Firstly, the packaging of this product is fantastic. It give a nice easy to use product. The cleanser doesnt come out all clumped. It comes out in a nice smooth texture and you can pump as much as you want out, but i wouldnt recommend going over board. You only need to use a little pump as it spreads onto your face quite easily. Its smooth silky texture feels good against your skin and the smell is quite refreshing and natural smelling. Easy to apply and easy to wash off. Makes your face feeling fresh and cleansed.

Tips: rinse face with luke warm water, apply cleanser then rinse off
Really liked the simple packaging, has a well working pump. Decent amount of product for a good price.
Colour of the cleanser is a bit strange, an odd beige colour but this didn't bother me.
The cleanser it's self does the job, removes makeup well. It didn't leave my skin feeling amazing but not terrible either.
First impression was good, I loved the design on the side of the box, in a green/orange marine gradient. The packaging of the pump bottle was nice and easy to use, dispensing the right amount. The cleanser itself is the same creamy beige colour as the bottle. It has an organic natural smell, which while not unpleasant, wasn't pleasant either. I patched tested a few hours before to just ensure no issue. The cream was more like a lotion, and on the skin it almost takes the appearance of a silky foam cleanser without the foam, as opposed to a true cream cleanser. My skin felt clean after, and it removed my BB Cream and light make up well, however I had to use a bit to remove my lipstick. Washed off fine, skin felt nice.
Tips: Heavy make up may need a double wash.
I found this cleanser to be gentle as advertised but I did not find it would remove all my foundation. I usually use a scrub cleanser which is probably where the big difference is. The smell is refreshing and I like the bottle with the pump for an easy application. I won’t be buying this product unfortunately although I’m sure for someone who doesn’t wear a lot of make up it would do a good job.
Tips: Use in the shower which a loofah for bear removal of make up.
Good gentle basic cleanser. Would reccomend to someone starting out on skincare. Removes makeup well. Unfortunately I started reacting to it after a week of use. I love Ecostores ethics and use a lot of their products so wish I could have kept going with it!
The packaging is great, such a lovely green tone. Indicated for Normal to Dry skin.
Packaging indicates recyclable, product is cruelty friendly and 6 month shelf life after opening = ticks on all 3 from me. The 140ml is generous and feel it would easily last 6 months.
Bottle self dispenses with a push down nozzle, this is appreciated and dispenses just the right amount. Dispenser also unscrews so all the contents can be utilized. Dispenser can be locked and has a removal lid, makes this product ideal for taking out of the house.
Ingredients list is impressive. Includes: Blackcurrant Oil, Avocado Oil, Omega Oils and Calendula. I always hone into anything with Calendula and also respond really well to blackcurrant (in another range of skin care I have). With so many “Oil” ingredients I expected it to be much more moisturizing. It’s also for Normal to Dry skin so again felt a bit more moisterization would have been expected. After using my skin felt over cleaned, a little tighter, only a little. It cleaned great, makeup came off really well. Just feels a little commercial big brand and not quite right for me.
The smell wasn’t unpleasant but did find it a bit odd, Marine Bioactive maybe or even an omission of lots of fragrance could be reason? Tell us on packaging if it is.
Texture is great, easily massaged in – I did use a little water on fingertips.
Ecostore is a great NZ brand that I truly trust when it comes to house hold products and feel the skin cleanser is OK, not bad but not super lush. Does fit in with their brand good. It’s a great go to supermarket brand that is competitively priced.
Not suitable (IMO) for very sensitive or dry skin when over 40. That’s a bold statement however products like this that I used in my 20’s & 30’s were more than adequate and now in my 40’s feel facial skin much more tetchy and not as responsive and robust as it used to be.
Proud product to send overseas if looking for a NZ product made in NZ. Any products I send to relatives overseas are always NZ made.
Tips: Looking for packaging that can be taken out of home, this is great for that.
I was very excited to try this cleanser as I wasn't a regular user of ecostore products, I was curious as I had heard great things about the brand. The packaging was nice and simple and I liked the pump on the bottle, the fact that it has a cap is great for traveling as it won't squirt everywhere. The first thing I noticed was the smell, I felt it was too strong and almost put me off using it. Once I got past the smell I felt the colour was odd, kind of a weird brown colour. Once I got past those issues the cleanser itself was nice, it didn't lather up too much but I felt that it left my skin clean and was not overly dry afterwards. If it didn't have the overpowering smell I would definitely use it again but the smell was just a bit much for me. Otherwise it does exactly what it says and me having sensitive skin I felt it was great for cleansing.
Tips: Used with both the moisturiser and night cream it felt great on my skin.
