essano Clear Complexion Certified Organic Detoxifying Serum Review

I tried this product with the complete Essano Clear Complexion range that BR sent me!

I love the packaging for this product. It's really simple and sophisticated and the pump makes it feel very high quality.

The product does have quite an interesting smell - my friend described it as over ripe kiwifruit and I would have to agree. Call me crazy but I kind of warmed to the smell after using it quite regularly.

I believe the product had a great effect on my skin. I have used witch hazel products and other products on my chin to try and prevent my monthly breakouts but have always been unsuccessful. I've had great skin this month and I think I can attribute that to the whole range and this serum.

I find the texture really smoothing and think that this serum is a great (and will be an ongoing) part of my skincare routine.

I think this was really good at helping control my oily zones, such as my nose. It has a weird kinda earthy smell like the rest of the products in this range. The one thing I really didn't like was that it left a bit of a film on my skin like it didn't absorb all that well, which I'm sure is great for making sure the serum works its magic, but it felt kinda gross. Overall a decent product which I would definitely keep around to use a few times a week or just as needed.

A decent product, but only thing is that I think it is not worth it for the price. It did tighten my skin as described which I was quite impressed with. I found the formula quite sticky which caused a slight mess when applying.

Not a pleasant scent but you will get used to it after a few uses. Most of the serums I have used all tend to have an unpleasant smell. This could be because of an ingredient that is required for it to be effective.

Love the packaging and design. The pump was easy to use and came out with the perfect amount.

This serum I think is sort of inspired by Korean serums that are meant to detoxify, tighten and clear skin. My first impression was the smell - bitter planty smell but it goes away as soon as its on. It goes sticky almost instantly on the skin but thats normal as it absorbs in. It does leave a thin sticky layer that doesnt go away but thats when I put on the moisturizing products. Its a really good first step in the skin care routine as I've definitely noticed that it prevents current breakouts from worsening and makes my skin tighter. The only iffy sides to it is the small and the film it leaves that can still be there the same day.

First off I have to admit I do not like the smell. The Serum is my least favourite in terms of smell of this skin care regime. It is hard to explain but it smells really earthy or woody or something. I usually just hold my breath while I rub it in. However it seems to have worked really well on my skin! In conjunction with the rest of this regime my skin has been left so soft and my skin tone has evened up so much! My skin is so much more hydrated and yet less oily and shiny so it's a win win from using this product! The texture of this product is like a thin gel so it spreads well, 2 pumps can cover my entire face and neck which means a little goes a long way!

First things first, I really didn't like the smell of this. It was a huge shame because apart from that I really enjoyed it. My face felt wonderful after using it. I think that it does a lot of what it says it does which is a huge bonus. After using it for almost 4 weeks I can't say that I've noticed too much of a difference but I haven't had many large breakouts so it must be working. Not sure I would buy this again purely because of the smell of it.

This was the most disappointing product in the Essano Clear Complexion range.

It is a plastic bottle and pump, which normally I don't mind but I found the pump to be really flimsy and felt like it would snap every time I used it.

The product itselfis quiet thick and a weird yellow colour which is a little off putting, and it does have a sort of herby smell to it, which isn't unpleasent, but isn't pleasent either.

When I used this product in conjunction with the other products in this range I did find that I was less oily and less breakouts, but I'm not sure if it can actually be contributed to using this product or the effect of the overall range. I didn't notice a change in my skins elasticity, firmness or overall health. I also found this product left a weird sticky residue/film on my skin. Whilst I do recommend this range I think you can pass on this product as it wouldn't make that much of a difference.

This is probably my favourite thing in the set! I absolutely love applying this, it makes my skin feel so smooth and refreshed.

It comes in a smallish 30ml bottle with a pump, and matches the rest of the items in the set. I don't need to use much product to apply this over my whole face! It has a smooth consistency. I love how it smells, to me it smells like a mixture of vanilla and cinnamon and bananas (if that even makes sense!) It soaks into my skin reasonably quickly.

While I have been using this set, I have noticed my skin feeling fresher and smoother, and I haven't had any breakouts. I also feel like my skin has a lot less redness as well and feels overall amazing. Since I've been using the rest of the set, I can't say whether this difference is all down to this product, but love the feeling of applying this and would recommend!

I had never used a detoxifying serum before this one and was intrigued to see how it felt on my skin. After my first use I was enamored; the serum was light, easy to apply, and immediately felt like it was working.

The serum is easy to apply morning and night, and is fine to wear under makeup. In fact, with a combination of this serum and the Essano Clear Complexion Toner, I've found no need to use a primer underneath my powder foundation as it sticks to it very well.

I already think that after only a month, this product has significantly helped my blackheads. Although my pores have yet to reduce in size, I am no longer facing the breakouts I used to get from having clogged pores.

I have had a few breakouts since starting this product, but nothing out of the usual for me, and I think using this serum has helped me control and heal them faster. I am so happy I got the chance to trial this product as it has opened me up to a new world of facial serums that I am excited to add to my regular skin-care routine.

I had never used Essano products before trialing this Under 25s range. The packaging is super cute with its baby pink and white colour scheme, and I love that it is a New Zealand brand.

The first thing I noticed was the absolutely FOUL smell from the serum. It literally smells like rotting vegetation. I was genuinely concerned that maybe something had gone wrong with the formula, but continued using it so I could write a thorough review for BR. But to be honest, I really did not look forward to using it every night purely because the scent made me gag!

In saying that, other serums I've used have also had a weird odour... has anyone else had this problem?

The product sits lightly on the skin and isn't too sticky. I can't say for sure how much it contributed to the condition of my skin, as I was using it in conjunction with 4 other products from the same range. I do feel that my skin has been a lot clearer as a result of the overall regime though.
