Garnier Vitamin C Brightening Serum

This is the first product ive felt like ive had the chance to give a decent try after being selected to trial products through beauty review and i actually feel like i see a difference. My skin is acne prone and im left with scarring. I also tend to get some texture, with what i call white head bumps. I had quite a few bumps when i started using this, but i have found majority of the bumps have gone and my skin has been the clearest ive seen it in a long time. Also i have noticed some scarring fading. Im excited to see what improvements come with more time. This has a nice scent, not too overbearing and doesnt leave any greasy residue on the skin as it states. The serum dries well and soaks into the skin nicely

I was extremely excited to try this! How could you not want gorgeous glowy skin and those dark spots reduced?!

The bottle is a nice size. I like the use of the dropper. You’re supposed to use one full dropper and gently massage it into your face and neck. I found that a little less than a full dropper was best for me as it went really far.

The formula itself is nice and thin so it doesn’t feel heavy. It soaks into the skin relatively quickly so you don’t have that tacky skin feeling for long. It has a slight shimmer to it, also. The serum doesn’t smell like I thought it would. I imagined it would smell citrusy but it has a light clean and fresh scent.

I didn’t feel that it improved my skin in any way unfortunately. I had stopped using my other serums and toners to see if there was a difference. My dark spots/old scars stayed the same and I didn’t feel there was an improvement in my skin texture.

My skin did look a little brighter and felt slightly less oily so that was a plus!

Overall, I’m not super sold on this serum. It definitely has its pro’s & con’s and I prefer my other products

I’d been wanting to try a vitamin c serum so when my friend gifted me this I couldn’t wait to try it. And so far it hasn’t disappointed! After a week of using it my skin feels nice and I’m certain that it’s lessened the appearance of some dark spots. I apply it on the morning, under my moisturiser. The amount released by the dropper is perfect, it goes on easily and has a nice light fragrance.

I found the serum absorbed within a few minutes.

It lifted my complexion and gave my face a healthy glow that I loved.

I have an age spot above my eyebrow and did see signs of fading and texture smoothing, it didn't remove it entirely but did fade it alot.

I liked the gently fresh citrus scent, it wasn't overpowering or chemically smelling.

I would purchase again.

I am so happy with this product. There is no better product that makes you feel so enlightened. My face felt glowing and fresh. This is so good and you don’t even have to use much. Such a great product.

I am on my 9th day today. 1st night - after my shower, I applied one entire dropper for my face as instructed. I was waiting for it to dry up, (initially, I thought, how much longer do I need to wait? 2 minutes passed, I could still see the sheerness. I touched it, and to my surprise, it's ALREADY DRY AND ABSORBED, this was the only Vitamin C that it's like combined or with the effect of a moisturiser alone! So that made me happy). *I said to myself, "Oh, the fragrance is intense. This will be stingy for my dry face or if I have breakouts. TRUST ME, the smell is intense, but the product is not that stingy compared to other brands I have tried. It is strong - yes, however, it is a good smell. 1st day of waking up with it, I had exactly two pimples that were noticeable because they were in the healing and drying stage, so for me, I said this could be the perfect timing to see if there would be any improvement. Honestly, I can't tell if it got lighter on the first day, but I continued. 2nd night after showering, I did the same. I applied it while my skin was still dumped, and at this stage, I am still uncertain, but I stick to it because of the moisturising effect I am getting. I still don't notice any changes. 2nd day of waking up with it, I noted that the pimple on my forehead was surprisingly lighter than the night before. Of course, I said to myself, "Hmmm, it cannot be just like that", So I am not 100% giving all the credit to Garnier. :D 3rd night after the shower, I applied it, and this time I wanted to see changes FOR MYSELF. I took many photos that night in all angles you can imagine and all light and no lights settings, with and without flash, to see if there would be improvements. 3rd time waking up with it, after seeing it in the mirror, I said to myself, "Now, we are talking. Could you be a game changer??" 4th night after a shower was the same routine. By the time I woke up the fourth morning with it, both of my pimples were hardly noticeable. This has got me thinking if this were all just an accident, or is it because I am using it and my next layer is from La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo (+) Anti Acne? Could it be it was a great mix?? Now, I am confused but happy with the results. I stuck with the routine I developed and continued to do so. Now I am on my 9th day, and tonight will be the 10th night that I will shower and will apply it, and let me tell you one thing, I will not hesitate to skip and say goodbye to my current Vitamin C with much $$$ and replace it with this. It's surprisingly effective on me. Whether it is because of the mix I use, I will recommend this based on my experience. I loved using it. It surprised me on the first application and still does to this day. So yes, I think I have found my perfect face-regime solution.

My skin has experienced the worse breakouts of my life in the last 4 months. Deep cysts, whiteheads and blackheads. Itchy and inflamed - BRIGHT red lesions. I wanted this product to help keep blackheads clear and prevent scarring and post-acne dark spots.

Packaging: nothing revolutionary. The dropper provides the exact amount to cover my face though.

Scent: I generally avoid fragrance in skincare, but this didn’t seem to irritate me. It is a light and fresh scent which I quite enjoyed.

Texture: absorbs quickly and spreads easily. Exactly what I want in a serum. A thin texture, but not so thin that it is difficult to transfer from your fingers to face.

Results: definitely noticed that it helped prevent and clear blackheads. This was the most noticeable effect. I think it has helped prevent hyperpigmentation as my acne lesions come and go, but I’ll only be able to see the full effect after weeks of use.

Overall, I think I will purchase this to replace my current salicylic acid toner. Niacinimide is always a good ingredient, and if the vitamin c shows long term results that will be an added bonus!

I am so impressed with this vitamin C Brightening Serum!! I have been using this serum in the morning before applying my makeup and I love the way my skin feels and looks after applying it. It feels very refreshing and rejuvenating. It has a lovely light citrus scent and feels very light and has a smoothing effect under the eyes. I have been using it for a week now and it will definitely be incorporated into my everyday routine. It definitely is a must have.
