Alpine Silk Rosehip Oil

I loved how easy to apply this oil was! It blends into my skin so nicely without having to use too much, which I really liked as the body oil I had previously been using made me feel like I had to use heaps to get a nice coverage. The rosehip oil made my both my body and face feel really nourished and hydrated, just like it said it would. The bottle/packaging is also nice and easy to use. The only thing I wasn't 100% sold on was the smell. It was a very 'earthy' smell, not horrible but I would have preferred a sweeter smell to it. This being said the ingredients are natural and organic, which I guess is why it doesn't have a 'fake' sweet smell to it, which is a win to me!

Beauty oil

I was really excited to try this oil but unfortunately it was a bit of a let down for me.

Firstly, I cannot stand the smell of this. I expected it to have a nice floral scent but unfortunately it just smells of oil and slightly citrusy. I’m not sure if it’s me heighten sense of smell due to pregnancy but I found this quite unpleasant.

I can’t say I’ve noticed much of a difference in the texture or tone of my skin, I may need to use it for longer to see the benefits.

It does take awhile for the oil to absorb into your skin, so I have been massaging it into my skin after a shower when my pores are open, I find though that the oil still sits on the surface of my skin for quite sometime.

I do like the brushed bottle which helps make it non-slip. The dropper is also good as it helps get the right amount of product.

Tips: Massage into skin

Rosehip oil

I’ve never used Rosehip oil because so I wasn’t really sure what to expect or how my skin would react as I have sensitive skin. But I have to say, I’ve been really impressed with the results. I didn’t find the oil to be scented. After applying 3 drops to my face with the dropper, I massaged this oil into my skin. After using this oil for nearly one week, my face is less red and it’s definately more hydrated. I haven’t noticed any fine lines (especially on the forehead from frowning too much) to be reduced though.

Tips: Use 2-3 drops and massage into the skin

New favourite Rosehip oil!

I've tried quite a few different brands of Rosehip oil over the years and this Alpine Silk one has by far been the best. I love that it's also a New Zealand brand and that it's certified organic. It soaks into the skin really easily and doesn't leave the skin feeling greasy. It has been great to use on these cold winter days when my skin has been dehydrated and dry. It helps even out my skin tone and is the perfect base for the rest of my skincare. I wake up with skin that looks and feels more nourished. I will definitely continue to use this product!

Rosehip Oil

I’m not 100% sure what this stuff does? The smell is pretty bad, but it does feel like VERY concentrated moisturiser and leaves your face oily. Because it’s an oil. Duh. The packaging is not hugely modern and I’m guessing they could have trouble selling for this reason. Application is with a dropper, and considering you really only need to use 2-3 drops you do get a fair amount of product. I’m still yet to see any difference or reduction in fine lines etc. I put it under my eyes and it makes me feel like I will wake up with no crinkles...but nothing changes haha!

Tips: Overall... just chill out and know nothing really works on lines other than Botox. Also don’t slather your face in this. I did it the first night and I got clogged pores and pimples.

Nice oil that hydrates my skin

Luckily I was chosen to review this Organic Rosehip Oil :) I have used an Organic Rosehip Oil before (different brand) and found it worked well so was excited to try this one.

Firstly the packaging - ok it looked a bit old fashioned to me, pretty but a little "fuddy duddy" without being mean of course! I think it's the piny colour with the rose, dunno it just reminded me of something my Grandma would have in her medicine cabinet. In saying that I didn't not like it - it was nice (my 6 year old daughter thought it was cool).

Moving on to the bottle, it was nice being glass with a dropper, which most oils seem to have. I actually didn't really love the dropper on this bottle as it seemed to leak everywhere whenever I took it out unfortunately. It wasn't really bad but enough to be annoying where it would drip on the bench and down the side of the bottle, so that was a downside.

The oil itself is nice, smells good not strong and natural smelling - it says to apply 2-3 drops to your face and neck but I did find that I needed more like 4-5 drops to get the whole face and neck done. After using it for about a week I think it has made a difference to my skin, it does feel smoother (that was one of my issues having uneven feel and tone) and looks a little brighter :)

I only cleanse my skin at night and normally put on my sisters organic moisturiser but used this oil instead and I really like how it feels on my skin. To help with fine lines? Not really too sure on this as yet but I will continue to use this oil to see if it does help there.

I love how it is Certified Organic as I try and use organic on my skin where possible. I would buy this product even though the dropper is a bit annoying, it's not enough to stop me using it as it seems to work well.

Tips: I use more than the suggested 2-3 drops for my face and neck

Love it

The Alpine Silk Certified Organic Rosehip Oil comes in a cute pink box and has a drop applicator that helps control the amount of product used. Even though it say's Rosehip, I found that there was actually no scent, which I love as sometimes skin care scents can be a bit over powering, the bottle is a great size and although I've been using it quite a lot, I have barely made a dent in it so I feel this is going to be great value for money. I struggle with combination skin, I have quite oily patches where as the rest of my skin is extremely dry. I was a bit nervous when I first applied the Rosehip oil to my face as it immediately felt and looked oily, however, after about 30 mins, the oily feeling had disappeared and my skin felt amazing. There was a period of two days where I was unable to apply the Rosehip oil to my face and my skin was screaming out for it, such a noticeable difference and change in the way my skin felt, there is no way I am ever going without this again. It does state that the Rosehip is supposed to reduce fine lines and uneven skin tone, I have definitely noticed my uneven skin tone looks so much more even and is much brighter in general, however, I do not think I have been using this long enough yet for a noticeable difference in my fine lines to show, regardless this is my new favorite skin care product. I am telling eeryone I know about this because I absolutely love it.

Tips: 2-3 drops of this is more than enough, I use the applicator to drop the product onto both my cheeks and then one drop on my forehead, i then rub it in, in small circular motions, 2-3 drops are more than enough to cover your entire face and I have noticed the more regularly I use it, the less I have to actually apply each day.

Would recommend!

I really like this rosehip oil.

It doesn't have an offensive smell (I seem to have had a few oils in the past which have!). It glides onto the skin really easily and a little goes a long way. I only have to use 2 - 3 drops across my entire face so this bottle will last ages.

It leaves my skin feeling hydrated and I do think it has helped to even out my skin tone a bit. I've tried this product both at night and in the morning under my make-up and both work well.

The packaging of the bottle itself is pretty sleek too.

I like that this product is made in NZ as I try to support NZ business when I can.

The only reason it isn't scoring perfect marks is because I can't say it has reduced the appearance of my fine lines. Maybe it will as I use it for longer.

Also, I couldn't find any information about if Alpine Silk test on animals or use products tested on animals? I would be keen to find out because that is also something that guides what beauty products I buy.

Overall, one of the best oils I have tried in some time.

Tips: Put a few drops on your skin under your make-up. This oil sits well underneath powder and cream make-up products.

perfect for uneven skin textures.

I have used a few reship oils they have been too harsh for my sensitive skin, so was a bit weary when trying this one. To my surprise this one wasn't! I am prone to eczema around my nose and have found sometimes some rosehip oils can make this sting when applied, this brand didn't do that for me! I applied at night after a shower and it quickly absorbed into my skin and didn't leave it feeling overly greasy, unlike some other brands. It didn't make me breakout at all like some oils can. In the morning my face felt hydrated and skin looked even in tone and texture. after a few days of using this i noticed when applying my makeup, my foundation seemed to blend and go on more even without caking into any dry patches. I am overall really impressed and have now added it to my daily routine.

Tips: A little goes a long way, you don't need to use much at all.

Glowing skin

The packaging to me looks old fashioned, like something you would find in the 50’s - and I love it! The oil comes in quite a big bottle compared to some other oils I have purchased which is a win. I mix a few drops into both my moisturiser and night cream and I noticed that the creams became thicker feeling and my skin feels super hydrated. I love how it is made from organic oils and it makes me feel like I’m really treating my skin to something good. My skin looks firmer, more even, and healthier already

Tips: Mix a few drops into your daily moisturiser and night creams to get super hydrated
