Not so natural

I decided to purchase a night cream after reading the article on night creams on BR and thought this Neutrogena one sounded like a good match for my skin type and skin needs.

First of all the packaging is nice and simple and sleek. I love glass jars like this one I think they look so much nicer than plastic containers. The clear glass also means you can easily see how much you have left.

The scent of this product is a little odd to me and It just reminds me of a old soap...which is not particularly appealing to me, but I did get used to it.

It has a thick creamy texture but I still found it easy to spread over my entire face and found a little goes a long way. It sinks into the skin reasonable quickly so you are not left with an oily or heavy feeling on the face.

Initially, in the first couple of days I began using this cream my skin felt lovely and moisturised initially but I don't feel it left any softer or hydrated when I woke in the morning. On about the third day my skin was severely irritated. I developed a rash all over my face, it was extremely dry, very stingy and itchy. This was the only new product I introduced into my routine so I know the reaction was due to this.

I'm not sure what I reacted to in this product which is a shame, but, even if It had not irritated my skin I would not have repurchased as I just didn't find it very nourishing and hydrating in comparison to other creams I have since tried and the rosehip oil I was using previously to this.

I do not think this night cream is worth its cost and will be sticking to my rosehip oil and wild ferns manuka night creme which is 100% natural.

Tips: If you choose to use this product I would apply a serum of facial oil and let that sink in before applying this for added hydration as I don't find this is sufficient alone.

That's good :-). Yes, it's a mystery isnt it? I'm fine with most Neutrogena products, except this range.

Great review. Sorry to hear you had a reaction - I also had a reaction to the cleanser from this range. Hope your skin is better now x

Great night times will be ahead...

If you told me I could only use one skincare product in my life it would definitely be a night cream! Night times are when it I find it easier to care for myskin, because my makeup has been removed, oiliness washed away, skin nicely scrubbed down and prepared to be treated.

Product: Its housed in a glass pot which I quite enjoy as it gives the cream the look of a high end brand. Its only 48g so naturally I was worried that I'm going to run out of this cream because I love to plaster my skin.

First impression: The cream smells like a combination of kiwi fruit and orange which I really love. Its pleasant to the senses, not overpowering at all and deep within the cream there's probably some vanilla hidden away as well. All the right flavour combinations for me (oh no I sound like Manu from MKR!)

First use: Using it the first night, I dipped my fingers into the pot and scooped out a heap of cream and massaged it into my face but it was far too much. I learnt quickly that you only need a few dots on your skin and its more than sufficient for coverage. The cream is smooth, silk, rich and thick! This definitely ticks all the cream boxes for me as I love a thick and creamy face cream. There nothing worse then wanting to treat your skin but the cream you're using might as well just be water.

This cream soaks into your skin almost immediately, but doesnt leave your skin thirsty for more. It really hydrates and nourishes your skin while you're applying and you go to bed with unbelievable soft skin. Not to mention the lovely compliments you're going to get from your partner loving the smell of your face :)

I've been using the cream for 8 consecutive nights/days and every morning I wake up, my skin is soft and has a dewy feel to it. The best part of all is that it didnt break me! No new acne from a new product so I'm extremely happy about that.

Does it live up to its promises? "Soften skin and moisturise" Absolutely! My skin is definitely softer and really hydrated. I've been noticing that the oiliness of my skin is somehow kept at bay as well. Double win for me. "Reduce the dullness and roughness" Yes and no. My skin wasnt glowing like it was sprinkled with fairy dust but it definitely wasnt rough. The look of my skin didnt change much I must admit. "Improve radiance for healthier looking skin" I'm not sure. My skin feels healthy but it doesnt necessary look healthy because what person with an acne riddled skin looks healthy? With so many boxes ticked I think it worth every penny of the price tag.

I love using the cream and would definitely recommend it to people who are looking for a change in their night time routine because you love the feel and softness of your skin. I would imagine that somebody with a naturally heathly and flawless skin would reap the benefits of a glowing and radiant skin.

Tips: Just a use a few dots on your and massage into face and neck. You dont need anymore than that.

This cream works magic after using an exfoliating scrub because you feel it sinking into your pores and your skin is instantly smooth and hydrated.

Really great review! I was interested in how this would work with acne-prone skin and I'm glad it ticks your boxes. Also pleased to hear it's not strongly scented as I found the Neutrogena cleanse really fragranted.

Neutrogena naturals multivitamins night cream

I'm not a night cream user before I tried this one. This cream really works well with my skin. It did deliver on its promise to soften and moisturize. It is a bit thick and I have to massage the cream a bit to my skin to even it out otherwise it leaves a white film. It is affordable and one only needs to use pea sized amount for the entire face. I find my skin quite supple and well moisturized the morning after. It also looks more refreshed and even after a few days of using it. this could be the result because I use a night moisturizer now compared to not using one before. It absorbs quite well and no oily face afterwards. The scent reminds me of multivitamins I used to take when I was a kid. It smells a bit sweet but once the product was applied, the scent seems to go away. I never have any break out or reaction to this product which is good. I don't have that stingy feeling compared to other products I have tried out. I will buy this again.

Interesting review - I was so keen to get this on the trial, as it's affordable and I have found Neutrogena products to be good value for money. Might have to buy it after my other night creams run out and try it for myself.

Sitting on the fence

I'm undecided about this product. Neutrogena is using strong marketing by using the term 'Naturals'. The product appears to use only vegetable oils which are much healthier than the mineral oils & derived products in many skin-care products. But I'm not so keen on the use of palm kernel as a source of ingredients due to the massive environmental damage that the palm oil industry causes (eg. deforestation, orangutan deaths & loss of habitat, loss of carbon sinks for global warming, effects of mono-culture). And there is no info (on the brand page or packaging) on whether the South American products are Fair Trade or otherwise responsibly-sourced. The moisturiser feels light & non-greasy, spreads well so would last quite well. The fragrance seems very artificial, & a bit overpowering (after Ecostore products, at least).

Not bad, but not for me.

Let's set the scene - I have combo skin very dry cheeks and nose crevices, slightly dry forehead, oily chin and nose. Not particularly sensitive.

I usually stick to Simple moisturiser, because it does the job for a reasonable price. I've never used a separate night cream, but was excited to try this as I've tried the Neutrogena Naturals cleanser/makeup remover and love it!

The packaging is lovely - I'm not a fan of extra boxes simply for the environmental factor, but it's recycled and as the actual container is a glass jar, you need it. The jar feels luxurious, expensive and screams quality. Price-wise, it's great value for money!

Easy to open and the first thing I notice is the colour. It's not pure white like most creams, it's a pale beige. Which actually makes me buy in to the natural theme more!

It smells very sweet, like a sweet shop; which I love because I hate floral scents.

The cream isn't as rich as I expected, but it's thick enough and cool to touch. I sort of dotted it around my face and neck and used upwards strokes. My skin felt refreshed, which is always nice before you go to bed!

I woke up in the morning and ahhh, my skin felt so smooth and soft. Very happy, so I used it again that night, paying even more attention to applying it with upward strokes.

Then on the 4th day, I applied it more thickly than usual (I was going for an intensive treatment) and ouchies, it began to sting. It wasn't so painful that I had to wash it off, but it wasn't too pleasant. My skin felt a little bumpy and irritated the next day. I hadn't changed anything else in my routine, I applied to clean skin. So it was strange, and like I said I don't have particularly sensitive skin.

I've left it for a few days and am tempted to try again (using less product) because the results over the first 3 days were amazing - I want that soft morning skin back!!

I'll let you know how I get on!

Tips: You only need a small amount to get a great moisture kick.

Lovely first Night Cream!

My first night Cream! I am 29 with Normal to Oily skin. I get breakouts and have a few fine lines.

The first thing I noticed about Neutrogena Naturals Night Cream was the packaging. I LOVE the glass jar it comes in. Gives the illusion of a really high end product and makes you feel like you are going to treat your skin when you open the glass jar....I think Caviar for your skin!

The second thing i noticed was the smell. I was unsure at first as I could not work the smell out but I have grown to really enjoy the smell. It is very strong and smells like Apricot Kernels, maybe?

The formulation is light that would suit young skin or medium to Oily. I do not feel this would be heavy enough for really dry skin. I have had no breakouts using this product which is a bonus for me (I have heard of night creams breaking people out as they have "too much" in them)!

I really like how this product contains no nasties and is really affordable. Leaves your skin smooth after use and still feels lovely in the morning (even after sleeping on your pillow).

Tips: A great first Night Cream !

Light but right for night

I have to state up front that I've never been a fan of night creams. I've tried a few over the years but they always felt too heavy and left me feeling like I was drowning my skin overnight, preventing it from breathing or recuperating from the previous day's makeup.

So when I received this night cream in a gift pack from BR I wasn't expecting much. Gee, was I wrong!

I love this cream. I love the smell of it on my skin as I go to sleep at night and I love even more the effect on my skin overnight. The cream is incredibly light on your skin, not feeling as if it is coating your skin, but rather feeding it gently with all the lovely things it needs. I've even used this during the day, it feels so nice, and it has kept my oily skin under control.

What I find most remarkable about this cream is that I rub it on at night and when I wake up the next morning my skin feels so incredibly soft and smooth. It's not oily or sticky and the skin honestly feels softer, smoother and younger. The creases around my eyes seem to be less noticeable as well, which is a great thing! I'm also not getting the dry patches I used to get on my cheeks and even my morning primer slides on easier.

If I had to find a negative point it would be that the cream is a slightly off-putting grey colour, but that's because it's a 'natural' product without all the dyes and bleaches. I'd also prefer it if it were in a tube rather than a jar, as it would be easier to apply, but these are minor points and the results far outweigh these negatives for me.

Tips: You don't need much of this cream - a little goes a long way, so start off with less than you think you'll need and then add more if required.

A Lovely, Nourishing Cream!

I recently received the Neutrogena Naturals Multivitamin Night Cream from the Beauty Vault, and have finally had enough time to properly test it out and review it!

What I instantly fell in love with about this product was the packaging. Neutrogena does away with their standard plastic here for a gorgeous glass screw-top container. It makes the product seem a lot more glamorous and expensive than it actually is.

The scent from this product is really lovely. A little on the stronger side as far as moisturisers go, but if you like fresh and citrusy then it's worth a shot. Either way, it fades quite quickly after application so it won't overwhelm you as you sleep.

The cream is quite thick and nourishing. I definitely notice that my skin is softer and smoother in the morning after application. I have been applying it to my forehead (the rest of my face is a little too oily for something rich) and neck, and don't find any adverse reactions or breakouts of any kind.

Am loving this night cream! A little more expensive than your average moisturiser, but I do really like it.

My new night cream

I purchased this through the Beauty Vault and what appealed was it was a natural, multivitamin enriched product. When it arrived I was impressed by the packaging as it comes in a bright box which promises a crisp smart product. Comes in a clear glass jar so easy to know when to re purchase. A little goes a long way. I have struggled to find a night cream that is not too heavy as I don't have overly dry skin but I still want something that I know is working on keeping my skin hydrated and "fed". First impression was wow yummy smell - quite tropical but yet not over powering. Second impression was a it felt like it covered well but didn't feel gluggy on my skin. It is absorbed fast, I don't feel like I am leaving half it on my pillow. My skin has felt lovely in the morning. I have enjoyed this product so much I have just purchased the day moisturiser to try. In summary - a great reasonably priced product that feels great and does a good job! I'll review the moisturiser once I've been using it for a while.

Tips: A little goes a long way. I use on face, neck and décolletage as it absorbs so quickly.

Very Moisture Intense

I have been using this for about 4 days now and I am loving how soft it makes my skin feel.

At 48 grams it is slightly smaller than other moisturising creams out there, but with the amount you actually need to use, it should last you a while.

The cream itself is quite thick, so when using it you don't need much. A little definitely goes a long way!

I find it to have quite a pleasant smell - smells a little like lollies (well, that's what I think anyway).

When putting it on, I do find that it does take a bit of rubbing onto my face to ensure that my skin has absorbed it all, but when I have done that, wow, my skin is SO incredibly soft. I got my boyfriend to touch my face as well, to see if he thought it was softer than usual and he agreed with me that it was.

In the mornings when I wake up, I notice that my skin is still soft and looks quite rested, which is definitely a good thing.

For the price it is definitely value for money. I would probably purchase this one again.

My skin type is combination and I am 37 years old

Tips: You really don't need to use much to get soft, moisturised skin :o)
