell rosehip oil and even a hint of lavender.

It removed my make up really well, including my heavy eye make up, without leaving much residue, which I'm assuming is due to the high oil content.

I have dry/damaged/sensitive skin and it left my skin feeling moisturised, soft and clean, it didn't irritate my skin at all, over the weeks that i have been using it.  The price is in the average/middle range for skin care, and the packaging is really handy with it's pump feature, you don't go squirting out too much product that you don't need which I love :)

8. Neutrogena Naturals Fresh Cleaning and Makeup Remover - 4.1/5

They Say:  Containing Peruvian Tara Seed Bionutrients Vitamin A, Vitamin B, Vitamin E and complex sugars whi leaves skin soft and rinses clean. Cleans skin and removes makeup in one step without stripping skin’s natural moisture (developed for fragile skin around the eyes).

You Say:   I am completely in love! This is such a gorgeous product and turns removing makeup at the end of the day into a pampering experience.

Firstly, I have always loved Neutrogena's range of products for more sensitive skin. So I was excited to try this makeup remover as well. The packaging is great, so handy that it comes in a pump bottle.

I also love that it is environmentally friendly and has a more organic feel than the brand's other products.

The product itself has a surprising consistency, very similar to that of liquid soap. But it is gorgeously gentle and moisturising on your skin, easily removes all traces of makeup without any irritation at all, and leaves your skin feeling fresh and clean without any tightness or dryness. One pump is enough to remove a full face of foundation with no trouble at all.  I also love the scent so much, reminds me of green apples or something fresh and fruity like that.

9. Sukin Foaming Facial Cleanser - 4.1/5

They Say: This sulphate free wash provides a gentle, non drying cleanser to remove impurities leaving your skin feeling soft, clear and clean. Combines chamomile, aloe vera, witch hazel and green tea with macadamia and evening primrose oils to purify and balance your skin. Suitable for all skin types especially oily and sensitive.

You Say:  I love this facial cleanser! I have dry and sensitive skin, and was skeptical that this would be a good product as the price was much lower than other products I've used. After the first time I've used it, I loved it straightaway and haven't stopped using it since!

It's gentle yet it removes makeup well. The product seems to last forever, as not much is needed to clean your entire face. It smells great but not overpowering, which is great as I'm allergic to most fragrances. Highly recommended!!

10.  Skinfood Cleans All - 4.1/5

They Say: Skinfood Cleans All is gentle enough to be your twice a day cleanser. With no artificial colours or perfume, Cleans All removes the dirt and debris on your skin, without stripping the essential oils.

You Say: I absolutely love this product. It's such a great cleanser. It has a light refreshing scent to it (like the other Skinfood products I've tried). It's incredibly gentle on your skin, my face feels silky smooth when I'm massaging this into my skin. It's amazing!!

I couldn't believe it. Usually after cleansing my face, my mascara smudges and I'm left with "big scary black under eye" smudges (as my little girl puts it), but with the skin food cleanser, it removes 99% of my mascara completely. I'm only left with a faint little smudge under my eyes which you can barely even see (unless you're standing right in front of me). It's the most amazing cleanser I have come across. It is now my "go to" cleanser. I absolutely love it. And the best part is, it's a New Zealand product.

27th October, 2014

I swear by #8 Neutrogena Naturals Fresh Cleaning and Makeup Remover at the moment, but can vouch for Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser as being great as well. I'd love to give some of these other ones a try some time now too.

Very interesting :)

It is so good to see alot of variables in this list.

I love the sound of a cleansing balm.

30th July, 2014

I love Sukin cleansers and the scrub great article:)

27th July, 2014

I haven't used any of these cleansers! Sounds like I will need to try some of these ones when mine runs out. There's quite a few trilogy products on the list and I've never used anything by trilogy so I might have to give some of those a try.

27th July, 2014

More items for the shopping list :) Very well written reviews too thanks ladies. I love the They say/You say format to the article too... very helpful BR xx

Great Reviews! I enjoyed reading them. Ill be trying some of these out for sure :)

26th July, 2014

Trilogy's Enzyme Cleanser is one of my must have favorites so glad to see it on the list. I have tried the Sukin and Neutrogena Naturals one and it really didn't help my skin and left it irritated and dry but not every product will work for everyone. I am curious about Olay Regenerist Cleanser and will possibly want to try it sometime with my regular gel cleanser.

25th July, 2014

I'm currently using the Olay Fresh Effects Va Va Vivid cleansing system, but I may give the regenerist system a go!

25th July, 2014

Great article, thanks BR. I now want the Olay brush! It's on sale at The Warehouse for $26 at the moment so I will be heading out to get it tomorrow!

24th July, 2014

Great article, I won the Olay Regenerist Advanced Cleansing System a few months ago but haven't got around to trying it but after reading such a good review I think its time to get it out and see if I get the same results :)

I knew Trilogy and Skinfood would have to be in here. Definitely two of my favourite products that I urge everyone to give a try.

21st July, 2014

Great reviews. I have used Christian Dior facial wash for years & I love it, though I like to swap in a different one now & again so that it gives my skin a boost. It was good to read the different reviews & I will use them before I purchase my next cleanser

21st July, 2014

Ooo I really want to try that Olay Regenerist one... What a great article, thanks guys!
