Love the smell!

This scrub is a natural NZ-made scrub that uses walnut to exfoliate. It has wonderful ingredients like cucumber, Manuka honey and aloe vera, plus it is easily picked up at the supermarket.

I love the fact that walnut is used instead of nasty microbeads and the product smells really lovely. The creaminess filled with all those goodies soothes my sensitive skin while I scrub.

However, I'm not sure I'm in love with the walnut as the scrub. I find this a bit too coarse for my face, but not quite scrubby enough for my body, so I'm not sure how I should be using it. Mainly I just use it so I can smell it! :D

This is a good scrub if you want a gentle scrub for your body, or a rougher scrub for your face, but you may find, like me, you end up just using it so you can smell good!

Great exfoliator and smells nice

Excellent product, has a nice abrasive feel for those that like to feel they are really scrubbing their skin but is very gentle and smells good too :)

My teenager loves skin food.

Got this whole skin food routine for my teenager. For her first face products I wanted something gentle. I seen her skin glow up with these products. She enjoys using the exfoliating scrub with how it made her skin look and feel. So I added this to my face routine too and it’s simply beautiful to use. Fresh subtle smell to it also leaves my face feeling hydrated. Love that this is a affordable too.

Tips: A little goes a long way. I use on my lips too my lips are so soft takes away all the buildup of skin on lips.

Would use again, definitely.

I think I got this out of a beauty box or something, because I certainly didn’t buy it. I’d never heard of it until it arrived. Previously I’d have bought Lush face scrubs, as they’re the only ones I trust. I’ve found that other brands either do nothing for my skin, or they actually damage it. I’m saying that, I am impressed with this product. First of all, it has lasted me quite a while. At least 7 months of use mostly every night. I have used other products in between. It comes out with a lot of grain, and because of this I was worried it would tear my skin up, but it’s surprisingly gentle. I’ve seen reviews for other products with a similar texture that have basically scratched away at peoples’ faces and left them worse than before. Scary, but not so in this case. The grain is excellent at removing dead skin cells, cleaning out pores, and leaving my fave feeling reborn. The other ingredients are fantastic for my dry skin and I always feel fresh afterwards. It’s an excellent cleanser. It’s on my list of favourite facial scrubs.

Better than most

It has taken me a while to make up my mind about this product. Before I tried it I decided to finish the exfoliator I was using. I am quite particular or fussy when it comes to an exfoliator because I believe that half of those on the market probably do more damage to the skin than good. The packing is simple and convenient. The product is very thick but no problem squeezing it out of the tube and it has a very light lemony/lime fragrance which smells 'clean'. Usually the beads or exfoliating substance is what causes the damage to the skin, but the walnut pieces are not too small (in fact they are fairly large) and I don't believe they do any damage as they are well 'rounded' . The exfoliator leaves the skin feeling squeaky clean. It does not leave that tight dry feeling which is great. Yes I am impressed as it is very affordable and it appears to do the trick.

Tips: I use a small quantity on my knees and elbows (the driest patches) when in the shower and then apply moisturiser and have found the dryness has disappeared.

skinfood exfoliating scrub

I got this product in my March beauty box. Which I was pleased about as I have been meaning to get it from the supermarket as I have the rest of the other products anyway I used it and it is great but I find it abit harsh for my skin, but in saying that I may do my facial scrub a little to hard so I could be my own worse enemy, apart from that it is a great product, my skin felt smooth and soft, I didn't react to it apart from my heavy handedness, it has a light citris smell which I love and it is the same right through the range, the walnut shell is nice littlish beeds which is great not like some that have sharp ends which do damage to the surface of the skin, over all it is a great product and dose what it is suppose to, love it!!

Skinfood does it again

When I saw in the BRBB that quite a few people got this product I really wanted to purchase this. I received the Cleanses All Cleanser in the BRBB so I picked this up the next time that I went to the supermarket. The Skinfood products are all very reasonably priced around $10 so it doesn't hurt the bank too much to pop one of these into your trolley every now and again.

The packaging for this is very simple and doesn't feel cheap at all which is nice. It is in a white tube with a flip top lid at the bottom. I love the skinfood logo in green, so modern and cute. The tube is squeezy so easy to get all of the product out.

The product itself is a thick cream with the exfoliating 'bits' in it. I really like that the bits are walnut shell so are really natural and you don't have to worry about them getting into the eco-system. The scent is quite nice and I really like the lime in it, quite refreshing. Nothing about this feels cheap. I like this a lot as you can decide how exfoliating you want it to be by how much you scrub it into your skin. Once you wash this off it doesn't leave any residue, makes your skin feel really nice and clean. I really like that it doesn't make your skin feel stripped.

Overall I am extremely impressed with this product, and I can't wait to try more from the Skinfood range. Thanks BR for introducing me to it.

Skinfood Exfoliating Scrub

When my old exfoliater finished I was excited to try this Skinfood one as I love all of the other products that I have tried in this range.

The packaging is appealing, simple and easy to use. I like that it stands with the lid at the bottom so you can easily get the product out.

The walnut shells are fairly large which for me was the downside of this product. When I was younger I really liked my exfoliators to be quite course which this product would have then been perfect for me however as I have aged I favored a finer exfoliator which is why I wouldn't purchase this again. I did like the creamy base as it feels like it nourishes as it exfoliates.

I love that it is made from natural ingredients and that it is a New Zealand company and I think for $13.99 it is a great price. Although it is not for me I would recommend to other people who like quite a rough exfoliating scrub.

Tips: Great for whole body use!

Smells like a Traffic Light Popsical

I was looking for a scrub with natural exfoliants as I hadn't used one in a while and this was really affordable, picked it up from Countdown, even when it's full price its a good price but Countdown often have specials.

It doesn't feel like anything special although it has a lot of grit in a small amount of product. The main reason I keep picking it up in the shower is for the smell, takes me back to my childhood having Traffic Light Popsicles, I think it must be the lime in it mixed with the sweet scents like almond.

Tips: A little goes a long way so this lasts for a long time, especially since you don't really want to use a physical scrub more than once a week.

A good scrub but use gently

I love that the scrub is mostly natural and is cruelty free, those two factors give it a big thumbs up from me. It also does a great job of removing dead skin and leaving your face feeling smooth and soft. It also doesn't dry out the skin and almost leaves it feeling moisturized which is a nice change. However the walnut shell is a bit much and cause damage to the skin if you aren't careful.

Tips: I would use it gently as the walnut shell pieces and can a little harsh on the skin if you are too vigorous.
