Must have

One of the best pimple treatments I have used! I can see a noticeable difference in the redness and size of pimple after using it for a day or two. So happy to have discovered this product!

Product description is very accurate so if that is what your looking for, this product is for you!

Tips: Use with the foaming gel as removing oil before applying this product makes this effaclar more effective!

Great as a corrector (spot treatment) serum.

Firstly my skin type is a bit of a mix bag. It is currently combination/sensitive. I have dry cheeks but a very oily T-zone with mild acne around my chin and blackheads on my nose. I normally use the Trilogy very sensitive range but I have found lately I have needed something to help get rid/control the oily T-zone and acne.

This product confused me a little at first as unlike the foaming gel I couldn’t work out whether this was a corrector (spot treatment) or as a moisturiser as the container is only 40mls in size and the instructions say to use all over your face. I decided to treat it like a corrector as I think it would only last a few weeks if I used it as a moisturiser because it absorbs so quickly you would need a bit to cover your whole face.

The corrector comes in a small white squeeze bottle, with a screw top lid. the applicator tip is very fine so only a little product comes out at once. The formula is a white gel which is non sticky and quickly absorbed into my skin. It feels very smooth and mattifying once absorbed in. It has a very similar scent to the purifying forming gel.

I have been using this twice a day on areas around my chin and nose that have mild acne and blackheads after using the purifying foaming gel from the same range. I use the tiniest amount (half the size of a pea) on the tip of my little finger to apply to each area. I have definitely noticed in the past 2 weeks since I have been using this corrector that my blackheads had reduced in size on my nose and I had less active acne and scaring on my chin. As I have been using my regular moisturiser afterwards I haven’t been able to say whether it lives up to its claims of being non-drying.

I will continue to use this product as a corrector when I have active flare ups as I do believe it helps heal and reduce redness from acne.

Tips: Best as a spot treatment corrector, use a moisturiser afterwards.

Good, but not a miracle product!

My little sister bought me a tube of this as she uses it and loves it. My skin is a mixed bag, a bit dry around my nose, blocked pores on my nose and hormonal spots on my chin and sometimes forehead. Because of this, I found the product too drying around my nose, so tended to use it on chin, the top of my nose and between my brows and forehead.

I am not sure how effective it has been at fading any red marks from acne, but it does seem to keep things a bit more under control. My nose seems less congested, and chin spots seem smaller. I will buy this again to see how continued use helps, but so far I would say good, but not great!

Tips: Just skip applying this to any dry areas of your face, otherwise layer on a nice moisturizer after.

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo Plus

I LOVE this!

I have been looking for a moisturiser to fall in love with for ages and this is it for me! Now I say moisturiser.. maybe it is more of a treatment, I think how you use it would depend on your skin. If you are drier you could absolutely add a moisturiser over top or if you are more oily like me this worked great by itself!

The packaging is a small tube, attractive enough and perfectly sturdy. It does at first glance seem quite small but the product inside goes a really long way.

I found the product to have no scent, it is very light weight, goes on really easily and leaves no residue feeling (I hate any greasiness!). After about 30 seconds you wouldn't know you'd applied this... except! it made my skin feel super smooth!

Already in such a short time I have seen some reduction in my red scars, I also think in general my pores are reduced.

I love this stuff, if you have oily skin and suffer from light general acne I highly recommend giving it a go! I will certainly continue to use. I am keen to see if there is more improvement with longer use, so far so good!

Tips: You do not need much product at all!

La Roche Posay® Effaclar Duo Plus Review

I was fortunate enough to be apart of the trial team for this product.

This product s a white cream that you are meant to use all over your face to help treat severe imperfections. The product is smooth and has a lotion like consistency and comes in a squeeze tube with a thin nozzle. I used about a dollar coin amount to cover my face. It spreads easily and absorbs nicely into the skin. I used this product inbetween cleansing amd moisturising.

This product has the same floral soap fragrence as the cleanser. I did notice this product did help reducing some of my texture across my cheeks. However I did not notice a reduction in oil production, nor dod it reduce my red marks. I do agree, however, that this is fresh and non greasy.

As the trial period was quite short, I will continue to use this product in my normal skincare reigme and see if it really makes a difference. At this stage I would probably not purchase it as it is quite expenisve and you only get 40mls of product, I can see myself using this up quickly, as this has inly had a minimal effect so far, it doesn't make it worth it in my opinion. If you have a small amount of texture this product may work well for you, but if you have a lot of texture like I do, I think you will only see minimal results.

Tips: Works well as a step between cleanising and moisturising to help reduce skin texture.

Spots be gone!

My skin has been in a terrible state over this stinking hot summer. I also work in an extremely hot environment which doesn't help. I was getting lots of breakouts, especially on my forehead and chin. It makes me feel so self conscious and I feel like putting makeup on top can make it look even worse especially when you are sweating.

I have tried La Roche-posay products before thanks to BR, so when I did a bit of research and saw they sold acne products I was intrigued. I read numerous reviews with most being really positive so decided I needed to give this a go.

It comes in a thin squeezy tube with a screw on cap, you get 40ml of product which doesn't sound like much but a little bit goes a long way with this. It is a white moisturiser type consistency. I wasn't too sure if I was just supposed to use as a spot treatment or not but I like to put a thin layer all over my face, sometimes I get a slight tingle for a few seconds but no irritation at all. It has a lovely fresh scent and does not leave my skin feeling greasy,  it makes a great base for BB cream or foundation.

I use this in conjunction with the cleanser and toner and it is just magic. I now have incredibly clear, radiant skin which is much less red and uneven looking.

I absolutely love this range and totally recommend it to anyone that wants clear skin. I purchase the anti acne kit for $65 as it works out way cheaper plus they work so well together at keeping pimples away.

do the duo

Super light weight and perfect for oily skin. Just like the cleanser this has a subtle fragrance of cucumber and you only need a very small amount. The tube itself has a tiny opening which is perfect for getting the right amount out. I used this daily for the past 2weeks and it has really helped to brighten up my complexion. Although was nice to use everyday I would say it is not needed everyday. Every second day or even a few times a week would be ok.

Patience is KEY!

I truly had high expectations for this product - being that it is on the more pricier side and seeing some great reviews. Unfortunately in the first week this product did not work well with my skin at all, and despite me using it as instructed on the packaging - it did not do what it said it would. It had completely made my face break out (worst it has ever been) with large blind pimples in places where I have never really got them (on my cheeks and neck) and I am totally aware that purging may occur during the first week or so but my skin really had never looked that bad. This product states it is for sensitive skin which I found very surprising as I woke up in the morning and my skin had started to peel around my spots (not sure if supposed to?). After waiting another week, I started to see great results - I guess the breaking out was my skin 'cleansing' itself and getting rid of all the bad toxins? Happy to say that I will be continuing to use this product and would consider purchasing when I run out.

Tips: Wait it out! Give it time!

Exactly, I had the same thing happen but thought it more a combination of both products rather than either one. I now thrilled with the results on my long-term blemishes!

Feels like a treatment primer

I love this. Much like the cleanser I wondered if these products would be right for me given my skin isn't really acne prone but it does get oily these days and I do get the odd spot and it's hard to find a product that will help with that but not irritate my sensitive skin or dry it out as it's also prone to dryness. As if life isn't hard enough! This feels a bit like a primer when I apply it and it doesn't have much of a smell I didn't think. Certainly no issues with the smell. The texture is lovely and it seems to just melt into my skin making it seem smooth and almost matte in appearance and primed ready for applying make up or other products. It doesn't irritate my skin at all and really seems to have helped keep those pesky spots away and has also cured those annoying little bumps and imperfections. My skin seems less red and is less oily but not dried out at all. I don't know why but the application felt better after using the cleanser as well. Some days I have just applied the Duo Plus but using it in combination with the cleanser really does seem to give the best results. I'm not sure if it actually is but I have gone without make up for a couple of days now and feel okay about it because my skin seems to look more even toned. Now if I can just find something to fix these pesky dark circles and eye bags...

La Roche Posay® Effaclar Duo Plus

This is perhaps a miracle in a tube!

La Roche Posay® Effaclar Duo Plus comes in a 40ml white tube and like its buddy the foaming gel, it gives off a fresh 'dermatological' vibe.

It applies and absorbs nicely to the skin but I do find I need to use a generous amount to cover my face which seems disproportionate to the size of the product.

The La Roche Posay® Effaclar Duo Plus promises to correct imperfections and it certainly lives up to its promise. Before using this product, I was on the verge of going to a dermatologist regarding the under skin bumps around my jawline. Since using this product the smaller bumps have disappeared and the large ones are reducing in size. I have noticed blemishes dry and heal quickly. Overall, my skin is smoother, I feel my pores look more refined in appearance and my skin tone is even and clear.

My only complaint is that this product is not particularly nourishing as my skin doesn't look as plump as it normally does. This is possibly due to my combination skin rather than oily skin this product is designed for.

I'm thrilled with this little miracle in a tube and will continue to use it as a topical moisturiser on my problem areas in conjunction with my regular moisturiser.

I can't recommend the La Roche Posay® Effaclar Duo Plus enough!

Tips: If your skin feels a little dry, use this product on your problem areas or t-zone and use a more nourishing moisturiser elsewhere.
