Ecostore are a brand that I had heard of in relation to eco-conscious household cleaning products, but I was not aware that they made skincare products too.
This night cream comes in a dark green and white cardboard box, with the image of orange sunlight filtered through green water on one side. The cream comes in a 50ml white glass container with a dark green plastic lid.
The cream is labelled as a “replenishing night cream” for “all skin types”. It contains avocado oil, shea butter, seaweed, grapeseed and harakeke extracts. The cream itself is beige, and it has a slightly earthy, but not unpleasant, scent. My skin is dry, and although this cream is not designed specifically for dry skin, it feels rich when I apply it, and my skin feels moisturised. The texture feels a little like clay, so it does have a slightly dry feel to the cream, in the sense that it feels almost like a moisturising clay mask. I think this cream would work especially well for combination and oily skin.
Altogether, I am enjoying this cream and I will continue to use it after the trial.
Unfortunately, I used this night cream for only a few nights as it was a bit too moisturizing for my skin. I was super excited to have a try alongside the cleanser and moisturiser. Again, I love the simplistic design! The cream felt lovely as I apply it to my face, however, it too left me feeling like I had a film over my face. As mentioned above, my skin disn't tolerate such intense moisturizer and I could feel the tell tale signs of breaking out within a vouple of applications. I was fortunate enough to try all 3 products and the common thread that I have is the smell.... it was not horrid but definitely not enjoyable. I would not use this again as it did not suit my skin. I imagine someone that requires extreme moisture would love it...once they got used to the smell.
