Calming Serum

A lotion in 30ml glass bottle, containing evening primrose, aloe vera, maqui berry, calendula and green tea, amongst other natural ingredients. It did feel soothing when applied.

Instructions are to use morning and night or at the first signs of irritation, by itself or before moisturising. I was slightly confused by what this product is meant to do, but I used it twice a day and had no signs of irritation outside of these times, so I guess it does what it says.

As this is part of a regime, it’s difficult to tell which of the products you could do without. I guess to be honest for $45 I might buy this one later on if I was having irritation issues.

Good but not worth the price

This serum is great but not amazing. I'm finding it hard to distinguish it from other serums I have used. I found that it hydrated my skin well (I usually apply the moisturiser in this range on top of the serum). I do think that the redness on my cheeks have reduced. It could be due to the fact that there is nothing in this serum that irritates my skin making it perfect for sensitive skin.

I've only been using this serum for three weeks so I think with more time I may see better results and notice a difference in my skin. I tend to use a moisturiser with this serum. If I don't I find that my skin feels a bit tight.

This serum comes in a small bottle with s pump. The bottle is smaller than I expected so you will use it up faster. It also comes with a stopper the pump, so if you take it travelling or to the gym if wont spill in your bag.

For the price of this product I don't think I would purchase it again as some of my cheaper serums give me the same results. However I will continue to use the serum and see if I can notice a difference in my skin.

Calm the farm

I try to use more natural based when I can I do struggle sometimes with their effectiveness. I tried a sample of this and had no allergic reaction so brought the pump when farmers had a sale. It wasn’t super cheap but better priced than the antipodes serum I have used in the past.

It’s been a good serum.

It’s nice and light one thing I do love about it.. it’s not too heavy on the skin. I found their rosehip based serums heavy and greasy but this ones more rapidly absorbed and lighter it doesn’t feel thick, greasy or heavy on the skin. Light colour also to this one - it doesn’t stain my pillow case.

It’s been softening to my skin so it does feel effective and gentle. I think because it’s calming it’s helped my redness to not flare up also as a lot of face products tend to do to my skin. I often have skin reactions on my face and neck (ugh) so it’s been nice having this if something has caused a flare up. It definitely helps calm the farm. It’s nice to know I can reach for something to help even just with taking the edge off the dryness and itching.

Calms the redness!

Great product, I’ve been using this for about 6 months now. I scored one at the ecoya/trilogy factory sale earlier in the year for $5 and decided to give it a go. It smells divine, soaks into the skin really well and I have noticed a big change in my angry blemished skin. I pop it on in the morning after cleansing and pop a moisteriser I’ve the top to lock it in. I’ve noticed much less redness, and it helps calm my skin if I’ve had a bit much salt water and sun! It’s a bit spends, but a little goes a long way.

Tips: Pop it in the fridge in summer, it’s really refreshing refrigerated. Buy it from chemist warehouse, it’s much cheaper than Farmers etc.

Love this Serum

I have been trialling this serum for 3 weeks as part of the complete range and have thought long and hard about to review this product. I am 43 years old with oily skin, which I have always looked after well with quality products. I have really enjoyed using this product, however I don't have any issues regarding irritation or sensitivity, hence cannot comment on whether the product does what it says it should. It is however, a lovely serum, which soaks in easily into the skin. It feels calming and nourishing and on some days I have used it alone with the moisturiser and have felt hydrated all day. The packaging is lovely, as is the whole range, with frosted brown glass but the pump is quite stiff making it difficult to get a smooth dispense. (This could just be the bottle I had). Overall a lovely product, which I would recommend to friends to had problematic skin to try it.

Tips: Small amount goes a long way.

Calming face serum

I trialed the 'Very Gentle Calming Serum' over the past three weeks I have dry, sensitive, acne prone and a small amount of redness of my cheeks and nose. The packaging of this product is in a white cardboard box which is recyclable, with a light apricot/pink colour on the top of the box. It states on the box 'Sensitive' and lists the active ingredients 'maqui berry, SyriCalm and calendula.' I really like how on the box it shows that the product is certified by BioGro as a natural cosmetic, that is really important to backup that big statement.

The product itself comes in a 30ml glass amber bottle with a small push pump bottle. The texture is a white liquid that easily soaks into my skin when I rub it in. I found the pump to bit quite 'squirty' even after using it every day it didn't really often, so you can't control how much product with ease. Its either the whole pump press or you get nothing, although a little goes a long way, the amount that squirted out isnt excess as I used it on my face, neck and decolletage. Once it is on my skin instantly it feels refreshed and a slight cooling effect, my redness on my cheeks and nose decreases, and once the liquid has sunk it, my skin is left feeling extremely soft. I think this product would work wonders for people who have trouble with the tightness feeling of skin, or those who struggle with redness, acne, fragile or irritated skin. I thought this would work well in those summer months when your skin has a lot more sunshine on it, it would calm and soothe really well.

On the box it suggests to use on cleansed skin, in the morning and night, or first signs of irritation. I tried all the suggested ways, and I enjoyed using after I cleansed before I went to bed it felt like it really was calming my skin from the day of work being in the sun and in a room with air conditioning.

The price point is $44.99 for 30ml, as I said before a little goes a long way which means this could last me personally 6 months using 5 times a week or any times my skin felt extra irritated. I enjoy the luxury feel of the product having a glass bottle. I do know that Farmers and Trilogy have sales on their website and instore every so often so if you wanted to pick these up for a special deal I would wait for that time to stock up.

This is a great addition to the range, especially for those extremely sensitive girls, this would be a god send. I would purchase this again to have on hand for those sensitive skin moments that flare up.

What A Treat

Lovely packaging. Easy to use pump bottle. Apply under moisturizer if you need some soothing help with your skin. I actually found my skin tightening after application. When I have a skin flareup I would reach for this serum and apply twice a day.

Tips: One pump is enough.

Gentle on Skin

This serum is very good for anyone with sensitive skin like myself. I have the occasional flare ups on my face of dry itchy redness, and have found this serum to be very soothing and moisturizing. Doesn't irritate my skin and sinks in very quickly. The pump bottle is handy, but I always have trouble getting the last bit of product out with these types of containers. Lovely natural ingredients like Calendula, Chamomile and Green Tea. I would recommend this serum as part of the Trilogy Very Gentle range. Pricing is higher than some but can be purchased on special.

Gentle Calming Serum

This is such a great product. The packaging is gorgeous! It has a nifty cap covered dispenser however, when you try to squeeze the product out it squirts everywhere and its hard to just get a small amount out. The serum itself is a light white consistency which initially took me a while to get use to the slightly tightening sensation. I use it in the mornings, underneath my moisturiser. The smell has a slight beachy scent, which I found quite pleasing. I found this helps prevent my skin from feeling irritated, red and tight...instead, my skin feels hydrated and soothed. AND the best thing in my whole life...my 19 year old daughter said that skin looks great and that I dont need to use it anymore because she wants to use the products! Hmmm, yeah nah!

EDITED - My daughter developed a contact dermatitis type rash around her nasal folds. It was sore, red and was upsetting her. We tried different products which caused more irritation. I suggested using the calming serum with the oil over top and saw an immediate improvement. We now have another Trilogy convert!

Tips: Use daily, in the mornings and under the corresponding moisturiser. I have found it so beneficial around my cheeks and nasal folds these get quite dry and irritated!

Calming Indeed

Trilogy calming serum!!! OMG where have you been all this time! This serum comes in a nice glass pump bottle (making it very hygienic) with cover and there's 30mls of product in it. The texture is quite watery making it very easy to apply and to be absorbed into the skin leaving it quite hydrated. This serum did not leave any oily look or feel on my skin and I love the fact that one pump is enough for the whole face. It does not have any smell and feels very light on the skin. The first week I used it morning and night and could literally see the redness on my cheeks and nose area disappearing. Now I use it as a morning skin ritual before moisturizing. My skin feels a lot smoother and skin texture has improved vastly. I feel it is priced quite fairly especially if I am to compare it to the serum I was using previously. Love it... totally in love with this serum. Thank you BR for introducing me to this serum.

Tips: One pump is all you need, however you can use any access amount for your hands.
