Dupe for Trilogy Rosehip Oil

This is an extremely affordable dupe for the much loved and popular Trilogy Rosehip oil ! I have been using trilogy's rosehip oil for over one and a half years now and when I tested Essano's rosehip oil out I noticed no difference ! The formulas are pretty much the same. I recommend using the oil at night as a moisturizer right after you have washed your face. I think the oil is really good for facing scars and evening out skin tone. For a super hydration kick also use the essano night creme which is super good.

Love!

My skin is fairly normal, with a tendency towards drier patches around my nose and chin, and some redness around my nose/general uneven skintone.

This is the first time I've used rosehip oil, and I'm a total convert! I purchased this in the Essano trial pack, and have just run out (the trial size bottle lasted me about 5 weeks, using it once per day).

The packing is great, particularly the dropper, preventing wasting or spilling the oil, plus it looks very cue with the muted brown/pink colour scheme!

The actual oil is lightweight, and a little goes a long way: 3 drops is enough for my whole face. It absorbs quickly, and leaves my skin feeling hydrated and soft. I've been using it at night and following up with the matching Essano night cream, but even on its own it provides enough moisture.

I found the smell a bit surprising - it's not a particularly "rose" scent, like the moisturiser and facewash in this range, but rather has almost a nutty oil smell. It's quite subtle and fades quickly after being applied, so it doesn't bother me.

In terms of effects, this has been amazing. My skin tone has been evening out slowly but surely, and even a bit of spot scarring I have has been reduced slightly. It hasn't transformed my skin instantly, but it definitely has been helping and I have seen an improvement! The best part for me has been the disappearance of dry patches. Now when I apply makeup it doesn't cake or flake around those areas (you ladies with dry skin will know what I mean!). It really does leave my skin looking happy! I also feel like I have had fewer breakouts since using this.

I will definitely be repurchasing rosehip oil, and quite possibly this brand, given that it is relatively inexpensive and easy to find. (I am about to try a Trilogy sample though, so we will have to see). But overall, I love this and would highly recommend!

my new love

After seeing people rave about the Essano range i decided to go pick some up myself, they are reasonably priced at countdown for around $18-$20.

The rosehip oil is amaze!! its a thick consistency for a oil and super hydrating on the skin, and it does as it claims. After having a baby 3 months ago i have some slight stretch marks on my tummy, i had been using the essano rosehip oil on them and they are practically gone now!

will most likly be repurchasing this when my bottle runs out, & recommending to friends/family

Tips: a little oil goes a loooong way

Absolutely love this product!

After reading reviews on here about the moisturiser, I decided I'd give it a go, but mistakingly bought the oil whilst being distracted with a very busy 2 year old! Best mistake ever!

I have dry sensitive skin on my face, which is prone to pigmentation and scaly patches. My body is also very dry but not sensitive. I have been able to apply this to my whole face and body without any reaction which is fab!

The bottle comes with a little dropper, which is handy because you really don't need much and this makes it easier to get a small amount. I'm not crazy about the smell, but thats mainly because it actually smells like oil, rather than being heavily fragranced. After two weeks of using this product (daily for the first week, then only twice during the second) my skin is soft and supple, not even remotely dry, less patchy, more evenly coloured, and I have even noticed a tiny difference in my fine lines! I also have those red dot things on the backs of my arms, and they have improved massively! I was surprised how quickly it absorbed, and within ten or so minutes, there was no residue or oiliness left on my skin.

I absolutely recommend this product - it is very reasonably priced, and easy to find in most supermarkets. Give it a go!

Tips: Don't use too much, it spreads a long way! I use the night cream after the oil before I go to bed to top it all up, and wake up with skin like silk, so if you have dry or damaged skin or even just fancy a little pick me up try that :-)

Essano rosehip oil

After reading reviews on here and on the forum, I decided to give this ago and bought the sample pack. I have combination skin with some dry patches that appear in the colder months, skin reddening on the cheek area and fine lines appearing around my eyes so opted to use the oil on these two areas. I have given this product a good month to trial this and I must admit I have seen an improvement particularly the redness on my cheeks is much better. I did not find the oil to greasy and found my skin quickly absorbed it. There was a subtle fragrance to the oil but certainly nothing unpleasant and nothing you could smell once it was applied to the skin. I then decided to get really brave and apply to my chin area which was not a good move as I have now had a huge breakout which has not happened in a very long time, my mistake should not have applied to the already oily areas of my face! I have to admit this has put me off slightly and therefore have not used it for the last couple of days. I will recommence but will stick to cheek and eye area because I certainly felt it made a difference and my skin looked and felt good and any redness was certainly reduced. As for the other products in the pack I'm loving the body lotion so will buy a full size in the near future and the night cream is also a great product. I loved the fact that I was able to purchase such a handy trial pack from the supermarket for a reasonable price as well and that the oil has certainly lasted a good month.

Healthy, radiant skin

I got a small trial size of this given to me when I placed an online order with my supermarket- love it when they include freebies, especially beauty products!

I was excited to try this oil after reading the positive reviews on BR.

The bottle has a little dropper, which is perfect for dispensing a small amount on your hand to put on your face.

My skin tends to be very dry in some places, and now that I'm in my early thirties and don't tend to have as much sleep as I used to (my lovely little daughter waking during the night). I have recently developed the pesky fine lines around my eyes and also in between my eyebrows - so I was hoping this product would work!

I was a little concerned the oil would cause me breakouts, as some oil has done this to me. However, with my normal routine of cleansing at night I then applied this sparingly to my fine lines and dry patches. It's very light feeling and sinks in easily- with no greasy feel like other oils.

The smell is very subtle and not overpowering at all. Very natural and slightly floral. After using this I am very happy with the results. My skin feels very hydrated and it seems to even out my skin tone, with no dry patches. My skin looks healthier and has a glow to it after using this, I love it! After a week of using this I am very impressed! My fine lines look a little less noticeable, in time I'm hoping that this oil helps diminish them for good (can only hope!).

I will definitely be purchasing the full size bottle of this soon. Very handy that I can purchase this from countdown, with my weekly shopping.

After trying this oil I'm very tempted to try the moisturiser and the rest of the range. Hopefully they are as good as this oil!

Tips: A little goes a long way!

Love love love

I'm almost 27 & have started to see a couple of lines forming under my eyes, so I decided to take action. As part of my nightly routine I use a couple of drops around my eyes before bed as an intense treatment & I've seen such an improvement I'm thrilled. Love the stuff!!

Tips: Use every night before bed

New Love - The secret to glowing skin!

I recently purchased this after the raving reviews on here and online in general and am not disappointed with it one little bit.

This oil has a lovely natural ever so slight scent which I have come to love and the texture on the skin feels so smooth and luxurious (as oil type products do), yet fine and light. I had worries this would clog my pores and worsen my breakouts, but, the opposite has been the case. I spread this all over my face and down my neck and upper chest and put a little extra on my eye area (particularly my eyelids which get extremely dry) and any other patches prone to dryness.

I usually have very dry skin which is often irritated and dull looking and have found that using this every night after cleansing my face has really improved the texture and radiance of my skin. My skin looks moisturised, healthy and supple after using this for a few weeks and I don't plan on stopping using it as I am really liking the results it is giving me.

I would highly recommend this product to others as it is simply fantastic and I will definitely be repurchasing it for years to come.

Holy grail x inifnity.

Oh man, this stuff is INCREDIBLE.

I got this as part of a kit from the Essano range from Countdown. I was keen to give this range a go because I had read so many good reviews about it on the forum here!

My skin tends to be quite dry and not bright. I have red cheeks and some unneveness around my face, and I don't really get acne.

I like to apply 2 -3 drops of this onto my skin after using the Essano Cleanser (you can see reviews about that here: http://www.beautyreview.co.nz/catalogue/skin-care/face/cleansing/essano-gentle-foaming-cleanser).

This is a thick oil that smells really nice and earthy, with a hint of rose. I love how natural it smells.

I tend to put this all over my face but especially concentrate on my red cheeks, puffy undereyes and in the creases of my nose or anywhere else I get really dry.

Since using this my skin has felt hydrated and it looks the best it has in years. My redness has reduced a little bit (yay!), and I haven't experienced any breakouts.

My skin drinks this in and it feels soft and super supple after applying this. I leave it to sink in for about 20 minutes and then apply the night cream.

This is a must try - seriously. It imagine this is going to be in my skincare regime for a long, long, loooong time!

Tips: If you haven't tried this range before I recommend going to the supermarket and getting their 'starter kit'. It has 4 different products in it that are a fantastic introduction to the range, and it's really affordable.

Great in depth review. Thanks for describing the scent. I do wonder how this brand would compare to Trilogy's.

Ho Hum

I received a generous sample of this (along with the moisturiser) a couple of months ago and decided to give it a go... I have VERY dry skin/eczema which means I am always very hesitant to put anything on my face - I react to almost everything (including all natural products). I was pleasantly surprised that my skin seemed to tolerate this okay. As far as smell goes, there wasn't much of one, just a faint oil smell (like cooking oil I suppose). I applied at night mostly to the uneven, wrinkly and dry patches around my eyes and mouth. At the time it left my skin feeling nice and hydrated but it would always go back to looking/feeling dry by morning. I imagine if I had normal skin or skin that is easily irritated this could be a great product but speaking from the dry camp it really didn't do a heck of a lot and I gave it a good 2 week trial run.
