Great for early aging skin types

Another great moisturiser by L’Oréal. Packaging as expected with L’Oréal‘S skin care ranges. Quite a heavy jar with a easy to use screw on and off lid

The product itself is quite thick which meant my skin felt instantly nourished and hydrated. I used it Morning and night and always woke with my skin feeling hydrated. Loved that it had an SPF on it - wish it was higher to suit NZ’s harsh sun but I used a sunscreen over top. Makeup say great over this moisturiser with no issues at all and skin felt great all day!

I imagine with long term use the wrinkles and firmness would continue to improve - but hard to know after only a couple of weeks of use but my skin certainly appeared plumper and skin firmer. My skin isn’t overly wrinkly but the fine lines certainly seemed less visible particular with make up.

Another great product by L’Oréal. Love that they have ranges targeting the mid 40’s age group!

L'Oreal Paris Wrinkle Expert 45+ Moisturiser

I was a little nervous to try this product as I have combination skin and sometimes find these moisturisers for older skin too heavy... but this definitely wasn't the case with this one! It has a lovely scent and is light and easy to apply, melting into my skin easily. My skin feels hydrated all day long with no oily patches on my T zone. It has SPF 20 which I wish was higher, but happy it has some protection. My skin tone has definitely improved and evened out... dark patches lightening and red broken capillaries less visible which is incredible after only a couple of weeks! I haven't really noticed any reduction in my wrinkles, but as mentioned earlier, I have not used this product for very long and am hoping this will happen over time. Overall, I would definitely recommend this moisturiser.

Lovely creamy moisturiser.

I’m pleased to have been able to trial this product, and have faithfully applied it every morning and, because it feels rich enough to me, most nights as well It is pleasant to apply, massaging it gently into my skin and has a light, pleasant fragrance. I have some definite wrinkles and lines around my upper lip (some laughter lines too, but they don’t bother me) and I’d like to find something that might help make them less obvious and slow down their progress. This feels creamy enough without leaving any hint of greasiness afterwards. The lines are still there, but I feel my skin has a nicer texture since using this and so the lines are less obvious to me.

Tips: I’m easily tempted to over apply a cream. This definitely feels like it needs a reasonably generous amount to really feel like it is there - a small amount doesn’t go far and my skin feels ‘thirsty’ for more uses I use enough. That said the jar is still going strong after a couple of weeks, so it’s hitting that sweet spot for me.

A great daily moisturiser

I've always rated the L'oreal moisturisers and so was excited to see this new one drop into the fam. Especially formulated for mature skin 45+ (I'm 49) I liked the hydration that this cream gave. Now, it wasn't a heavy cream - it's not rich rich rich - but it is lightweight and gives you moisture for the day. I'm still testing to see it's wrinkle diminishing capability because mine have taken years to get there and may need a bit more time to soften, however it is a lovely day cream and feels nourishing (but not heavy) on the skin. Sometimes I find fragrance to be a bit off putting, but I was pleasantly surprised by the very light and fresh scent that this has. It made it a lovely sensory experience to apply, but then dissipated so it didn't hang around - which I liked. The SPF was 20 and for me I need a higher one in this Kiwi environment, but it did give me extra reassurance of a base cover before I added my separate SPF to it. The packaging is luxe in heavy glass so feels and looks like something you'd keep on the bathroom bench. All in all a lovely daily moisturiser!

Tips: I've really found layering to be working for me lately. After you first apply, go back in to apply in areas that are especially dry for an additional boost of moisture without the heaviness.

L'Oreal Paris Wrinkle Expert 45+ SPF 20

The strong scent was the first thing I noticed when I opened the jar. It's not a scent I'm averse to, nor is it something I like, just strong, so I was a little worried that I might get headache from it (happened with other creams in the past). Happy to say the scent seemed to die down after a while and my skin didn't react to it. It doesn't cause acne or cystic pimples either, which is good!

I love the consistency, it's somewhere between cream and lotion. I find I have to wait for it to settle first before applying my usual foundation and powder, otherwise I end up with a face full of powder dots. I think the sunscreen property makes it goes balling. I found tiny bits of white things whenever I tried to use my face massager to spread it around. So this cream is definitely something that's meant to be applied by fingers and doesn't work well as a primer.

I haven't noticed any reduced appearance of fine wrinkle nor reduction of age spot yet. I do notice that the new pigmentation caused by hormonal acne seemed to fade quicker than usual - not sure if it's because of this cream or because of the vit. C serum I've been using. Could be a combo of both!

I think the cream is more suitable for someone with dry rather than combo skin. It somehow accentuates the size of my pores.

I personally find a pump packaging would have been easier to use rather than a glass jar, lesser chance of contaminating the content, and easier to judge how much to use.

I'm already using half of the 50ml jar in the 3 weeks I've been using it, for my face and neck. I guess purchasing one every 2 months is good value considering it has already contained sunscreen.

I would keep on using the whole jar, but won't be repurchasing as I need morning cream that could settle quickly under my foundation.

Tips: Might not be suitable for people who dislike strong scent.

A good basic moisturizer

This moisturizer is what I consider a good basic moisturizer, but isn't one I would rave about. The container is a standard twist off the lid pot which makes it messy and unhygienic compared to some of the other great bottles that other brands do. It is a good thick cream that glides on easily and is not greasy or oily. My skin feels soft and nourished after using it. I love the fact that it has an SPF factor, but it is nowhere near high enough for me, so I still have to use a sunblock with it. The fragrance is soft and not overpowering, which is also nice. I am about to turn 50 so have started getting age spots and fine lines, but I did not notice any real improvement from using this cream. I would use this cream again if I couldn't buy a better one. It's a nice cream, but it didn't do what it said it would.

L'Oreal Paris Wrinkle Expert 45+ SPF 20

First time trying a dedicated 45+ product, and having used L'Oreal products on and off over the past 20 years, I was looking forward to giving this a go. Very pleased to see it contains an SPF20, along with Pro Retinol A and Peptides to which help stimulate the skins regeneration process, as I'm currently using another Retinol product. The packaging is very typical L'Oreal, with the box outlining proven results in 4 weeks of 82% of women with smoother skin, 30% age spot visibilty reduction, and 76% more with radiant skin.

The glass pottle with wide top is good to access the product inside. The cream itself is light, not thick, with a slight colour, and fragrance that isn't strong or overwhelming, such a familar scent for L'Oreal moisturisers. It goes on very easily. I usually use a richer cream moisturiser, so it took me a few days to get used to using a different amount of this lighter texture cream. Easily absorbed, and is not greasy at all. Skin felt hydrated and moisturised throughout the day.

My skin did react a little over 2 weeks, with small bumps on my forehead and cheeks, and my cheeks started to feel a little drier than normal, however I continued use. I haven't noticed any difference with reduced wrinkles or nourishment in this space of time which coincided with some drying, environment conditions of winter.

My tester for new products is to use on the back of one hand during a trial period, and in this case, the skin felt smooth and hydrated, without any noticeable change in sunspots or wrinkles.

Overall I think it's a nice, daily moisturiser which I will continue to use until it runs out, as that will be well into the 4 week period where results should start to become noticable. I would recommend to friends of a similar age with few skin concerns.

Tips: Pop on backs of hands for when driving, to keep your skin hydrated, and protected from UV rays.

Not bad for a budget conscious product

I have dry, sensitive skin so prefer a thick creamy moisturiser which is what this is. The fragrance is light & pleasant and a little goes a long way. I also like that the jar isn’t plastic which is always nice with a product which retails for under $20. While I didn’t notice any difference in fine lines nor do I have age spots my skin definitely felt firmer and looked smoother. Unfortunately this was at the cost of not feeling moisturised. My skin felt tight and uncomfortable after applying the L’Oreal Paris Wrinkle Expert 45+ SPF 20. I ended up applying a serum first and then the moisturiser which made a huge difference. Is this product value for money? Yes & no. If your skin is normal/combination, I would say yes. If you have dry skin, it’s a no unless you also use a serum. Would I recommend it to a friend? It would depend on their skin type but I would probably recommend something different in the same price bracket. I am happy my skin didn’t flare up though so unless your skin is super reactive this should be a safe bet.

Tips: People with dry skin will benefit from using a serum in conjunction with this product.

Nothing special

Recently I have been loving in the L’Oreal products, and was expecting good things from this one too. Packaging is good and the cream is nice and thick. The odour is mild and cream absorbed well. It is good that it has an SPF of 20, however there are others that also include a SPF. I didn’t notice any difference to my skin or reduction of wrinkles - maybe I don’t have enough yet? Overall not impressed.
