Feels and Smells Yummy!

I absolutely adore this product!

I was first introduced to it by a friend who went from quite acne prone skin to beautiful clear skin and in amazement I demanded her secret! She said that it was this cleanser that really helped with her problem areas.

Although its on the higher end price wise for a standard cleanser, you get quite a large amount in the Lush black containers, and knowing its hand made and Eco friendly helps.

I tried it out immediately and gosh it smells yummy! Lots if people say its like popcorn but personally I think it's more caramel sweet cookie-dough ish. It's just divine! I've found it works best if I wash my face with warm water, then scoop out only a tiny amount (20 cent piece size is enough) and then rub it into a paste with the warm water still on my hands.

It leaves my skin exfoliated but not dry like other exfoliants and surprisingly soft and hydrated. As somebody with both combination and sensitive skin I had no problems with reaction or my skin getting oily or dry or problematic!

The only this is because it is a scrub and definitely gritty I found it was kinder on my skin to only use it a couple times a week rather than as my daily cleanser, but that's just my personal preference.

All in all it's probably my top Lush product and will continue using the beauty as long as they make it!

Tips: Be careful not to let water into the container as it can effect the product.

Popping !!

Wow !! This product for me is a winner. Not only does it smell like caramel popcorn it leaves my skin feeling softer then a baby's bottom. The product has a dough like constancy until it comes in contact with water, then it starts to break up and look like mud in your fingers. I gently smooth it accross my faces and tackle my problem areas as it has a gentle exfoliant from the maize flower ingredient, this would be great for people who suffer from congestion and blocked pores. I love this product and will keep it in my beauty routine !

Tips: Rinse face first. Use damp hands to wet the product instead of running it under the tap then more you save all your product :)

Smells like popcorn

I am a lush addict. I am always trying their products. This one in particular was a limited edition product but then they made it a permanent product. The texture is like playdough. You only need a pea size amount as you put water onto it and turn it into a paste. The smell is amazing. There is little popcorn bits and it has a small exfoliant in it to scrub away those dead skin cells. It's great for me because I have sensitive skin. This is a great scrub for all skin types

Good enough to eat!

On a recent Lush escapade I was given a very knowledgable skin consultation where I was recommended Let The Good Times Roll as a cleanser. I was told that this cleanser was special in that it would help deliver moisture into my oliy, acne-prone skin, helping stopping it from over-producing oil.

First impressions of the product? The yellow-coloured, grainy formula was almost like a soft scrub in consistencylike the polenta it is made up of. It reminded me a lot like an oaty cookie dough, and smelled like it too. Sweetly scented, in fact it smelled so good that I may have licked my lips when washing it off and it really is good enough to eat!

To apply I grab a small amount of scrub and mix it with water in my palm to make a smooth paste. I massage it into my skin and the granular texture makes a nice exfolliant which is gentle enough not to irritate my skin. After washing off my skin feels so soft and smooth, and like I was informed it actually felt like very nourished, not tight or dry like most cleansers leave it. The cleanser itself does give some moisture back into the skin so I think would be suitable not only for oily skin types but those with combo and normal as well.

I have been incredibly impressed with this product as I really expected it to break my skin out given it's lack of chemicals designed to fight acne, instead it's worked really well and left my skin looking great. I prefer to use this more as a scrub than a twice-a-day cleanser because despite how gentle it is it's still exfolliating. The only downside of this cleanser is I found the formula a bit more time-consuming to use and a bit messier than the standard cleanser, but this is only a small downside to a very great product.

Tips: This reminds me a lot of Oasis' Tropical Smoothie which I also have as I found you can also leave it on like a fresh face mask, and then exfolliate and cleanse as you wash it off.

gentle enough to polish and buff skin all over

This is one of Lush’s cleanser products, and this was recommended to me by a friend. I had low hopes for this, and was personally more interested in Lush’s range of masks, rather than there cleansers which to me, just did not interest me at all! However, my friend actually gave me a super generous sample of this cleanser to try so I really had no excuse not to. And spoiler alert, as soon as in finished the sample she gave me, I practically rushed into Lush to buy the full size version.

Like most of Lush’s products, this one also comes in the small black container, and has a really good seal on it, so im more than happy to leave this in the shower without fear water will seep in a ruin my $20 cleanser (and trust me, I would be less than impressed if that happened.

First impressions? Well when I open the container, I can see the colour of this scrub is a golden yellow, and I smell this slightly sweet oat scent, which reminds me of porridge, or a crumble of some sort. The texture is the same as all their other cleansers and it is a crumbly solid, which I would compare to an short crust pastry in texture. The texture however also has fine granules in there, which I think is the polenta which is ever so slightly abrasive.

The way I use this cleanser is a get a small amount (maybe the size of half a 10c coin, and I add a tiny bit of water to make a paste. Let me just mention that when I’m using this product the smell is amazing, better than it smells in the container because its actually going on your face and it smells so nice. I’m not great at describing scents but its got an oaty scent, with a toffee undertone, but its not sickly sweet at all, it just has this perfect mild sweetness. I apply this to my face (with my hands) in upward circular motions. Because of the fine polenta in this product, this cleanser can also be a really gentle scrub and exfoliator as well as cleansing my face so a dual purpose product. Sometimes if im using this in the shower (which is my preference because it can be slightly messy), I will let the cleanser sit of my face like a mask for a few minutes well I’m doing other things.

When I wash this cleanser off my face, my skin literally feels like butter. It is clean, but not squeaky clean, and it’s so soft and silky smooth. I normally use this as a night time cleanser, and the next day, my skin just looks amazing and radiant. But I don’t use this every day because of the exfoliating aspect of the cleanser, but use it perhaps 3 times a week instead. I haven’t used this on my body because I think it’s too expensive for a body cleanser, but by the feeling of it, I’m sure it would be a lovely gently cleanser for your skin if you could afford it use it this way. This (along with the Lush’s dark angel’s cleanser) have quickly become one of my top cleansers. I recommend this to everyone, because it seems as well as making awesome bath bombs and bubble bars, lush makes some amazing cleansers too.

Tips: As this product is $18.9 for a container, I recommend you going to your local lush store and asking for a sample of this to try before you buy. The samples they provide as usually very generous and will give you a chance to fall in love with the product before spending the money! Sounds like a win win to me.

Movies and porridge, anyone?

Honestly, it feels like I've walked into a movie theatre but woken up in a bowl of porridge. Strange I know but I love it. Its the smell that sold me if you cant already tell - popcorn and cinnamon oats. As if you could have guessed - yes this is a great exfoliate. It promises to scrub and soften with its granting oats and maize flour yet stimulates with its cinnamon powder. Its not a daily cleanser as I don't want to exfoliate too often but for when my skin looks tired and cluttered from the days makeup and events I know a can rely on this little guy. The afterglow is amazing, my face feels silky soft and all make up is removed. I would happily purchased this again as a fave exfoliate, that is if Lush doesn't put out anything better. Side note; watch out for random appearing corn kennels … their in there somewhere!

Lovely [or, "I'm so good at review titles"]

When I was at Lush a while ago the lovely salesgirl gave me some very generous samples to try out at home. While I enjoyed all of them, this was definitely the standout product for me, and one that went immediately on to my purchase list.

First off, it has the most amazing, warm, caramelly scent. I can definitely see where the popcorn scent description comes in, but I think it’s more like a caramel/sweet popcorn scent than a salty one. (It has the same scent as the Popcorn lip scrub, if you’ve tried that). It’s a soft yellow colour, and solid, like Angels on Bare Skin, etc. It has a fine but gritty texture, mostly owing to the maize flour (corn flour) and polenta, which makes it a really gentle exfoliant. I don’t mind using it every morning, because it’s not harsh, and doesn’t over-strip my skin.

To use it, I pinch off a pea-sized amount and add a tiny amount of water (literally a few drops) to mix it to a paste. Then I gently rub it over my damp face, and rinse it away. I prefer to use it in the shower, since it is a bit more messy than a standard cleanser, and so sometimes I leave it on my face while I wash my hair, etc, and then rinse it off at the end.

It leaves my combination/dry skin so soft, and doesn’t strip or dry it out like heaps of other cleansers (including Angels on Bare Skin, the Lush favourite). I feel like I haven’t had many breakouts at all since I started using this, and my skin has been looking great.

The only con is that it can be a bit tricky to use because of the pot packaging. The screw-top lid can be a bit hard to navigate in the shower without getting water into the pot (which isn’t good for the remaining product), and it’s a bit bulky to store. However, since Lush packaging is completely recyclable and environmentally friendly, it’s a very small inconvenience that I can easily look past given how lovely the product is inside.

Overall, this is my favourite of all the Lush products I’ve ever used. It’s probably not hard to tell given my rating, but this is definitely a repurchase for me!

Tips: Don't add too much water - it literally only needs the tiniest bit to make it into a spreadable paste consistency.

Thank you! :) It seriously is great, you should definitely give it a go! Ask for a sample pot - mine lasted for a couple of weeks, so long enough to decide whether it worked for me or not. x
