Pore Refining Exfoliating Cleanser helps you visibly reduce the look of pores just by washing your face. In fact, it does so effective pores can look up to half their size in just one week!

This dermatologist-tested alpha and beta formula works in two ways to deliver results. First, exfoliating micro beads gently sweep away dead surface skin and smoothes over rough, uneven patches. Then, the alpha-hydroxy formula penetrates deep into pores to remove dirt, oil and makeup that can clog and enlarge pores.

Skin is instantly smoother and more even toned, and pores appear smaller and less visible.

  • Non-comedogenic (won't clog pores)
  • Soap-free
  • Dermatologist tested
  • Clean-rinsing

Pore refining

I liked using this product, and made it the last thing I used in the shower before I got out. It put back a lot of moisture my soap took away. I liked that it doesn't have an overpowering scent, and felt it was quite easy for my sensitive skin. I don't know whether it actually reduced my pores (should have done a before and after), but it certainly makes my skin feel cleaner and more moisturised. My fiancé has even tried it a few times, so its a goodie!

Does what it says

I normally use a creamy all in one cleanser as I find many others make my skin feel tight. Neutrogena Pore Exfoliating cleanser was really good, it did what it said it would do. The gentle exfoliating combined with a gentle cleanser left my skin feeling soft and still supple and natural. After 5 days using the product I think my skin looks smoother and more refined with less visible pores. The only thing I didn't like about it was when I accidentally got some in my eyes (from the cloth I was using), and it really stung. I was careful every time not to put the product near my eyes but even after rinsing the cloth it still irritated them

Tips: Best piece of advice I can give is to rinse off by splashing water on your face and then use a separate cloth to wipe your eyes.

Pore refining...but not skin perfecting (for me)

I had a dilemma with this product. I love the scent, the fact that it doesn't lather a lot (so therefore seems to be less soapy/drying) and the superfine, softer exfoliating beads that don't feel like they are 'scrubbing' as much as polishing your skin. I feel that (if it works for you) it's fantastic value as you get a huge bottle for your money, and perhaps people with calmer skin than mine would love it.

So where was the dilemma? What didn't I like? My face doesn't feel clean. My pores seem (after 5 days use) to be a bit smaller, but my skin seems oilier and I have had a couple of jaw/cheek/nose breakouts, which I usually only get when I'm being lazy with skincare (or super stressed, which isn't possible when I've been on holiday for the last two weeks!).

So a neutral review. I can see this being a great product. I can see it working for people. It just doesn't seem to like my oilier, slightly fussy skin too much and as such, it's not for me.

Lovely Results, but Smells Like Bubble Solution

Apart from the scent, everything about this is really lovely. The exfoliating beads are small and gentle, but effective. It leaves skin feeling really soft and smooth- non drying nor that feeling of tightness. And it does seem to reduce pore size- pretty awesome considering that I haven't been using this cleanser for more than a week! The scent however will be a big deterrent for me to repurchase. It doesn't smell bad per se, more chemically than anything. The closest scent I can compare it to is that sort of cheap $2, kids' (blowing) bubble solution.

Tips: Caution: Viciously stingy if you get it in your eyes. Also, if you accidentally snort some suds- you'll get a horrendously sore nose followed by disgusting drips at the back of your throat. With that said, I'm sure most of you are capable of washing your face without needing adult supervision- as I apparently do.

You get your money's worth

I was lucky enough to be picked for the trial team on this product.

While I'm hesitant about products that say it'll 'reduce' anything - whether that be fine lines or pores and everything in between, I was genuinely surprised.

When I received the package, I was very, very surprised at the size of the bottle. It's huge! And good value for money for $16.

I used it that first night, after I'd removed my makeup. The texture is creamy and the exfoliating beads are superfine. So there was no irritation whatsoever unlike other exfoliants I've used where the grains are so chunky they literally scratch your skin.

Because there's no soap, it doesn't foam like other cleansers and exfoliants. So you may need to use a little more product to get around your face. There's also hardly any smell which is great. I find products that have a strong scent probably have a lot of perfume, which means a lot of alcohol, which means drying up your skin. And my skin is dry enough as it is!

Now, my head is ginormous (not kidding - it's actually huge) so I used product about the size of a 50c piece, which was plenty.

After washing it off, my skin felt baby smooth, even the next day it felt great.

I didn't notice any effects straight away. I used it every second or third day - as advised on the bottle. I only ever used it at night, as part of a consistent routine. And after about 8 days, I've noticed that my pores have actually reduced in size.

Not a huge reduction, but to me, it was noticeable. I had enlarged pores around my nose, and the area that they cover has noticeably reduced so it doesn't go an inch sideways anymore. I'd say it's reduce about 1/4" in size.

I doubt this would completely reduce them altogether, but for a product that's easily affordable and readily available, I'd recommend giving this a go.

The things I like about it: The size of the bottle | the price | the smell | the fine grain exfoliating beads | no soap | the feel of my skin after | it actually works - to a degree.

Tips: Don't get it in your eyes. It might not have soap, but it still stings!

Nice!

I have enjoyed using this product. Usually when I try a new product I end up with a breakout (thanks T zone) but with this, nada! It smells nice, doesn't over dry, the microbeads are not too scratchy and it is easy to rinse. I start my days feeling fresh, with glowing skin and end my days like that too.

The tube is an excellent size and the RRP is fantastic, easily affordable. Being able to buy a product at the supermarket is always a bonus.

Neutrogena Pore Refining Exfoliating Cleanser

I was very excited to get this product to review and very happy to see that it was a very generous size. I decided to use this in the shower as part of my morning routine - the microbeads felt barely there but could feel them gently doing their work. My skin didn't feel overly refreshed just gently cleaned The scent was mild and not offensive. I used this daily as intructed and am extremely pleased with the results so far, my skin is definately smoother and I am starting to see a definate improvement in the size of the pores on my face. I will definately continue using this cleanser as it is awesome value for money and it does do what it says it will do. I wouldn't say that the changes are instant and dramatic but I can definately see that changes are happening and with longterm use my pores will be nice and tight.

SInce this trial have been using this product and still happy with the results - definate improvemnt in the size of my pores

Tips: Keep away from your eyes

Holy Grail product

This cleanser is amazing. I was firstly very impressed with the size of it, it's huge for its $15.99 price tag. It doesn't smell much and has a creamy texture. There are tiny micro beads in it which I felt were very gentle on my skin and not at all scratchy . It says on the back that it is gentle enough to use everyday which is great for a cleanser that has exfoliating properties too. I used it in the shower and when I put my make up on I thought that my skin looked REALLY good, and I mean really good. It had a glow and a radiance that I have been missing for some time. I used it again the next day and lo and behold, radiant skin. Amazing. I have got lots of comments about how well I look lately and the only thing that is different is this product. I am definitely sold on this and I will not be without it. I checked out the back of the tube for any extra important info and I am glad I did because it clearly states that if you use this product you need to wear a sunscreen as your skin may burn more easily. I thought that this was an excellent message for the user. It doesn't lather too much on your skin but it certainly does what it says it will do. I honestly think the last time my skin looked this good was when I had that glow that only comes with pregnancy. I am not joking, I think that this is a brilliant product which I will adding to my skincare arsenal. Thank you beauty review for giving me a product that makes me feel like a million bucks.

Tips: Yo u must must must wear sunscreen with this product, a good habit to get into anyway but there us a warning on the back about sun protection.

Slightly surprising.

The Neutrogena pore refining exfoliating cleanser certainly did surprise me. The first surprise was the size. When it arrived on my doorstep I noticed that it was a much more generous size than my previous cleansers. This makes it great value for money. The second surprise was the similarity between the exfoliating properties in the Neutrogena cleanser and my Clarins One Step exfoliating cleanser ($59). With a drastic price difference, that is a pretty awesome aspect for a drug store cleanser to pull off. I typically use my Clarins One Step 3 times a week as an exfoliator so the Neutrogena cleanser is a little too harsh for twice daily use. For a St Ives Apricot scrub lover, this would be a gentle option. My final surprise was when I used it in place of my Clarins foaming cleanser in conjunction with my Olay Regenerist. The cleanser was immediately flicked into my eye, and oh my, it hurt. I haven't encountered this with my foaming cleanser. It is great to grab in the shower, but I won't be using it at night as it just doesn't work with the regenerist.

The Neutrogena pore refining exfoliating cleanser has an easy to open cap and typical Neutrogena soap smell. It's not fresh, but not unpleasant.

And lastly, the pore refining claim. I haven't noticed any reduction in the size of my pores BUT my pores are not overly large, they were already clear and exfoliated prior to using this cleanser, and I have only been using it for a week.

I have come to the conclusion that this isn't my match made in heaven, perfect cleanser. However I will continue to use it in the mornings, every second or third day. I see it as a cheap alternative that doesn't break me out and gently exfoliates, but it doesn't do anything amazing.

Tips: Although it is important to exfoliate, a lot of woman use products that are just too harsh. This would be a great product to transition from a harsh exfoliator to something more gentle.

Nice Product

I bought the product recently after watching a review by the lovely Sharon on You Tube.

Firstly the product is very good value for money! The tube is actually quite large and full to the brim of product (you also only need a little bit).

The cleanser comes out as a cream formula and really just onto the skin. I have to admit, I wish it was slightly more grainy in texture as it seems to feel very smooth for an exfoliator. Despite that it feels lush when you rub it in and feels quite expensive.

In terms of what it has done for my skin, I definitely feel that it deep cleanses and gets every last bit of makeup off. It has also cleared up a break out I was having and did not irritate the area. My pores are also a little bit smaller which is good.

I would highly recommend this product if you are wanting value for money.

Tips: Use in the shower.
