Lush Mask of Magnaminty Deep cleansing, minty face and back pack. After an overnight flight, a marathon in a rabbit suit or a walk along the Marylebone Road during rush hour, do you feel a deep need to be scrubbed clean? Here’s a cleansing mask to do exactly that; China clay and bentonite gel will pull the dirt from your pores, ground aduki beans and evening primrose seeds exfoliate surface skin cells, and peppermint oil will make you feel so fresh and minty that you'll forget you were ever grubby.

Probably too harsh for facial use

This is a super minty, gritty, scrubby mask with a bright green colour.

It claims to draw dirt out of your pores but I didn't notice this effect. It was one heck of a scrub, though.

I think it would be better suited for body use as it contains a lot of mint, which can be irritating, and the exfoliating particles are too harsh for the face. It will hurt if you rub too much, so try to soften it as much as possible before removing. I also read on various skincare articles that this mask is not so good for the face for the reasons I stated.

I might buy it again to use on my body because it smells really amazing and uplifting, but never again on my face!

For a refreshing minty mask

After hearing/reading the amazing reviews on this product, i was actually shocked that this seemed to be a product that i had consistenctly walked past in Lush without a second thought. Well not anymore, i picked one of these up recently because the reviews made it impossible not too.

I wont bore you with the details about the packaging (okay maybe a little), but it comes in the same black screw top container that all lush masks comes in. Its also part of the recycling scheme where 5 containers get you a free face mask when returned to Lush stores, so that's a great benefit of recycling.

If you don't like Mint, close this browser and stop reading this review because this mask is just full of minty goodness. From the second you open this container, to the moment is applied to your face its just mint, mint and more mint. Don't get me wrong, its not over powering, and it doesn't make my eyes water. It just smells minty, and refreshing.

The colour of this mask is green, and i would describe it as a thick paste, with chunks of either primrose seeds, of the aduki beans spread throughout (not sure which one it is), but i find it provides a lovely texture to the mask, and provides a gentle exfoliation to my sensitive skin which i loved.

Because of the thick texture, i do find it a little tricky to spread the mask out in a nice thin layer, but its not impossible.

So does the mask do what it says? It definitly gives my skin a gentle exfoliation, and it makes me seem fresh and it smells oh-so-good. But it did struggle to remove the deep blackheads from my pores so it doesnt get a tick for that one (but then nothing ever really does).

Overall a decent mask for Lush, and one that is worth a try!

Minty face, and not the toothpaste kind.

I was doing a Lush order when I shouldn't have been, and as I can't get to a store to try anything I thought I would ask for a sample of this. It arrived a few days later and lo and behold they had sent me a full sized one! I couldn't believe how lucky I was, as it's super expensive, so whatever karma there is, they have it!

The mask comes in a black tub with a screw top lip. Mine is self preserving, but I had to ask the BR babes because I had no idea if it would still go bad or not! Apparently it won't so I can keep it for a bit longer than the date it says. I opened it and grinned gleefully.

The mask is a lovely grey/green color and it has bits in it. Not massive bits that fall off your face but bits all the same. It smells like mint and tea and it's quite nice. They say apply a generous layer so I have been lately, as I only have one face and I can't use up a whole tub by myself.

The mask is surprisingly cooling on the face, and it's really nice when you wash it off as the bits in the mask act as an exfoliating wash so it's really like a two in one! My face always feels so much cleaner and smoother. I haven't really noticed it clearing my blackheads or pimples (when I have them) but it is a really nice mask. It dries alright, but it still looks wet! It's quite a magical product.

I wouldn't purchase this myself, just because of the price tag and the fact I'm not sure it really cleans my skin out like it claims. I'm so grateful to Lush for sending it to me though.

Smells gorgeous and made my skin so smooth.

I am on my second pot of this product. Mask of Magnaminty is a bit costly (nearly 20 bucks per pot) but it smells so delicious, like a vanilla-ry, minty scent.

I notice when I wash it off my face is noticeably smoother, but it doesn't really reduce the redness of existing pimples or breakouts. However, the next day, I do notice that blackheads or whiteheads are "pulled" more to the surface, which I think is due to the bentonite gel. You can also use it for back acne, but I haven't tried it for my back, because I don't suffer from back breakouts.

I probably will not repurchase to find more effective products, but it may work for others.

Tips: 1. Be aware that there is a self-preserving and a non-self-preserving version. I believe the self-preserving version has parabens in it, whereas the non-self-preserving relies on just honey (which is not enough for anti-bacterial purposes, me thinks).

Also, the self-preserving version is noticeably more pasty and thick than the other version, which is slightly gloopy and runny. I much prefer the "fresh" version, only because it's easier to apply.

One of THE BEST masks!

I love Lush and would definitely get this face mask again. It depends on your skin type, however, if you are looking for a mask that gives you squeaky clean skin then this is the one for you! The only con is that we need to use these masks within the due date (3months) as they are hand made but otherwise these are the best masks.

Minty!

The mask comes in a thick rough consistency which I find easy to apply. I put on a thick layer wait for a good 30mins for it to harden/dry. A good tip is to do it before a shower because it gets messy. I genitally wash it off with a flannel as well. If you love a minty smell then this is for you! It does the job and cleared my skin. Would use it again.

Lush Minty, DeepCleansing Scrub/Mask of Magnaminty

I thought this was a good size tub for the price. I do really like Lush products so seeing as this masque lasts longer than the other fresh masks I decided to get it. I like that this masque is all natural. Also as this masque dries I can still move my face easily and comfortably even though my skin feels a bit firmer or tighter. It has mint in it which is cooling not my fave but my skin feels like it's getting a deep clean and the mint does smell refreshing. I have used this when my face was breaking out a bit and did help to calm the breakout the next day. This masque could double as a scrub as well. The main thing about this scrub that makes it not a fave with me is that it has big particles in it I don't know if it's the primrose seeds or aduki beans but the particles are a rougher than I like in scrub. Because of that I can only use this mask once a week because more often than that it's too strong my skin. I do also like to rinse off mud and clay masks instead of using a face towel to save on laundry and this mask isn't as easy to rinse off and leaves a bit of a mess around the sink, although it does come off much easier in shower. I think this mask does also make a nice body scrub if you want to shell out for the larger pot. This would be ideal for those that get acne on their back as a generous sized pot wouldn't be used up too quickly. I'm not sure if I would get it again just because the particles are a little bit bigger than I like in a scrub but other than that it’s a great product.

Tips: If you have breakouts on your body this is a good body mask. Also makes a nice body scrub. It takes about 10-15 minutes to set/dry although it doesn't dry completely. I like to wash my face before getting in the shower, pat my face dry and apply this and wait for it to dry before I have a shower as the warm water softens it and in the shower I can easily remove it and the mess is rinsed down the drain.

Minty madness

This is one of the products that started my Lush obsession. A few months back everyone on the forum was talking about lush and the bath bombs and well curiosity killed the cat.... No no it didn't it's killed my bank balance actually.

It comes in the lush trademark black tub and the actual mask smells minty but it also has a bit of an earthy smell with it. So I smother this mint mask all over my face and holy moly it has a huge cooling effect it is very refreshing. I don't store this in the fridge but I could imagine it would cool the face even more not that I think it needs it. I wait 20 minutes then wash it off it comes off easily in warm water and my face still feels a bit cool my skin looks tighter and fresher.

It says says that it's a face and back pack suited for spots. I had a bit of a breakout on my chin had me looking like dotty wot arrgh hormones!! So instantly thought.... Its moments like these you need minties (sorry I get carried away turning things into songs or TV ads) and applied it to my spots and it diminished the red angry spots and they weren't as inflamed and definitely helped clear them up faster. A great face mask for refreshing your face or banishing spots

MAGNificMINT!!

I was given a big sample of this by a lovely friend and after trying it, I loved it so much I bought a full size 125g pot for $18.50. The masks from Lush are my fave and this one is at the tippy top of my list! At first the look of it put me off a tad It looks like smooshed peas in a pot. But the minty smell it gives off it both refreshing and invigorating to the senses. This comes in the signature black pot with the simple but effective plain jane design. It includes all the important stuff you need to know like ingredients and purpose along with the name of the product. It has a screw top lid which keeps it fresher for longer.

The fact that it helps remove dirt from pores is what gets me excited the most! I have a problem area which gets black head around my nose so any product that will help keep my face dirt free and clean is a help to preventing these lil nasties! I use this mask once a week, usually on a Sunday when it's Shana time. I make sure I thoroughly cleanse my face before use to give it the best foundation to work with. I spread it on my face generously to get the maximum coverage. I avoid the eye area because I find the minty smell irritates my eyes and makes them weep. Going on it's so cooling and refreshing. I tend to keep mine in the fridge to make it that little bit more cooling. It takes your breath away a bit to apply it that cold in the winter but for my angry irritated skin it laps up the coolness and loves every second of it.

I leave this on for a good fifteen minutes. It doesn't dry out, it just stays fresh and cold. It's a bit of a sight to see, so much so that it scares my son hehe. After the fifteen minutes tick by I wash it off with a hot flannel. I rinse after each wipe so I am not spreading dirt around my face.

After I remove it, my skin has the most refreshed, soft, cleansed feeling I have ever experienced. It literally feels like I am washed clean of all impurities on my face! I have been using this now for nearing two months and my skin is now blackhead free yay! My skin feels is almost given a new kick of life after every application! It is so worth the money I assure you.

Tips: Keep it in the fridge. It will be a great treat for your skin in the summer!

Love it!

I was a little wary of this mask because I find so many masks I've tried make very little difference to my skin, but this wasn't the case with this mask! I keep this mask in the fridge and it feels super invigorating when I apply it to my face, especially because of the minty ingredients that cause quite a strong tingling across my face. I personally enjoy the feeling, but I can imagine that it might be a bit much for some people! I leave this mask on for 10-15 minutes or until it's dried and starts to crumble off. I remove with a hot wash cloth or rinse it off in the shower, because it is quite a thick consistency it can take a bit of effort to remove. This makes makes my skin feel so so clean, it really feels as if every spec of excess oil, dirt and product build up has been completely removed. I love this mask for when my skins just feeling a bit ugh. I feel that it brightens my complexion also. Not a bad word to say about this mask, it's one of my top 5 for sure!

Tips: Make sure to follow up with a nice hydrating moisturiser or serum , especially if you are using this mask regularly.
