heat em up heat em up

STOP READING THIS REVIEW AND GO GET THIS SCRUB! LIKE RIGHT NOW! Because I can't even deal with how good it treats my skin every second day, I'd do every day but I want it to last that bit extra haha.

I've been using this scrub for the last 3weeks and the difference in my skin is amaze, I get constant black heads on my nose and chin area and this wee number just helps scrub em away like "ain't nobody got time fo dat". It has also cleared other acne areas on my face and given a smoother surface to touch, mmmhmmm.

I noticed a subtle difference after the first use in the way of my face looking fresher and brighter, after about a week and half is when the magic started to kick in. Skin clearing up, brighter, less oily and overall appreance was fresh and more alive. It takes a good few minutes to massage and dissolve the scrub into your skin(as per instructions) but honestly take your time and enjoy it because it is truely the best mini 'facial'.

And OMG the heat! how divine is it that. Not only do the sugar and kiwi seeds give a lush wee massage on your skin it also gives a slight heat aswell which is just bliss. At first I thought I was having some sort of a reaction but nope this scrub just wants to be extra and heat things up(btw by heat I mean just a warming sensation when you first apply it). Zero complaints from me.

This also works a treat as a lip scrub( say goodbye to winter chapped lips) just try not to lick it, because although it smells all sweet and nice it doesn't taste at all good haha.

This is a must have in your skin care routine, I will definitely be purchasing alot more.

Amazing Results!

I was happy to see this product in one of my BBBEs, as I'd seen and heard the reviews for the L'Oreal sugar scrubs, and I wondered if they could be as good as the reviews indicated.

Firstly, after you take it out of what is a very sophisticated-looking box, the scrub comes in a cute glass pot with a brown plastic lid. I extract the product by just sticking my finger into it and scoping some out. It doesn't take much for an application. As per the instructions, I put some on my face, then add warm water and massage around.

The product is kind of a sticky gel that looks like mashed kiwifruit. It has a divine scent that is neither kiwifruit nor sugar. The stickiness evaporates after water is added and it warms a little. It is grainy, as you'd expect, and does feel slightly more harsh on my skin than I usually like for a scrub.

I've been noticing lately that my dry skin is developing sensitive patches after using some products, and one of my usual scrubs has become a culprit, so I was a bit worried the first time about sensitivity. Luckily there was none.

I'm finding that the scrub is leaving my skin very clean and almost glowing, with rosy cheeks but no sensitivity, which is exactly what I want in a scrub.

I definitely recommend it to others, and would purchase it again myself. I'm also keen to try the other flavours in the range. I think $20 is a good price. It will last a while using it 3 times per week and with only requiring a small amount each time.

And yes, it does live up to the great reviews!!

Tips: I've been following this scrub with Moisture Mist Gentle Protective Moisturiser and my skin feels like silk.

Best Sugar Scrub

Loving this! I tried a sugar scrub before and was left feeling average so I was a bit hesitant to give this a go. But I found it at a bargain price at the supermarket this week and I couldn't resist. Smells good enough to eat and afterwards my skin is left feeling super soft!

Tips: Definately have to use it on dry skin to get the full exfoliating effect :)

What a winner!

I have absolutely been loving this (and the one with the yellow lid too!). The smell of it is sooo nice, almost good enough to eat (yes, I have licked my lips after having it on before haha). I usually use this in the shower and I love how it literally just melts in to my skin and afterwards it's left feeling sooo silky smooth! I use this (or the other one I have) usually once or twice a week (although I wish I had the need to use it more because it is so amazing haha).

Love this scrub

This scrub contains many types of sugar and kiwi seeds which I feel like works very well on the skin. The texture is slightly thinner than jelly and rubs onto the skin easily.

After use, my skin felt very nice and smooth which I loved. My pores also felt clean and fresh!

Would definitely recommend to anyone who is in need of a scrub!!

Tips: Moisturise afterwards to keep the skin feeling nice and clean.

Magical Kiwi Fruit

I have very oily skin that is prone to blackheads, so I put my hand up for the trial team for the Purifying Scrub, which promises to instantly refresh, clean and purify skin, and after one week, pores and blackheads are visibly reduced and skin is mattified, with a baby-soft touch.

The 50ml square glass tub has a tan-coloured screw top lid, with a little white plastic protector underneath. The green coloured scrub inside looks and smells exactly like mashed, sugared kiwi fruit, and even contains real kiwi fruit seeds! Now, I was a little worried that these kiwi fruit seeds would end up being really scratchy, but the scrub is actually really gentle.

The instructions on the box say to apply a small amount (with dry fingers) onto clean, dry skin. I found that while applying the scrub dry, it heated up quite quickly, and I do love a self-heating face scrub. If you've ever used the Freeman's Charcoal and Black Sugar scrub, it heats up the same way.

Once the scrub was on my face, I applied a little warm water and massaged it in circular motions, avoiding my eyes, but I did go around my lips, as it can be used as a lip scrub as well. Unfortunately, I did get a little in my mouth, and let me tell you ... ugh! It does not taste as wonderful as it smells! Anyway, once the sugar had melted, I simply washed away the seeds and any residue, and it did leave my skin feeling nice and smooth.

This purifying sugar scrub contains three different types of fine sugar crystals; brown, blonde and white, as well as kiwi fruit seeds to exfoliate, peppermint oil to soothe and help reduce blemishes, and lemongrass oil to help purify the skin. I was worried about this product containing peppermint oil, as I hate the feel of mentholated products on my skin and do tend to avoid them. I am very happy to say that there is no burning, tingling feeling that I usually associate with products containing mint or menthol, and I'd happily purchase another tub of this.

After using this scrub three times per week (per the instructions), it really does seem to be helping to unblock the really stubborn blackheads that I've had on my nose for years. So, does it live up to its promises? Yes, I think it does! I'd definitely recommend this purifying sugar scrub to anyone who battles with stubborn blackheads.

Tips: Apply to clean, dry skin, massage it a little and then let it sit on the skin (like a mask) for a few minutes before adding a little warm water and massaging some more, before rinsing it off.

Love love love it

This scrub is so good, I’ve been using this every second day since it arrived 2 weeks ago. The fragrance was lovely and the texture of the scrub was great and was a gentle yet effective exfoliant. This scrub didn’t irritate my semi sensitive skin and left it fresh, clean and glowing. The product seemed to heat up when coming into contact with my skin which I thought was a bit weird, but it didn’t put me off. You need to follow the instructions and use it on a dry face and apply with dry hands, otherwise it doesn’t work very well. This is a shame as I can’t use in the shower :(. My blackheads have disappeared however the other benefits outweigh this.

Tips: Don’t apply in shower, doesn’t work as well with wet face or wet hands

Smells good enough to eat

I really loved this product starting with the smell which was totally edible smelling! The scrub is quite thick and felt really good on my skin, it spread really easily and was good to work into my skin. My only concern was that it felt like it could probably do with a higher sugar quantity to exfoliate my skin. I did feel like I'd probably need to use it a second time when I used it. My skin felt lovely and soft post use, but there were still areas that were a bit rougher and dry. A second scrub did seem to deal to these patches, but I'd prefer to be able to just use the scrub once incase it lead to skin sensitivity or overdrying.

Tips: Don't be afraid to use more than you think to enough exfoliant.

Kiwifruit Scrub, Kiwi Gal, Purified Kiwi Skin

I purchased this scrub quite a few months ago when it was on special at the supermarket and alas, it ended up being an absolute special for my skin. It's a light scrub, very cooling and not overly scratchy (as some can be) and it leaves your skin feeling super soft - and it also smells delicious. As I have quite sensitive skin I find it quite hard to find scrubs that smell good, do what they need to do and are relatively cost-effective but more importantly, ones that don't ruin my skin. BUT, this one ticks all the boxes. The product itself is kind of like a paste and it moves around the skin gently and can feel a little oily! Another massive perk to this product is that it's in most supermarkets and is typically always on sale somewhere. And when you go and purchase this, I would recommend grabbing a nice moisturiser (if you don't already have one - I try and use oil-free ones as they are more inclined to help prevent blackheads) to use afterwards to retain all the goodness and to stop your skin from drying out x

Tips: Use it once or twice a week at most - as this jar doesn't have a whole lot of product I would say to use it wisely but be generous when you do. This scrub is also perfect to use as a lip scrub that way you're in for a right treat - a full face exfoliation! Would definitely suggest being super conscious of your precious eye area and to focus on your T zone, jawline (even your neck) and any other problematic areas and remember to moisturise!

Clean and Green

Sometimes, your face just needs a good old-fashioned scrub. Wearing SPF sunscreen and makeup regularly, using heavy moisturisers, and let's not forget the daily build-up of dead skin (gross I know!) all contribute to a dull complexion. This last week my skin was far from shining bright like a diamond and this scrub arrived just in the nick of time!

I don't know exactly what it is, but I'm far more likely to enjoy a product when it's housed in a glass jar. Is it the cool weight in my hand? Is it the thought that glass is surely more expensive, and therefore luxe, than plastic? Is it that I can see the product clearly? Whatever it is, L'Oreal does not disappoint on the packaging front. This one would look good on even Kim K's bathroom shelf.

I'm not the only one who sniffs a new product upon first opening it, am I? Well, good, because this one's a treat- all fruity and yummy smelling, like a kiwifruit sweet. I think we're all pretty partial to a bit of kiwifruit here in NZ so thanks, L'Oreal, for thinking of us!

Let's continue this sensory journey, as you scoop a little out it'll feel gritty to the touch, but a fine grit rather than one of those chunky and rough scrubs that are all too common. On the face, it self-heats and gets up to a nice warmth as the three sugars melt into your skin. At this point, a splash of warm water will wash it away no trouble, along with all the built up nasties that've been lurking on your skin.

Afterwards, your face feels smooth, clean, and soft. It didn't create too much redness but I wouldn't use this on very dry or sensitive skin. The box has a neat diagram which shows the best way to massage the scrub into your skin. How about that, a face scrub and facial massage in the comfort of your own home!

Overall, a very pleasant and effective little jar of green kiwifruit goodness. I'll continue to use this and see what longer-term effects it'll have.

Tips: Follow the directions on the jar and don't overuse this product- three times a week is plenty!
