Maybelline Lash Stiletto

I purchased Maybelline Stiletto mascara purely because it was the only one left in the shop in the shade I wanted, I needed to buy there and then as I had unknowingly come to the end of my current tube of mascara and I can’t go without for one day, ok I have others in black but I like brown for work days so I purchased this.

Surprisingly I found that not only did it give good coverage of my lashes from one stroke, but it also added a bit of oompf to them making them look quite full and long. The warm brown however was just a brownish black in colour once on my lashes so that was a little downer for it, but I did prefer it over my normal brand so I’ll probably stick to this one for now.

Lasting all day, being waterproof it never faded, nor smudged. I found that it didn’t crust or flake off during the day; neither did it irritate my eyes or clump up on application. When it came time at the end of the day to remove, I simply used a makeup remover cloth/wipe to take most of the mascara away, the remaining smears just rinsed away with a flannel and cleanser, no excesses rubbing required.

Packaging, the brown waterproof version of the stiletto mascara I have came in a red tube which starts at the base narrower then the lid so it kind of resembles a stiletto heel only in a rectangular shape, it is easier to hold I find then the regular cylindrical shaped tubes which makes application a lot more pleasant.

Good for day to day use for sure, visibly made lashes appear fuller, more dense and longer. The mascara consistency is fairly thick so their is a high potential to clump onto the eyelashes. Less is definitely more that's for sure!

It didn't do much in the way of adding extra curl to my lashes, I'm unfortunate as my lashes are naturally straight so this was dissapointing for me.

It lasted throughout the day in the sense my lashes were still dark, however it did appear quite flaky and was difficult to remove.

I love this mascara! I love the lift it gives the lashes, I use it with another mascara though to get that bit extra

This was one of my very first mascara's when I started getting into make up, it is a good starter off mascara, simple easy to use, the wand is easy to grab and to flick but not good for long term. It began to get clumpy And dry to quickly. I give it a 3/5. Only because it was a good product but it dried up way to quick.

I'm not sure if I just got a weird/old/dud tube of this, but the formula was super dry. Like it actually didn't feel like there was anything in there at all.

I wasn't expecting it to be volumising, as it says it's a lengthening mascara, but I expected that the length would make up for that. Nope. It barely made a difference to my lashes apart from making them a tiny bit blacker and longer. Not enough that I would usually feel comfortable going out of the house in. I like long, dramatic lashes :P

I tried building it up for quite a long time, but I didn't really get much more out of it.

Looked great when first applied - lashes looked big and black, but found they flaked pretty easily during the day, and after a night out, I looked more panda-eyed than usual.

I got received this as a part of a Makeup bundle I purchased. First thing I noticed is it is a little bit smelly when removing wand from container. The wand had a curve in it which follows the natural curves on lashes, it doesn't hold a lot of product on the wand and I also found the coverage wasn't that great but on the upside it didn't clump. It definitely did lengthen the lashes but if you are after a volumising mascara this wouldn't be it. All in all it is ok, I will use what is left as I hate wastage but I think there are far better mascara's on the market

I love this mascara It makes my lashes long and gorgeous. Its not volumizing but it doesn't claim to be, its just for making your lashes really long. It removes easily and cleanly. I have purchased it several times and will continue to do so.

I guess its called stiletto because it makes your lashes long and pointy. I don't mind this aspect however it also makes them shiny. I don't like plastic looking lashes so its not for me.

I was drawn to this because I liked the look of the brush - it was like any brush I had seen before.

The consistency was about the same as other mascara's I have used- it wasn't too thick or too thin and was really deep black, which I liked.

Application was difficult for me and a major reason I gave this mascara such a negative review. I found the brush super spikey and it actually kind of hurt to use in my lashes. It did an ok job of coating them but I found it so uncomfortable to use that I only used it maybe ten times before binning it.

I found the coverage pretty standard - it wasn't anything amazing but it wasn't bad. As said above I liked that it was super black so the pigmentation was really good.

For longevity, it did last all day on my lashes but tended to flake off and onto my under eye area.

Because I threw it out before it was used up, I can't say how long it lasts me and if it is economical. I think with most makeup products it also depends on how often you use it and how much you use.

For me it's really not worth the money just because I had to throw it out before it was used up.

I really did like the packaging - black and red are one of my fave colour combos and as I said above, the brush is what drew me to buy this.

Overall I wouldn't repurchase and nor would I recommend it to a friend. I have really long, thick lashes naturally and I found it uncomfortable to use. I would imagine that women with shorter lashes would find this the same way as I did and thus would not recommend it.
