Neutrogena Pore Refining Exfoliating Cleanser Review

I was a little apprehensive using this product as I have sensitive skin so usually don't use a cleanser. After using this I am a convert!

The product is an exfoliator so the texture of the cream is grainy, and you can really feel it working as it rubs away dead skin. It's very easy to apply, simply wet your face then rub on the product. I massaged it in for about 20secs then rinsed it off thoroughly. My skin felt immediately fresher and smoother. It did feel slightly drier than usual but if that bothers you it's easy to apply a little moisturiser afterwards.

I have now been using the product for a week and the pores on my nose and chin have been visibly reduced. Overall my skin looks clearer and feels great. I will be continuing to use this every evening.

To be completely honest, I was really skeptical about the 'Pore Redefining' part of this cleanser because I really doubt that any one product is able to do that to my very visible pores. But Neutrogena has done this right and I would definitely recommend for those looking for a drugstore cleanser that really delivers.

I have combination skin and before I received this product I was breaking out around the chin and edge of my mouth due to 'that time of the month'. Using this cleanser morning and night for a week so far and the results are fantastic! The breakouts have cleared and I can see signs of minimized pores and less black heads around my nose.

This cleanser comes in a easily dispensable large tube and it has a lot of product which is pretty good value for money. The texture of the cleanser is a lot more runnier than I had expected, so I tend to use more to work it evenly over my face. The exfoliating beads are very fine so it's not as harsh as chunkier beads which could potentially over-exfoliate and irritate your skin.

Due to the very fine beads in the cleanser I am happy to use it on a daily basis as it gives my skin a very thorough clean as well as leaving my skin feeling soft and I haven't noticed any tightness afterwards. However the scent of this product is slightly clinical but it's not overpowering enough for me to dislike this product. One thing I would warn you is that this product BURNS if it gets into your eyes, also this cleanser does not clean waterproof makeup properly (especially eye makeup).

Overall I really enjoy this product and it's result on my skin is very satisfactory. But I will reduce to using this product 3-4 times a week instead of everyday as I feel like it could potentially intensify the dryness of my skin. Also this product has the ingredient of Alpha-hydroxy which makes your skin prone to sun burn, so it's very important to wear a high SPF sun screen.

This product works!! I have noticed a slight reduction in pore size, however it has only been a week and I do have huge pores. I really liked the size of the bottle, value for money, the texture, and that it left my skin feeling really clean and did reduce pore size. Cons would be the slightly chemical smell and it did sting my eyes a wee bit. I will continue to us this product and will be purchasing the rest of the set

I was excited to try this product as I love exfoliating cleansers and if it can reduce my pores - even better! I use all my cleansing products in the shower and this was no exception! A great sized product that I immediately used in my morning shower. I have to say right off the bat - i was put off by the perfume of this product. It was not a pleasant smell for me. The product itself however was great to use and my skin certainly felt much cleaner and smooth. But i could not get past the smell of the product and so only used it for 4 days before I reverted back to my normal cleanser. I have passed this on to a friend whom loves the product - so all was not lost as you will now have a customer whom loves it!!

I have used this product for a week and my face is smoother, pores are less visible and my skin looks brighter. I really like this product because it is not to abrasive rather its a gentle exfoliator that leaves no redness to your skin after using it. Would highly recommend and will keep using it as part of my nightly routine.

With all Neutrogena products, I expect high things, and this didnt fail! To start with I must admit that Neutrogena is one of my "Go to Brands" one I can trust. I liked the packing , simple and clean. Easy to open, use and close in the shower and thats important because we dont want to be wasting product and struggling to close it. I found the product to have the "perfect" amount of micro beads in it, gave me a perfect clean and exfoliate without feeling like I had sand papered my face! I felt it really did the job is said it would. After the first use, my face felt smother and looked clearer, and it only got better!! I even went a few days without wearing a BB cream to work and thats a first! My face felt clean, smooth and looked visibly better, which is a huge thing when you are only a few weeks off 40!! Yes I felt this product dlieverd above and beyond its promises! LOVE IT!

You get a lot of product for you money! I like the texture of the product - not too gritty or harsh just perfect! My skin feels especially clean after using it and it dissolves makeup well. I was amazed I didn't break out after using it as I have very acne prone skin so I will continue to use it. However I haven't noticed a huge difference to the size of my pores. There may be a slight difference but definitely not noticable.

I was one of the lucky ones to try out this product. When I received it and tried it straight away, no messing about with me! My skin is acne prone (due to hormones) I have large pores and black heads. So was quite excited to try this product as neutrogena have a great reputation, I am a big fan of many of their products! The bottle is very large, so well worth your $16 for the amount of product. It's very plain in packaging, but that's how the company rolls. The instructions are easy to follow on the back, and lists all the ingredients. The consistency is a yellow cream with fine microbeads. You don't need a lot for the product to spread evenly. I have tried this product (as per instructions) in the morning before putting on make up (and of my own accord- using it after I have taken my makeup off at the end of the night - not every night). For the first few days all I noticed was that my skin was super shiney, and that would be in part to the alpha-hydroxy that they use in the product. After about 3-5 days I noticed some reduction in pores, but only on the ones that would not have bothered me much anyway (the ones that your makeup sinks into). I have yet to see any reduction in the larger pores, it may take more than a week though I feel. I also feel you may see some reduction in pores and pore size if you also purchase the toner for about the same price of $16. The Alpha-Hydroxy is extremely drying of skin and you will need a good moisturiser to use after using this product. I found my skin to be flaking (a problem I have not had in many years), to combat this I used my Olay Reginerist and an exfoliant to get rid of the dead skin, then used a mud mask to help re-hydrate my skin. Also, the alpha-hydroxy makes your skin prone to sunburn so always wear an SPF regardless of time of year or what you're planning on doing for the day. All in all, I will not be repurchasing this product once it's finished unless I see a dramatic change.

The product states that my pores can look up to half their size in just one week but its been about a week and I've noticed no change to the size of my pores. I think it may have to do with the size of the beads. They were small but gentle. This product made my face clean and removed makeup well but I'm not too sure about pore refining

Must say was a tad nervous to use this as I have used a few Neutrogena products in the past that my sensitive mature skin has reacted to but I needed have worried. I have been using for 6 days or should I say at night to remove all my makeup which it did a great job at, didn't feel there was any makeup left at all. I like that it has jojoba and willowbark and the exfoliating beads are tiny so doesn't rip my skin open, left my skin feeling soft, slightly tight feeling but not a feeling of tightness. I still gave my skin my normal once a week exfoliation but felt it wasn't really needed but in summer that could be another story. The scent is very fresh and subtle not overpowering and I liked how the packaging is simple. Very generous on the size for the price aswell. I have for the last 2 days used both morning and night just to see how my skin felt and really felt safe in doing so just wanted to see if the pores would reduce any quicker lol. Now I do have a few pores around my nose and forehead and felt that they had reduced slightly maybe just to the point my makeup sat slightly better and my pores weren't clogged and of course opened even more. Would I continue to purchase this product and use everynight yes indeed. It has put my regular enzyme cleanser to the back of the shelf for now
