I Tried To Like This But...

This Restoring Oil comes in a cool glass bottle with a dropper, which is quite dinky, unfortunately that is all I like about this product. I wanted to like it, but I found that this oil would just sit on the skin, and I felt like I was basting the Christmas dinner. I found there to be little to no absorption, and this made me want to take it off so I didn't transfer it to clothing. I feel this would be suited to extremely dry and mature skin, and it maybe good to use after a leg wax too. I just cannot get used to the slippery texture of an oil, and I prefer my skin to be instantly hydrated, not to have a product sit on the skin. Unfortunately this is my least favourite product from the Trilogy Sensitive range, I just can't like it. No scent, no irritation, I did not notice any calming, just a greasy oil I couldn't wait to take off.

Tips: You could try adding a drop to your body moisturiser for added moisture if you like the texture of an oil.

Trilogy restoring oil

I've tried a few face oils now and have concluded they are just not for me. I gave this one a try as part of the trial and in the hope it would be different. I have no problem with oils and they are great for some people however they are just too heavy and oily for me. This oil was slightly better, it felt lovely to apply and had a pleasant subtle scent. But it just didn't absorb enough and kinda just sat on the surface of my skin looking greasy. I think this would be a great oil for people who like using them or who have super dry skin

Tips: Use sparingly

A little oily for my skin

This oil comes in a 30ml amber coloured glass bottle with a dropper. The instructions are to massage 2-3 drops onto the face after cleansing and before moisturising to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

The oil felt quite a lot oilier than other facial oils I regularly use and took longer than I expected to soak in. I used mainly at night because of this, and also that using 5-6 products one after the other takes lots of time. Maybe a preference thing and related to having more mature, (over 50) dry, sensitive skin?

Probably my least favourite of the products. In saying that something seems to have been working as I do think that the lines and wrinkles have decreased. Perhaps worth keeping up with it after all?

As with the other products in the range, there’s lots of natural goodies – antioxidants, nourishing & soothing ingredients that work well with sensitive skin, and I had no adverse reactions to this at all.

Tips: Go light on application and choose your areas that need extra repair- 2 drops was more than enough for me.

Alright but not my fav!

I received this restoring oil as part of the trilogy sensitive range trail team. I must admit this is my least favorite item from the product range. The oil comes in a nice glass bottle with a dropper which gives you better control on how much product you'd like to use. It is fragrance free and all natural. I found that 2 drops was more than enough for the face and neck but personally I found it to be a bit too oily and I have dry skin. I did not like the oily feel after using the product and was a little concerned that my skin might start to break out but thankfully that didn't happen.I prefer my face products (oils, serums and moisturizers) to get absorbed into my skin rather than leave the oily sheen. However my skin did feel nourished after using it but I didn't really see much difference with fine lines, but than again I don't think it is fair to comment on that just after using it for 3 weeks. A longer use might give better results in reducing fine lines. I think it is better to use this when your skin is really very dry and gone through some sort of damage,I wouldn't want to use it daily. Not a facial oil I would consider repurchasing.

Tips: Use sparingly on face and use any excess oil on your body.

Good but not amazing

I've used a lot of various facial oils before, including rosehip oil, chia seed oil, oil blends, and now this one. My skin type is sensitive, but underneath that it's also somewhat combination. Some days I look super oily and some days my face is perfectly oil tree (still investigating why) Then there's also the problem of acne that waxes and wanes. So I'm super careful about oil as I don't want to end up looking like a lightbulb.

The brown glass bottle protects the oil from any sun damage, and the dropper makes dispensing easy. It smells natural, how I imagine freshly pressed oil to smell. The oil is easy to spread and I find that two drops is enough for my whole face and neck area. I like to rub my palms together then press my warmed palms on my face to really help absorption. Afterwards, I do notice a slight oily looking sheen, but since I'm using this at night it doesn't really matter. After about 10 minutes I feel like 60% of it has absorbed, although if I press a blotting tissue to my cheeks I can still see smears of oil being sucked up. I wouldn't use this in the morning, because the oily layer floating on my face combined with the shine of sunscreen is a recipe for disaster. But if you have dry skin then this might be ok.

I didn't notice any major improvements in my skin's appearance, although it might've helped with replenishing moisture after me exposing my face to the harsh winter conditions. It claims to be good for sensitive skin and visibly improve fine lines/wrinkles. The former it definitely ticked, but the latter not so much. After more than a fortnight of using this, I can still see fine lines. I'll give it the benefit of doubt that this kind of stuff takes longer to show an effect, but I'd rather go for a more targeted approach.

Hmmm, not for me, but worth a go.

For me this was my least favourite product of the range.

Coming in a beautiful dropper bottle (Trilogy really win award for simple yet classy packaging) I was a bit miffed at first why I needed two oils (there's a Calming Serum in the range, spoiler...it's fabulous).

So this is like your daily oil in lieu of say your rosehip oil. I used it religiously twice daily for two weeks, but I found it too thick and it just didn't absorb. I needed two drops to use on my face but even that minimal amount just didn't absorb, 20 minutes later I could still move product around my face, I ended up blotting the excess with a tissue.

However this doesn't mean I think its a dud product, far from it, once blotted my skin felt very supple and again there were no irritations or reactions - so a great product for us with sensitive skin.

I passed this along to my daughter who has very dry skin, and she can't speak highly enough of it.

So in short, just not the Trilogy product for me, I guess at some point there had to be one, but it definitely will not put me off using Trilogy.

Beautiful, Luxurious Facial Oil

Once again I'll begin with the gorgeous, luxurious packaging. Trilogy make high quality products and they look high quality too. This is a rich facial oil containing maqui berry, apricot and sea buckthorn which is high in omega 7. It says it is to "Repair and protect sensitive skin with pure plant oils that help to visibly smooth fine lines and wrinkles." I found this very oily even on my very dry skin, so one or two drops is more than enough. I also found I preferred to apply it just to the driest parts of my face, although it didn't cause any skin oiliness or breakouts to occur, I just wasn't a huge fan of the feel afterwards. It did soon mostly absorb though and I like to use it at night time every other night or when my skin needs an extra hydration boost. I love it as a body oil as I discovered when I had some residue on my hands and rubbed it up my arms. An expensive body oil though! The dropper is great and functional. It is certified organic, fragrance free and the natural light scent from the ingredients is pleasant and barely noticeable. I think I prefer just a rose hip oil for my skin but this is very luxurious for skin treats or when skin is very dry. I will keep trying it in different ways as I think there will definitely be times where I am grateful for this nourishing, restoring oil!

Tips: Use just a little, starting with one or two drops on fingertips and dab in areas that need a little extra. Or use on fine lines or scarring. It is also great to massage an excess left on fingers into cuticles!

Beautiful But Not Fussed On Scent

I'm simply torn by this product for one reason - it's scent. It is slightly different to the other products in the sensitive range which I imagine is due to the fact that has an oil base formula instead of a creamy one.

Let's talk positive - it has great packaging and labelling with clear instructions. It comes with an easy to use dropper which allows you to distribute the product with as much or as little as you need. Great money saver. Its great for the environment because it is not plastic but glass which can be recycled. Awesome.

A little goes a long way and I found the oil consistency great as it is not oily or greasy, it blends in well as long as you don't apply too much. My makeup goes on so much more smoothly too.

Results were great too, my skin seems clearer, more firm and the pores seem to have shrunk. Overall a great oil until you get to the scent, this is where the negative part comes in for me unfortunately.

Don't get me wrong, the scent is not to the point where you want to pour the whole bottle down the drain or you feel like you want to gag. I've used some nasty oils before so its not like that, but it does have a distinct smell which kind of takes away the joy in using it. You can get past the smell as you get used to it and you know its good for your skin. If it hadn't have been for the scent I would have given it the full 5 stars.

Also the price is a tad on the high side, probably one of the most expensive oils I have come across. But it really is a good oil and I have seen some really good results and I'm excited to see what my skin will look like after it is finished.

Trilogy Restoring Oil

Like the whole range the pink and white and brown glass packaging is gorgeous and classy. The oil comes in a small bottle with a little dropper for ease of application.

I always thought a oil would make my skin extra oily. However I was pleasantly surprised. I used this oil after cleansing my skin at night prior to using the moisturiser. It absorbed quickly and did not leave my feeling greasy at all. It has a mild yet insignificant fragrance. My skin has become very sensitive since being pregnant however I had no adverse effects from using this oil.

Tips: Apply 2-3 drops of the oil in to your hand and massage in to face avoiding the eye area. Apply after cleansing prior to using moisturiser.

Replenishing and Restoring

I was extremely excited to trial this, as I have very sensitive skin and always have a hard time finding products that my skin agrees with! The packaging is beautiful and classy, I really like the pale pink and white colour theme, and the frosted glass packaging gives it such a luxurious feel, weight and look. There wasn’t really much smell to the product, which I didn’t particularly mind, it just smelt faintly kind of clean and fresh. I have been using this at night, over my moisturizer, as I find this works best for me (I tried it under my moisturizer but I found it stopped the moisturizer from soaking in). This oil has a thinner consistency and isn’t sticky, like other facial oils I have used in the past, which I like, as it doesn’t feel gluggy or heavy on my face. It doesn’t fully soak in, however doesn’t leave my skin feeling as oily or with a lot of residue, as it has with other oils. I would usually put this on after I have my shower, and by the time I go to bed, most of it has soaked in. The dropper is really handy and is a good way or distributing the product, as you can control how many droplets come out and not much product is needed- I use probably about 2 drops for my whole face. Overall, I find this is a great restoring product to use at night! For me, it would be too oily to use during the day, as it can take a while to absorb into the skin (as most oils do). While I personally don’t find it an essential part of my skin care routine, it does add moisture and I will continue to use it every now and then at night.

Tips: Not too much is needed, as it spreads easily!
