Garnier Green Labs Pinea-C Routine

Oooh the trickiest review - when you like one product of a routine but not the other!

What I liked: 1. The moisturiser! The bottle felt quality, the product worked well, and it has the added benefit of SPF. 2. The inclusion of pineapple and vitamin C - hadn't tried a product with pineapple before but it has some great vitamins in that alone. Let alone the benefits of vitamin C to the skin! 2. A gel cleanser - check out my review on the cleanser for more detail but I found the gel cleanser didn't leave my skin feeling dry.

What I didn't like: 1. The gel wash - it just didn't do anything for me. Although I was stoked it didn't do anything bad, it just didn't do anything good for my skin (unlike the moisturiser/serum cream which left my skin feeling great) 2. The overpowering fragrance of the gel wash - the serum cream just didn't have this overpowering scent, so I expected the gel wash to not smell quite as strong as it did.

Overall, using the products together didn't make a difference to my skin - but the serum cream alone my skin liked. Would buy the cream again, but not the cleanser.

After just one week of using the Garnier cleansing gel and serum routine I am surprised to already see positive results in my skin. The cleansing gel is kind on my skin and doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry or red & the serum is smooth to put on and has a nice scent. My skin is already looking brighter, smoother and overall refreshed. I would definitely recommend this combination for anyones daily skin care routine - especially at this affordable price.

I did notice my skin looked clearer at the end of the trial period and the pineapple scent was more interesting than I am used to using in the shower!

However I found the cleanser to be too drying and the serum left a greazy feel and a chemical scent that lingered for far too long.

I think it's best suited towards people with less sensitive skin and potentially oilier.

These two garnier products are the bomb! A power house mix.

The cleanser is amazing! Gentle, light weight, makes your face feel smooth. The list goes on! I haven’t noticed a lot of “ glowing” yet but I’m hopeful that the longer I use it, I might see the GLOW.

I wash with the cleanser at night and apply the serum in the morning when I get up.

The Serum is by far my favourite out of the two. It makes my skin feel and smell amazing. I don’t look so “ dull” in the mornings. I apply in the morning as it has spf in it which helps through out the day.

Highly recommend both products! I’m going to buy some of these for my younger teen sister! But really any one would benefit from it.

The packaging for both products is simple, functional and cohesive with the products sharing a similar scent that is fruity and a bit overpowering. I used the serum cream daily after rinsing my face with warm water every morning followed by a slathering of SPF. The cream felt light, sunk into the skin beautifully but I can’t say I really noticed a difference to the brightness or texture of my skin, maybe the additional SPF I used may have hindered my results but I wasn’t willing to risk sun damage to find out. The cleanser I used every second night (rotated with my usual Sukin cleansing cream) due to finding every night a bit drying on my skin. I absolutely loved the texture, it felt very lubricating almost like silk on the skin and definitely left me with a lovely glow. I’d probably skip the serum cream, it would be good for someone else who likes things a bit more simple and maybe aren’t as fussed about brightening and texture. The cleanser I think I will repurchase, it’s a supermarket hidden gem that definitely delivers!

I have been using these products for Just under a week now and overall they have both been really nice to use. However, after only a week I have not noticed any change to my skin. My skin does appear to be brighter or less dull. So I will need to continue to use these products to see if I can see long term results.

My skin: I have combination oily skin, with redness and acne scars that I would like to brighten and reduce the appearance of. I was excited to try these products as they contain vitamin c which is good for brightening pigmentation.

Cleanser: this cleanser was a gel texture, on the thinner side. I could definitely smell the pineapple in this product. The bottle was easy to squeeze and get the desired amount of product out. I also have sensitive skin and found tim his to be quite gentle. It didn’t leave my skin feeling right afterwards. My skin felt soft and smooth afterwards, similar feeling to my normal cream cleanser. However as mentioned I have not noticed a difference to the appearance in my skin yet.

Serum: the texture of the serum was light and absorbed quickly into your skin. I usually use a separate serum (or oil) followed by a moistures and SPF, and I found this serum gave my skin enough hydration. It absorbed quickly and I had no issues with applying makeup on top of it. The packaging is nice and the pump is easy to use. I like how you can can lock the pump too. Again, like the cleaner I have not seen any difference to the appearance of my skin as it’s too early to get results.

I will continue to use both products to see if my skin brightens over time

Lovely combo! It feels like a premium product, and the packaging on both items are gorgeous. You really get an eco feel. The cleanser is light and foamy without an overpowering scent, but just enough to satisfy your sense of smell. It leaves your akin feeling squeaky clean. The serum is a great moisturiser, i tried it under makeup and found it wasnt as good as other products i have tried as a base as my makeup qas slipping by the end of the day, but it did leave me feeling really hydrated at the end of the day. As far as the brightening effects of both products - I am not sure about it as I didnt see much of a difference. But in saying that, I do feel as though if this combo was used for a month+ there would be some really nice results.

I was really excited to trial this duo, I haven’t seen pineapple and vitamin C together before! I love the environmental friendly approach with this range- all the packaging is made from 100% recycled materials! They don’t contain parabens or sulfates as well.

The colour scheme also reflected that- green, white and clear. It looked fresh and clean. Overall the packaging of both products were great- really easy to use and to control the amount of product that came out.

It’s hard for me to comment on how the products worked together as a range, as the serum cream didn’t work for me. My skin type is dry and sensitive, with some dullness and uneven skin tone. The serum cream did not contain enough moisture for my skin and therefore it was dry, especially after cleansing in the evening. Perhaps it would work better on someone who has more combination or oily skin. It was interesting that it was a serum, moisturiser and SPF in one! The cleanser worked better for me on its own, due to the reasons above. It didn’t strip my skin, tighten it or cause any dryness. It worked better with my current skin routine and I liked using it. Both products worked with my sensitive skin, and neither of them caused any irritations at all, no redness or anything! That was great.

Overall, I would continue to use the cleanser but not the serum moisturiser as it didn’t work for my dry skin type. Both products went well with my sensitive skin! Both products claim to brighten, smooth and even out the skin- unfortunately I didn’t notice any obvious change with any of these affects. The cleanser perhaps may cause more brightening over time, I will keep using it to see the affects!

Together these products are a powerhouse of freshly scented goodness, making you feel energised and your skin does appear brighter! I took some before and after photos and the reduction in redness after just the cleanser let alone the serum as well were definitely noticeable enough to not attribute it to anything else. Separately they work well, together they're a powerhouse.

The serum is spf15, so there is a slight sunscreen scent to it though this is not overpowering in anyway as the pineapple helps cut through that.

Product design is minimal but effective, and both bottles suggest there will be minimal wastage of product which is always a good thing!

I have noticed an increase in pimples that were unexpected but cannot definitively say that is intrinsically linked to the use of these products as there are other factors at play as well.

Overall, a good combo that did what it said it would. Will leave you feeling fresh and ready for the day ahead and does allow for smooth make up application.

I Loved this product!, The packaging is simple which i like, i love that both the Serum and Gel wash are very very light weight so a little does go a long way with both of these & anything with Sunscreen is a win for me. The also like the smell on both of these. I think they definitely do as they say, my skin is more bright and looking good at the moment after looking very dull and bland and i think this also makes my make up go on better and look a lot nicer. I will definitely continue to purchase this
