Tips: i wasnt sure of the shade as the one i pick for my fair skin didnt suit but it did stay on for longer then normal
Actually love this product, I'm glad I didn't go darker but this is 1 I would need to wear in winter just so it doesn't look lighter on my face. I found with my elf primer and then this on top I could build it up a bit not that I needed to but to try it out really. Seems to cover the red blemishes on my face which was great to see.
This is a great budget foundation it's made on France and it's as good as some of the top of the line foundations. It has great pigment it lasts all day, it's a flawless finish and very natural. I applied it with a flat sponge and it went on really well and quick. I have combination skin so I like matte finish foundations and this is a great matte shine free finish, I purchased 28 soft beige it's perfect for neutral skin tones It's great for summer when your in the heat and swimming a lot it just lasts through everything. I think it would be great in winter as well when all the heaters are on it would still look great after a few hours of sitting on front of the fire and wouldn't melt off. It's also transfer resistant waterproof kind of anything proof, you could probably wear it to boot camp and come out flawless. Don't get the first maybelline 24 hour foundation as it's not as good as this one, this one is much better coverage and more natural. Farmers has great specials on maybelline
Tips: Apply with a sponge for even, easy, quick application
Purchased this due to the mass hype I'd been seeing and hearing about this foundation. Maybelline foundations and their products, in general, have always been a bit of a hit and miss for me with some becoming staples in my collection and others being a waste of money. I put off purchasing this for ages as I couldn't justify paying $35 for a Maybelline foundation that I didn't really need haha. Eventually, I came across it for $20 online and figured why not. I hated this product, it sat on my skin and felt cakey and gross to the touch. It felt like I was wearing a foundation sheet mask on my skin. The colour was off, which I spent ages trying to ensure it was the correct shade. It dried on my skin and clung to dry skin and hair on my face as I have dry and sensitive skin I wasn't surprised. It rubbed off not long after application and couldn't withstand sweat or heat. Waste of money and am annoyed having fallen into the hype.
The consistency of this product is beautiful. It's silky smooth and thin, but provides medium coverage with just one layer. I wasn't able to get an even finish using my fingers, so used my beauty blender which worked well.
The product looked good upon application, but settled into pores after a couple of hours. I tested it with and without primer and powder and had the same result each time. It lasts all day.
I found it quite hard to remove compared to my usual foundations. I needed an oil-based cleanser to remove it.
Tips: Use a damp sponge to apply for the prettiest finish
I've really enjoyed using this foundation, the coveridge is awesome I've had a few problem spots before using this but it's been so good at hiding these. I normally use a high coverage concealer as well as full coverage foundation but all I need with this is the foundation. I did find you needed to blend it well and quite quickly as once it's on your skin it's not moving anywhere! And that's not a bad thing! I found it went on well with a damp sponge and worked into the skin nicely Another small thing I love it that the bottle has a pump for easy application which is different for Maybelline foundations which normally have a screw top lid. I like that there is a range of colours so I can have a lighter shade and a darker one. This foundation is a win for me and I look forward to trying the rest of the Superstay range.
Tips: Blend, blend blend real quick!
... maybe it's this insanely good new offering from Maybelline.
I'm always sceptical about lofty claims like 'Full Coverage' and 'Superstay!' but you know what? They live up to what they promise, and I'm super impressed.
Shade selection wasn't simple for the trial, as I couldn't swatch (of course!) but I managed to find a shade that's utterly perfect for my skin apart from the day after freshly tanning - I'll probably go up a shade when I repurchase - and I WILL be repurchasing. In the meantime, a little bronzer on top of this brings it up to perfect.
The packaging is standard for a the brand - nothing super unique but an attractively presented square clear glass bottle with a white top, and subtle silver/pink labelling. 30 mls is a decent size for foundation, so I think it's value for money in this size.
The pump has already leaked ever so slightly but the lid fits well and i'm reasonably confident about leaving it in my makeup bag even when travelling. The pump is white plastic as well, and (amazingly) one pump dispenses enough foundation for a full face. Well done on that one Maybelline!
The foundation is mid -consistency; not runny or super thick. It spreads and applies well, but requires buffing to get it to blend fully - no worries as I do this anyway. It has a very faint scent that I barely notice.
The foundation, once applied, wears beautifully. I've tried it over various illuminators, primers and moisturisers, and topped with a couple of diff powders, and it has interacted well with everything I've tried. Longevity is impressive - it survived a festival; hours in the sun in crowds of people and 27 degree heat without a worry.
I haven't had any negative reactions from my skin, it seems to really like this foundation.
Removal was easy with oil cleanser, but tougher with both facial wipes and micellar water. It appears to need to be dissolved a little then the full face cleansing to remove every trace - that's the tradeoff I guess!
I'll definitely be repurchasing this in both this shade and a slightly darker one - i think I've found my new HG foundation.
Tips: Definitely look at your removal options and experiment, oil worked best for me!
I won this in a BR fb competition (thank you BR!!!) and was really excited to try it! Since it had come out I had been wanting to give it a go. I like the square packaging- not bulky and looks simple, with a white lid and glass bottle. I really like the pump as well, it’s so easy to use (not too stiff and the product doesn’t squirt out too quickly) and really easy to control how much product comes out. I find the texture nice and smooth, easy to blend and can be built up. I usually use a damp beauty blender and it works really well. I find I don’t need heaps of product either- probably about 1 pump so the bottle generally lasts me pretty well. It has a nice natural finish, not too matte (I have dry skin, so matte foundations cling to the dry spots) and looks a bit dewy (which I like) and not too oily. The coverage is probably medium- it evens out most of my redness but in some places I need concealer for more coverage, but this doesn’t really bother me. I also usually set with a translucent powder. The foundation sits well on my skin however I don’t find it lasts 24 hours as it says- for me near the afternoon/late afternoon it starts to wear around my nose/forehead/cheeks, and wears quicker in the heat. The product is not perfect, but I do like it. It is really affordable (especially on special at countdown or farmers!) and the shade matches me perfectly.
Tips: I find this medium coverage, so in some places concealer is needed for extra coverage :)
I bought this recently after a friend recommended it to me, she was absolutely blown away so I thought I should give it a go. Matte foundations aren't usually my first pick, but ohhh my gosh I have fallen in love with this! The coverage on this is just insane and so is the staying power! I have combo skin and I feel like this lasts really well all day on my skin and so far I haven't had any issues with separation around the nose and chin like I usually do with other foundations, this also doesn't leave me looking like an oil slick by the end of the day! The only thing is I'm finding it hard to find a good shade, they seem to be a bit yellow for me so I'm having to mix a couple together and it still doesn't seem right, but hopefully they release more!
I’m happy I didn’t pay full price for this, this just didn’t work that well for me. Generally I like Maybelline products a lot and used their foundations before and they were better than this one. I thought maybe since this was fairly new it’s better/does more etc.
The colour somehow ended up much lighter on my skin than expected, but I could still work with it. Coverage isn’t too bad, but to me it isn’t full coverage either. It works best with a wet beauty sponge for me personally, which obviously makes it lighter coverage immediately as well.
However, with a brush or with my fingers it did set into my fine lines too much and makes my dryer areas look flaky. I will use this up next winter with a heavier moisturiser underneath, but I won’t repurchase. I think I’m just not the right demographic for maybelline foundations anymore, as I always forget that I’m now 30 and it’s so hard to not buy products/brands that were working for me 10 or so years ago. :/
