CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser

I decided to try this cleanser every morning for a week and noticed a big difference after the first use. I have been struggling with eczema/bumpy pimples around my nose and chin area due to wearing a CPAP mask and having dry skin. After the first application, I felt no bumps, and my skin was so smooth. In the shower, I decided to try it on my body (chest and back area where it's bumpy). I left the cleanser on for a minute to absorb into my skin and washed it off. I felt clean, fresh and soft, with smooth skin. It's very gentle and has reduced my redness and bumps significantly.

I love that this cleanser is fragrance-free and affordable. I use retinol at night, and I didn't want to use the cleanser in the evenings as combining SA and retinol is too harsh for the skin (Cerave oil foaming cleanser is my go-to night cleanser). I use it in my morning routine, and my skin has never looked so clear and glowy!

I was very excited to try this product! It wasn't until I read the description for this trial that I found out what those little bumps on back of my legs and arms were. I just thought it was because the hair is so fine they mini ingrown hairs. I would exfoliate these but that would make the raw and hurt.

The bottle design is sleek. Easy to use pump. Only thing about product is I wish it was a little thicker consistency as it was easy to waste product because it would run everywhere. I also would of liked more instructions on the bottle. Because the trial said about bumps on back of legs etc I wasn't sure if I was to use the cleanser there too as the bottle didn't specify face only like all my other cleansers I have.

The first time I used the product on my face I left it on to long I think before rinsing cause when I got out my face was red. It didn't hurt just noticed the colour.

After the 1st use even you could feel the difference in the skins texture. It was a lot smaller. I also had 3 stubborn spots from wearing a mask that have been there for weeks and they were gone after 2 uses.

I did try this product on the back of my arms and legs also to see what it would do for the little bumps. Within 3days the bumps on back of my arms had gone. I am still using on my legs but these bumps were a lot worse so slowly seeing a difference.

I would definitely use this product again. Just wish it had clearer instructions on the bottle. Highly recommended trying!

Great cleanser! I really liked this product, it had a nice gel consistency and no obvious fragrance.

I felt it would be economical to use as a small pump of it went quite far. I used this with my FOREO to help with the bumpy skin I have around my jaw and neck.

I’ve seen and felt a big improvement in the texture of my skin and I think with continued use it will be even better.

The pump bottles work well to keep in the shower, and using in the shower with the steam helps to open pores and really get the product into your skin.

My skin felt great after using, and didn’t feel tight or dry - very gentle and effective cleanser. Because of the ingredients, it also works well on acne prone skin and helped to clear up some small breakouts on my cheeks.

As my other review, Cerave packaging is very basic and not as pretty as some other brands I typically go for, but I feel it appeals to a broad age range.

Overall, I would purchase again - good value for money and appears to have made big improvements on my skin texture.

This product is light and pleasant when lathered onto the skin. Being frangrance free is great as I find perfumes can react or just be too strong on my skin. There is a tingling reaction on my skin (in a good way), particularly around the T-zone (cheek/ nose). On drying my skin does feel smoother and refreshed. After a week I don't see a visible difference in appearance yet, but skin feels great after using the product. I did use in conjunction with the CeraVe SA Smoothing Cream, so difficult to say whether this product alone was effective, or the combination of the Cleanser and Cream.

On receiving this product for trial was impressed by the size. Larger than usual cleanser sizes and with a pump dispenser which I love. Consistency of product was fluid like and with no high fragrance. Applied to damp skin it had a foaming like affect. I usual use cream cleansers so this was a different feel for me. It cleased my face well and my skin was left feeling fresh and clean and smooth. Was great when showering on problem body areas and reduced the feel of rough dry skin.

Both my teenage daughter and I loved this cleanser. I’m usually just a micellar and reusable wipes gal, and so is she, but this is great for an extra clean, lux feel. We both have eczema and although mine has been better as I’ve gotten older, I still get dry, rough patches on my face and on my hands in particular. This cleanser did not irritate our sensitive, dry skin, especially my daughter as she gets some eczema around her eyes at times and it was gentle for her. It gave a good clean and fresh feel and was great at removing make up too, although I will probably continue to use micellar first especially for my eye makeup and then this as a second clean, which we should do anyway! Our skin felt very soft after using and it has a rich foam which feels luxurious, and quite different to a lot of sensitive cleansers or cleansers for eczema prone skin that don’t lather much. Overall it’s a great product that does what it says it does, improving rough areas through exfoliating salicylic acid, and niacinamide, which I also found great for the odd hormonal spot we both get at that time of the month. It also contains hyaluronic acid and ceramides which make the skin feel so soft and smooth and moisturised, not stripped away like a harsh cleanser, and I’ve noticed the small bumps I get on my face have improved. I’m keen to see what more it does over time. It is fragrance free and doesn’t smell bad like some products can and it doesn’t sting or hurt on broken skin. I recommend this for anyone with sensitive skin, eczema, rough or bumpy patches and it’s great used in combination with the Cerave smoothing cream. Probably great for combination skin as it is moisturising while also healing. I’m buying more Cerave products now!

This product has really changed my life. I have suffered with red bumps my entire life. I've tried creams and exfoliation but it seems to just irritate. This cleanser I have used for around 2 weeks and it has really reduced the look and feel of these bumps dramatically. I really enjoyed the smell as it was a light fragrance. It wasn't tingly or stingy at all which I was concerned about. The bottle is an easy pump bottle and comes out really well. The subtle colours of the bottle were lovely and not too bright in my bathroom. My partner noticed a massive difference in the appearance and feel of my arms. I also discovered that using the cream and cleanser together made a huge difference. Used in conjunction with each other these really work. This product is honestly worth the hype and I fully recommend.
