A really great hand cream/ barrier cream

OK, so let's be honest, I've got a nice set of hardworking "old man's hands" as I've been told. I've washed far too many dishes and done way too much gardening without gloves which has left my hands dry, wrinkly and neglected. After deciphering what this product is for as its not in English I gave it a go and it is a great hand cream and barrier cream,

It left my hands feeling soft, subtle and less wrinkly/ more hydrated which I really like. The consistency is quite greasy so I would say it acts as a barrier too which I need. It is fragrance free which would be one of the down sides as I love a good smelling hand cream but I will definitely continue using this to see if it improves the texture of the skin on my hands. It also has ingredients like niacinamide which I believe can help soothe and heal skin conditions.

Tips: A little goes a long way

La Roche-Posay® Cicaplast 50 ml

I got to review Cicaplast mains , it contains Niacimide and glycerine and retails at around $15 dollars I like it ,however after applying it my hands feel very hot ,I find it a bit heavy as well .

Is a bit sticky and greasy however this hand cream works! the next day my hands feel softer and less dry , I don't like much the sensation of feeling my hands hot but I can live with that!

if you have very dry hands you should totally give this hand cream a go it would help .

Tips: Apply as often as you need

Best hand cream

This hand cream is so good. Feels quite silicon like but soaks in and you don’t get left with greasy hands which I can’t deal with. Smells nice. Hands feel softer. I’m going to test it on my partner who is a tradie feel like it will really work for dry cracked hands

Good hand cream to have on hand

I was pleased to try the La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Mains Hand Cream. It was a good size for my handbag and being only 50ml meant I could take it on a plane as I travel a lot. The product was non greasy and absorbed quickly into my skin but it did have a slight after smell which I was not fan of. I did notice a difference in hand texture as I suffer from chronic dry and split hands (which got worse during the hand sanitiser period). If I applied this in the evenings I could tell immediately in the morning that my hands felt more hydrated and smoother. I also noticed a big difference in my cuticle health. I would definitely use this product again.

Tips: I preferred to use this at night. That's when I noticed the health of my hands improve.

Will have this in my handbag forever!

This is the best hand cream I have used. The cream feels slightly greasy to start with which I usually really don't like, but then as you rub it in it just seems to disappear and you are left with the softest hands. It is such a relief when you have that awful dry hand feeling! I also love that it doesnt have a scent. While I do like a delicious smelling citrusy hand cream sometimes, this is a perfect every day cream that won't muddle up your perfume smell! Overall ,love it will buy again as I am slightly addicted. One star off as I don't think everyone would like the slightly greasy feel.

Reduces Need For Reapplication

Received this in the CBBBE. Stand up white tube with black and blue writing highlighting ingredients. Was expecting a cream but has a more creamy gel consistency. Reminds me of a baby's barrier cream or silicone based primer. No scent. Skin feels slightly greasy after applying.

Don't tend to use as much as a standard handcream as this is quite concentrated. I use a thumbnail size amount. have also noticed that I don't need to reapply as often throughout the day. Even after regular handwashing and sanitising.

Overall my hands are less dry and better protected. This is a really good handcream option.

Non-oily, practical cream

I was lucky enough to be chosen to trial this hand cream from La Roche-Posay. The cream comes in a white box with a picture of a hand on it, and a blue stripe on the box’s lid. As with other La Roche Posay products, the description and instructions for the product are written on the outside in several languages, including braille. The hand cream can be applied as often as necessary, and it claims that it “soothes and repairs the skin’s protective barrier.” The cream itself comes in a 50ml white tube which matches the box. The tube stands on its head and it has a flip lid.

I find that my hands get very dry and sore in winter, partly from handwashing and partly from the cold temperatures. I always moisturise my hands every night in winter. Since this cream has arrived for trial I have applied it every night before bed. The product squeezes out easily. The cream itself is a milky white and it has no scent. On the box it claims that this cream is quick-absorbing, invisible, non-oily, and non-sticky. All of that is true. This is not oily at all and it absorbs quickly. It feels very light on the skin. It has not irritated my sensitive skin either. The condition of the skin on my hands and nails has improved since I started using this, including clearing up some dry skin that I had under my fingernails.

Altogether I think this is a very good, fuss free, and practical cream that would work well for someone who needs to moisturise their hands throughout the day. I am really enjoying this cream and I will continue to use it after the trial ends.

Tips: The tube is small enough to fit in a handbag, so it can easily be transported anywhere.

Best hand cream around, great for eczema.

I love this Cicaplast mains La Roche-Posay hand cream. I currently have three tubes on the go. I’ve been using it in conjunction with La Roche Posay cicaplast baume b5 because my hands had cracked due to all the extra washing and sanitising. This cream is gentle and works well enough on its own, but the baume really steps it up a notch. My kids have been using it too. My daughter gets eczema and my son doesn’t but even his hands were so dry and flaky and cracked from the extra cleansing. Now after two weeks, all of our hands are healed and soft and smooth. No more tears at bedtime from sore hands from using other creams! It is more ointment like than cream, absorbs rapidly so it’s not greasy. It is soothing and provides a barrier to the skin. Highly recommend, and chemist warehouse frequently have this on sale for around $10, as well as the cicaplast baume. So they’re economical too!

Tips: Combine with cicaplast baume b5 repair cream for extra dry, cracked hands for intense repairing action. Apply cicaplast mains after hand washing and before going out into the cold, or regularly throughout the day. Use any excess on you dry lips! Use it on heels, elbows, knees, anywhere that’s a bit dry!

How can a hand cream be THIS good?

I've never encountered a brand quite like La Roche-Posay - every single product I try, no matter how unassuming, rocks my world. So I shouldn't be surprised then that their hand cream has wowed me too!

Like all LRP products, the packaging and text is primarily in French, with some English - luckily there's a nice picture of a hand to show you what it's for!

It's not really scented, there's a slight smell, but its not what I'd call fragranced.

It says activities can be resumed immediately after application, and for the first time ever, it really is a handcream you can use and go right back to work. It doesn't even transfer if you use it, and pick up a piece of paper immediately afterwards! It's instantly absorbed with no greasy residue.

A tiny bit is all you need, so this tube will last a while, probably even longer than a usual handcream due to how little you need to use.

My hands have always been susceptible to cracks and dry skin, especially during Winter - using this cream has completely healed my skin and I really think its preventing future environmental damage to my skin.

Fantastic hand cream

I bought this for my mother and then recieved one in the Christmas BBBE which I was super happy about because this hand cream is fantastic! It has a gel-like consistency and it's really smooth. You only need a small amount and it absorbs really quickly. It almost has a silicone type feel, not greasy at all. Instant results with such soft hands and continued use recovers very dry hands.
