Reviews
I must admit, over the years I have tried good & bad products from Neutrogena, but unfortunately this product was not for me. I have combination skin, dry in areas, normal in areas and oily in others... So it's pretty hard to find products for my skin that helps with all of these problems.
I purchased this product hoping to help with some of the slight skin problems I was having, very dull skin tone and redness with acne. But this was unfortunately one of the worst cleansers I have personally used.
It is very over-drying, it's like it strips the skin of all it's natural oils and leaves it tight, and overly dry begging for some moisture.
This may be best for someone with oily skin, then combination. But definitely won't be re-buying or recommending.
This was the first ever face wash I was introduced when I first started to grow up, And I remember that it would always dry out my skin & make it feel tight & itchy...Maybe because its oil free? I'm not sure but you deffinately need to moisturise your skin when using this, I find its quite harsh but it does dry out pimples too so if you have really oily skin I think this would be the way to go, But if not dont buy it.
It's taken me ages to get around to writing this review, because I honestly couldn't think of what to say apart from average, average, average.
There is nothing that stands out about this product to me at all. It says it helps acne but I saw no great changes. Sure it gave my skin a bit of a clean, which wasnt too heavy and didn't over dry it, but thats about it.
I could have forgiven this product for its sheer averageness if it had some other defining feature that I liked (or even disliked!) but frankly there are so many other cleanser options out there even within the same price range that would be better suited or do a better job.
Growing up I had terrible acne from the age of 11 to 18. I tried everything, and it wasnt until I was 16 I came across this product and have been using it ever since. With the combination of the face scrub this product is dynamite.
It cleared my skin and made my skin less oily. I continue to use this to this day. Its affordable, lasts ages and delivers results.
I had suffered huge break out in the last few months. I tried high end cleanser and natural cleanser but nothing help until i find this one. It doesnt clear my acnes but i found my skin is cleaner and has less break out. Yes my skin is soft and smooth like baby butt, also brightener. The downside is it dry my skin out badly. I have to use moisturizer straight away after wash otherwise my face cant move. It removes make up quite well. Overall i would still use it but less often.
I purchased this when my skin was breaking out really badly, I had seen the ads on TV, and thought maybe it'd be a great product to help clear my skin. It does have Salicylic acid but not enough to actually help clear acne.
This was an ok wash, it smelled refreshing and clean, it foamed really well, but sometimes it just left me feeling a little too clean, and would often dry me out. A tiny bit goes a long way, and you will definitely need a moisturiser after use.
Tips: Hydrating moisturiser is a must.
I tried this product and while it did clear up my skin of zits it was also very harsh on my sensitive skin and gave me a rash after about a week of using it every evening. If you have skin that can tolerate a harsher product it is effective at eliminating zits. Not recommended for anyone with sensitive skin or allergies to salicylic acid.
This was the first product I used that dried out my skin so badly that it actually made it flake around my nose/mouth/chin :( However, it was effective at controlling acne, and when I retried it a couple of months later (in summer rather than winter, using only once a day at most, and moisturising well afterwards), I didn't suffer from any irritation. The risks mean it's probably better for those with acne prone skin to use a gentler cleanser and target acne with leave on applications instead.
Tips: Patch test thoroughly! And always moisturise well after use.
After Having my Second baby i completely broke out in acne. It was horrible, so I purchased this product from the supermarket. it was ok for the first day or two days, although I wasn't seeing any change in my skin. after about the forth day of using my skin became very dry, flaky and incredibly itchy (which is that last thing you want on your face) you get a lot of product so It would last a while, but i wont be using this again.
